Helicopter joystick mod, spring removal +friction

Note that the pivot should technically be on a bearing because the joystick cross secton changes as it is deflected. At the very least there needs to be a gap to allow room to flex

I am currently about to print my first test....in the mean time i did try using just 3 rubber bands hooked around the corners of the base and the shaft of the joystick itself and it works quite well. I decreased the tension on the rudder spring too because it is quite strong and that helped. i need to weaken it more and probably just create my own spring from music wire now that i think of it. that would be perfect. I will link video to my channel of my setup soon

@@ferce889 No spring, stick friction. I used plastimake (poor man's 3d printer) to make the friction plate. imgur.com/gallery/B6qJWoR

Just bought this joystick. It's pretty good, but kind of stiff. My arm gets tired after a while.

Hi, did you remove the whie box just above the spring too? And did you remove the tension on the yaw?

Yaw still has tension. I think I just removed the spring but can't recall now.
