Helix Guide For John Frusciante’s Dual Amps Marshall Major - Silver Jubilee - Line 6 Helix

This is my first guide Frusciante’s dual amp settings in the helix. John plays Marshall Major and Silver Jubilee for his tone.

Thank you very much for this tutorial, I was looking for presets and guide for this tone and nothing convinced me, but the tone I get with this tutorial on the POD GO is amazing, I can only emulate one type of amp but that's enough for me. So glad it helped. I’m actually just running one amp and it does “the thing”. Dave Simpson taught me that you don’t need two amps to sound like Frusciante, and that’s stands true for the helix. I usually use the Brit plexi bright. I’ve tried some other amps that also get close and possibly better. I’ll definitely make more videos comparing them. Thanks for watching and stay tuned 🎸

Loving the tone of the Brit Plexi on its own. Just done a low cut to 80 Hz on cab to control the rumble. Looking forward to the next vids.

I have no idea how that'd sound in reality but on paper you could have gone with brit plexi jump as John jumps the channels of his Marshall Major and for the cabs there actually is the exact model that John uses included in the Helix which is 4x12 1960A T75(although John has been using B cabinets exclusively from Stadium Arcadium onwards, but it isn't that important). Nonetheless, I have to say that you've achieved quite a tone.

@@frusciantegeartone Yeah I mean I think you should just experiment with those Marshall Major substitutes and choose the one you like the most. If it was the plexi bright then feel free to stick with that one

You have to try the "voltage"amp" its based on plexi

Are you talking about the “line 6 voltage” or “voltage queen”. At first I tried voltage queen but didn’t like it. BUT THEN I tried the line 6 voltage and oh my… I think it may be my favorite. Seems like the gain stage and channel volume work so well together in shaping tone. I actually got Frusciante tone really quick. Like weirdly quick. Now I just need to “A & B” them to see which one is closer. But yea, thank you for leading me that direction. Will definitely do a video on it as well as a shoutout!
