Arki freshie here! hahaha di talaga ako marunong mag drawing and bobo ko sa math. so far naeenjoy ko naman and natututo na ako magdrawing (araw-araw ba naman humawak ng lapis). may prof din talaga na mambabagsak sayo and may prof na kahit pangit gawa mo, maappreciate nya as long as nag try ka and hindi ka NAGPAGAWA. make friends narin kasi di lahat ituturo ng prof, so kayo kayo ng mga friends mo magtutulungan and trust ne may isa talagang mamaw friend na magtuturo and mangi inspire sainyo 😂❤ Edit: 3rd yr na koo!!😭❤

I don't see myself in a different profession. @@vince_c It requires a lot of physical endurance. I don't want to scare you from going into the major, but it is something that needs to be considered. Design is very subjective and this will frustrate you when your work is not appreciated. However, after all of that i can still say that it is the best decision i have ever made.

I know I've said this before somewhere here in the comments but it still holds true: I always encourage people to take architecture if that's what they really want. I took architecture even though I wasn't extremely good at drawing either. I did however, have to work twice as hard as others to make up for the skills I lacked. I made it through naman! If it's what you really want, and you're willing to work hard, kayang kaya mo naman! I hope you pursue architecture. Good luck ♥️

I am confident with my skills in math but I'm not really that good in drawing. I mean... I really want to be an architect but my drawing skill is pulling me down and I'm wondering if I should just take engineering instead even though I REALLY WANT ARCHITECTURE.

In my opinion, engineering is a whole different world compared to architecture. In architecture we focus on design (so there is a lot of planning and designing) while in engineering they focus on stability and safety of structure (a lot of computations for structurals). The approach to building structures from an engineering perspective and architecture perspective can be very different. If you really want to take architecture I think you should! Drawing manually is just a part of architecture but you should know that buildings get built using digital software. If you're not too good with manual drawing maybe you can be good with digital! Good luck, I hope you pursue what you really want 😊

I wish I had a list but there really way too many things to get and it differs per person or school. I think your school will give you a list tho. Because they'll know what they'll be requiring of you so I think a list will be coming from them. Most likely from your Basics on Drafting prof 😊

hi! i'm just a highschool student but here's my opinion :)) it is true that archi takes a lot of time, effort, before you actually land a job (based on my research) and its not easy to find high paying companies. but if you really love archi and it is your passion, it doesnt matter whether your salary is high or low. as long as you're happy, then thats what matters right? hehe. :) archi takes a long time but if you are determined and hardworking, then you'll also find a nice job where you'll enjoy. :)

Sa totoo lang magastos siya sa start. Investing in equipment cost a lot. Like a nice T-square or a different pens, or even a nice laptop. I suggest investing in the high quality stuff in the beginning if you can, it'll save you money in the long term. Also, I wasn't good at drawing when I started. You can definitely learn ❤️

They'll teach you what you need in college! But always assess if you feel like you're not learning fast enough to meet the demands of the plates. They'll teach you Autocad for example, pero just the basics. Other things you have to be willing to learn on your own, even if it means staying up late at night, because you need to learn it for your plate na malapit na yung deadline. I always say that I was never BORN to be an architect, but I made it through by seeing where I needed to grow and making sure to put in the hard work 🤗

Ako mismo di magaling magdrawing. Tapos yung mga kabatch ko noon first year pa lang ang gagaling na. Marunong na sila magdraw, magpaint and gumamit ng Arki software. Pero dahil alam kong nahuhuli ako, I just made sure to work extra hard. Nakakapagod pero kinaya naman. Pag dating sa Arki lagi kong sinasabi na sipag talaga ang importante at time management. Kapag alam kong mas mabagal ako, gagawin kong mas maaga. Kapag alam kong hindi siya the quality I want, minsan uulitin ko. Sipag lang 😊

My advice is always to follow your dreams. It sounds cliche but tbh engineering is five years also. If you don't really like it, that's five years then the rest of your life doing something you're not passionate about huhu

I dont think it's to late to learn anything. Although it is maybe useful to keep in mind that architecture is a 5 year degree and after that there is a required OJT of 2 years before you're allowed to take the boards (that's the case here in the PH). So let's say you start at 30, you'll be an architect at 37. Again, I don't think it's too late to start. If you don't mind starting to design at 37, then go for it!
