Used to be one of my favorite games but I've since been diagnosed with glaucoma and its getting worse pretty rapidly.. preventing me from being able to see basically anyone, especially in a treeline. Would love to get the treatment I need to be able to see whats going on in the game again as it was so much fun to play with my friends. Squad 44 faster paced than HLL? Yeahh no. Squad 44 is much more hardcore than HLL with things like a stamina bar and drinking water to replenish stamina which HLL does not have. Many people regard HLL as a good balance of tactical hardcore realism while also still being accessible enough to not be like Squad, Arma, or squad 44. And enlisted isn’t even on peoples radar

I wouldn't go as far as saying much more hardcore, but it definitely can feel slower at times. Squad thinks it has a good balance of tactical realism and enjoyment but it really is a slog and only for those who really want to play a mil-sim. The learning curve getting into combat is very long for that game as well as 44 which if it was such a great game they wouldn't have felt the need to change the name from postscriptum

Still playing HLL and still loving it. Same as you there are some maps I avoid like the plague. One thing the Devs have been doing a good job of is updating older maps, Carentan for instance with the Town Centre point is so much better now with the back alleys being opened up 👍

He didn't really talk about his time there much, but he did tell me a story about getting pinned down in a beet field and watching his friend in front of him get shot in the head and having to literally lay there for the entire night in the open until he could go back.

Personally I love the fact this game requires more patience. When a match is good its really incredible in this game but when its bad, like on one of the meatgrinder maps, its real bad. Higher highs but lower lows.

You can try: :Turning off the controller and back on :disconnect voip and reconnect : mix step one with step two :relaunch the game. I have the voice issue often and these work for me everytime.

Veteran player here since 5 years. Please take time to look at tutorial and KZbin video before jumping in. The game have a big learning curve and you will not understand how you are killed and to recognize the maps for the first 100h. Stay humble, play with mics and ask questions. After that you will be able to judge and say if you like or not.

It would be great if HLL would use more of my GPU. Like its sitting between 30-50% in 1440p ultra on an RTX 4080 and an i7 13700k. I can't seem to pass the 100-110fps barrier. And the horrible traversal stutter (stutter in general) but that sadly seems to be a inherent problem to Unreal engine games with big maps like that. Other than that its a masterpiece, love that game.

I enjoy the gameplay, but ive found i have to lock my fps to 75 instead of 144 due to stutter issues, very jarring to me that i spend more time trying to optimise my game rather than playing it. I think this is why i walked away from it last time. Also i have a very up to date pc so its not the hardware thats my issue. At least on paper. That being said the game itself is good.

The main takeaway I got from this video is that I need to check out Squad 44. HLL is great, but soo slooooow. At one point they increased player speed, which felt good to me. Then they reverted because players were running faster than tanks lol. Not to mention "dolphin diving", abusing the jump to prone animation. And the flat maps that are just sniper heaven. HLL has its issues. Squad 44 sounds interesting though.

yeah they sure did, the entire game is cooked. i cant even start the game because the invasive anticheat wont start, it even bluescreened my PC when i attempted to run the game. zero response from the devs when i emailed them and the only response i've ever gotten was "make sure the game isnt running with task manager" as the problem started with a steam error saying "this game is currently already running" after the first failed attempt to start the game. what an absolute mess this game has become since the new devs took over.

The only critique I have with this game, is the spring speed is so slow and it takes forever to traverse the map, that paired with the fact that you get shot and die from people you can’t see doesn’t feel right, apart from that I do love the game

0:59 - the sense of SCALE is unparalleled in HLL? Seriously? It's a descaled miniaturized experience compared to S44. S44 has incredible realistic engagement distances, HLL slows all it's tanks down for it's tiny map sizes. HLL is almost entirely designed to force close combat, which is not at all a realistic experience. If there was one fault with HLL, it's how small the scale of everything is.

Hell Let Loose was good before Black Matter sold out to Team 17. I can’t understand why people are praising Team17 when it took them 3 years to release 1 map. & Mortain doesn’t count because it’s garbage & the British maps were 90% done by Black Matter before the sale. I promise you, as a kickstarter of Black Matter & HLL in 2018, you will not see anything from Team 17 outside of $10 DLC & haircuts for at least another year.

HLL is an arcade game compared to Squad44. The gameplay mechanics, physics, sounds, explosion effects, authenticity and realism in Squad44 is unmatched. This game may have unreal engine 5 which makes the character models looks good but this game is more visual art rather than an authentic immersive experience. Not to mention the graphical updates in Squad 44 and crispness looks better to me now
