Your wife’s tips are spot on. I received the Savannah chair with rocking feet and cup holder as a gift after our fourth baby was born. We have no room for clunky rocking chairs that sit unused after 18- 24 months. This chair (similar to the Sunset chair, but with wings) has been brought with us to days out, side of the road/ rest stop lunch stops, families homes and set up in our nursery. It is probably the best baby gift I’ve received.

That is amazing, I'd never even thought to get it out at home. The nursing chair at home rarely gets used anyway, this would be a much better solution

I like the Helinox Cafe chair, not just because of the small pack size and weight but it has the highest sitting position of the Helinox chairs that I could find. I have dodgy aging knees and having a higher sitting height means it’s much easier to get into and out of. As you said they feel a bit flimsy at first use but they are very strong and handle my 100 kg weight easily. When it gets a little chilly I drape a sheep skin over the chair and that helps keep me toasty warm. All up they are a quality chair and my only real gripe is that they are expensive but I also think it will last many, many years.

I have the Savannah and love it. Handy tip with weighting it down 👍🏻

I rate my Helinox Savanna chair, killed two so far, first lasted well over two years and whilst annoyed that it broke I was happy enough seeing it hard a hard life under my fat arse. The second only lasted about a year and on a recent trip both the seat poles (holds the fabric under bum) broke, I was able to shorten the poles and re-thread the elastic and make it workable for the last 10 days of that trip. I contacted Helinox on return, and they shipped two replacement poles out straight away. I can't understate that type of customer service. So even with those issues, I still rate them for comfort, convenience and space saving! Recommend the ball feet set and the fleece cover too

Good review, spot on across the board pros and cons! I'm 6'2" and 105kgs and it's one of the most comfortable chairs I've used. As you noted it's so light a careless fart will launch it into the campfire when you stand up to get another beer. Similar to your weight down tip at the end we use a cheap clippy key carabiner thing to hang the storage bag to the bottom bar and fill it with rocks, firewood, a water bottle, whatever is around will hold it down.

Congrats on 2.88K subs. I use that chair for fishing and disconnected day tours. It's great chair, exxy but light weight in the canopy.

We to have a couple of cheap Aldi versions. They aren't for someone my size but for more normal sized people they are great. I would love to know how they compare to these expensive ones.

Perfect for the weight and storage consious setups, but after a few years I sold ours and went back to full size camp chairs. The Cold and confort was also offputting.

Great tips !!! Love you to have a look at the expensive American Clique chair or knock off variant.

We have a couple of these and they are brilliant chairs (other than the blowing over bit). Sure, you wouldn't pick them other than to save space and weight, but they are genuinely comfortable and so small once packed up that they are ideal for camping out of a wagon. Cheaper versions of this type of chair just don't work as well so I think the cost is justified given the quality and functionality.

Why, yes, I do own a Sunset chair. I'd say you have a fair assessment of it. The stake and cord accessory to prevent the chair blowing away is easily duplicated with paracord and a spare stake. Putting the weighted bag on the bottom is a good tip, too. I've made do without a cup holder since I must be an alky as I never put the tin down (kidding, I just put it on the ground).

Tip: cut to fit a closed cell foam sleeping mattress. I cut one to fit the length and made triangular cuts in the sides so when it folds it fits neatly in the chair. Being at the 100 mark I fit no problem in it with the mattress fitted 👍

Big rock works great too if you don't happen to carry a sledge hammer with you (Roof top tent campers who dont need to pin stuff down for example). Harry did prove they they arent prado proof though. Also keep your mates away from them or they'll steal them and try to leave you their $15 Kmart chair!

Yes he ran one over I think? I believe that's how I ended up with this one. He had two, ran one over, then decided to upgrade them both to the Savanna chair.

I own a Chair One for my motorbike camping trips and Savanna for 4wding. They’re both brilliant chairs for their purpose. I’m 192cm tall and 100kg+ and no issues with comfort for me. I know people balk at the price but the space savings alone are worth it.
@Camping_reviews3 ай бұрын
Too right, if space and weight are top of the list the price isn't such a bother. I've even got the chair zero for hiking, it's a massive compromise of course but still easier than sitting on the ground!

Love the size and weight but not worth the $$$, I got one exactly the same from Bunnings for $50, yes different material but same frame, with all the extras probably over $400, each to their own I suppose, great review and great to see you back

Cheers mate! I'd love to do a bit of a comparo between this and similar cheaper chairs. All the cheaper ones I've seen are more like the Helinox Chair One though (without the high back)

Like it - But miss Intents too... so I have a sunset and it's great. I do take the cover off at night but other than that don't worry about it.... BUT I switched (back) to my Kermit Chair.. packs as small, arm rests, made of wood (?!! yep..) and really more comfortable, with the option legs... maybe a US thing... but made in Tennessee by a small company... takes a bit more patience to put together but honestly the "Perfect" camp chair.
@Camping_reviews3 ай бұрын
I had to look the Kermit up, looks like it's a US thing but in Aus, Zempire does a chair that looks exactly the same...I wonder if they did a license deal with Kermit? Or did they rip them off....regardless, that's a pretty neat looking chair!

For Landcruiser 300 drivers? Also for TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY BUCKS all accessories should be included.
@Camping_reviews3 ай бұрын
If I could afford a LC300 I'd definitely be able to afford one each for my whole family 😄 unless of course....I'd over extended my budget on the Landcruiser....then I'd be sitting on a tree stump eating baked beans

The space you save on this is huge but I couldn't part w 250 big ones for a chair that's gonna blew over and spill my beers. I would never get one the cons don't outweigh the benefits for me. I still watched this entire video though! Harry has been in all 3 KZbins I've seen 😂
@Camping_reviews3 ай бұрын
Totally! I'm loving the full size camp chair I've been lent for review right now, so comfy! If I didn't have kids and so much cr@p to lug around, I'd probably have a full sized chair again. Harry and I batch shot a good 8 videos in 2 days, though he wasn't there for the gazebo vs awning one. Might have a Harry free vid up next week, give everyone's eyes a break 😉

@Camping_reviews ha, looking forward to it! Yes we have kids and a heap of stuff to lug around too. Space is prime real estate as we vehicle based campers. Thanks for the video!
