Seems to me that her saying "I will kill him" was an answer to the earlier question "when the time comes will you be ready to kill". I don't think it means she plans to kill Gabimaru but will step up without fear if the situation comes to that. At least how I read it.

I think that they should've had her think of that question in her mind before she said "I will kill him" to make it clearer to anime-only watchers.

People will love this anime. I wasn't the biggest fan of the manga. Great fights and cool characters but a super convoluted magic system with a weird ass story. I am only looking forward to the fights

The truth is seen in the sword= True emotions, true feelings and peoples true self are revealed when facing extreme situations like "the sword" or death. that's why when she faced Gabimaru she said that people either accept death, pray for there live or like Gabimaru, they fake accepting their fate. IDK if it made sense. When she looked at it and saw the corpses the diffrence was tha his were almost embracin him has he shoulders that burden but her were still red and crawling up as if their feeling were not acknowledged.

Ohhhh boy, you are gonna be editing a lot lot more in the future. Out of the Shonen Dark Trio, this one has the most number of R-rated scenes. JJK and Chainsawman are still ongoing, so by the end I don't know which will have more, but till now it's Hell's Paradise.
