One thing I think would help hellcaller is buffing the 4Piece debuff to be 100% uptime. >Everytime you do rapture you get damage bonus on your dots

that definitely would be pretty strong. i think that blizz intentionally made the tier sets pretty weak across the board this tier, which im kinda fine with tbh. they should just buff vile taint instead haha

thank you! i really like hellcaller but only played it as destro up until recently since soul harvester was just so much stronger. i really like shadow bolt with soul harvester affliction, it makes it easier to apply shadow's embrace, gives you some more mobility, and makes it easier to not cap on nightfall procs. for hellcaller though I think drain soul is pretty important. you have a hard time generating shards mid pull as hellcaller, so being able to get shards from mobs as they die is really nice. I've also noticed that I get a lot more crescendo procs when using drain soul than shadow bolt,

I think ISB would be okay, I just had some problems with shard generation so I wanted to try drain soul to snipe shards in packs.

Love me some actual dot gameplay. Here's some food for thought: 1.) Siphon Life instead of Absolute corruption. 5% Heal from wither? Might be insane sustain, and it deals 5% more damage on top. Obviously losing the QoL and the global for reaplying. Will test myself. - Edit: cut that, its doing next to nothing and that nothing went 70% into overheal anyways 😂 2.) From your Damage breakdown Malevolent Visionary and Darkglare do about 5% overall damage, your wither crits 50% of the time, picking up contagion increases the crit damage of all your dots by 30%. Your Wither alone makes up for the damage part that is provided by darkglare + Malevolent Visionary. So we're left with extending the dots by 8 seconds part (once every 2 minutes). Could be fatal given which dungeon/pulls might require that. Will test. You've gotten me curious. I come from Destro spec so im heavy into haste/crit and hardly have any mastery (4,5k -> 36%). Gonna test in some lower m+'s. Thanks for the video edit: yeah...naaah... ill stick with hellcaller destro 😂 done 2x m+. both felt horrible

yeah it is a very tight window, and can only be done around your CDs. Imagine if they changed vile taint to just work that way naturally

I did my Mist+12 too with Hellcaller... feels good.... I take out 2-points from Darkglare and put them into dot-crit-talent.

I feel like it will be good in certain dungeons in +12. City, dawnbreaker, ara kara, maybe siege come to mind. NW you need a lot of burst for various packs and boss encounters, mists u need burst for first boss, stonevault is sus for aff in general imo lol (i always run it as destro). grim batol might be fine as either spec i think. I definitely want to get some more practice in this week and see how it feels after trying out some other talent choices too

statswise what are your suggestions? In general multitarget sims give a huge priority to mastery over crit and haste, but i see a lot of player going for crit and haste instead. Do you have any idea or any suggested tresholds?

I need to try this. I'm best at Demo, and was only doing about 80% of the damage I could do on Demo as Aff. It felt like I did 0 damage outside of Soul Rot windows even when not wasting Nightfalls, maintain dots, and not overcapping shards. More steady dam sounds v nice.

I know how both specs feel to play and what each are capable of. When I play demo while fully optimized for aff (enchants consumes trinkets) my damage noticeably suffers.

Yeah soul harvester has higher highs and lower lows, really really focused on that 1 min cd timer. If your cooldowns get desynced or you don't have something up for a pack your damage really suffers. I hope you'll like hellcaller, need more aff players haha

Something to note: there are a couple of weekly affixes that increase our crit chance when you deal with them properly. If you are playing hellcaller aff in these weeks, and you are doing 11s or lower, I think it is definitely worth it to take both points in contagion AND malediction. Personally, I take both regardless of what im doing or what week it is.

That being said I feel like it is better in places where you really want burst (first boss in mists for example) hellcaller shard gen is about sniping mobs with drain soul and getting procs. also, tormented crescendo procs to get free raptures really matter too. not gaining the 3 shards on soul rot is noticeable, but with enough play on the spec I feel like you can get used to it rather quickly

Hey man. Am using a focus macro for my kicks, and I also embedded Curse of the Satyr in that particular macro. Give it a try! Also have it with Curse of Tongues on my other specs.

@@ZlyLudekPL Yeah it would. I usually apply the macro on the start of the pull, and most of the times there is only 2-3 casters so it is just 2-3 globals. Also it is very much needed in higher keys, cause you give more time inbetween kicks and therefore less dmg output on your team. Curses are very useful as keys gets harder!

i would like to be able to use it, but it doesn't really seem to compare in single target. maybe you can use it on bloodbound horror if the adds are dying a bit slowly. and it was used before on silken court, so i imagine you can use it there too no problem

thank you! i have a @cursor macro for it. it just makes the spell cast instantly at my cursor without me having to click the area to choose it. it works on any aoe ability like that. I use it for rain of fire, cataclysm, infernal, shadowfury, vile taint, etc.. #showtooltip /cast [@cursor] Vile Taint replace vile taint with another ability like the ones I listed and they all work the same. pretty convenient, but you can miss crucial abilities if you lose sight of your cursor lol

I think that focused malignancy is pretty important for boss damage since we have quite a few other rapture talents. Speccing into FULL aoe talents will make us a lot less useful in tyrannical keys on bosses. and i really like deaths embrace since it buffs wither by a good amount since wither starts ticking down when the enemy is in execute range. you could swap 1 of the crit chance talents with the crit damage talent and take improved haunt instead. there are a few talents there that can be moved a bit, but not a ton of a wiggle room

i am pretty happy with the buffs for now. i personally think demo is the strongest spec now, but the damage profile isnt the best for every dungeon.

You don't need a WA to tell you when people die. Converting party to raid frames and moving them slightly closer would do it. You can't see anything on your party frames.

seems nice with the hellcaller, I feel soulharvester are too dependent on Soul Rot, once the Soul Rot is in CD, damage arent looking good at all

yeah speccing too much into aoe is definitely a detriment. that being said I don't feel like its single target was too bad. burst single target is noticeably worse tho. on an average boss hellcaller;s dps felt fine. but on something like mists first boss then soul harvester seems like it would just be a lot better during the burstwindow

@@krozothebozo There is an argument to be made that if you want quick burst on target switches though, you shouldn't go Aff anyway. Destro is much better suited for that. Definitely going to try Hellcaller Aff!

not much has changed in regards to the meta for raid builds. the best ST demo/aff/destro builds from last week are still the best performing, though there's some conversation about channel demonfire for destro. so whatever you were playing before is likely still viable

I like hellcaller it feels fun but honestly, the massive drop in ST damage just aint worth it for me, i pug alot and pugs never have boss damage so i have to and hellcaller just doesnt have it, its a shame that a hero talent build affects things that much i wish they would just buff us baseline more tbh

yeah the shard thing is a little rough. there is a talent (Relinquished) that gives agony 10% increased change to gen a shard , maybe it will be worth taking in the future for this spec.
