Couple of tips to share myself. if you are running from hunters, don't aim and pull your pistol (or if you have smg you can use it as well). Just run away from them, point your screen in the direction and hit the fire button. Use the tracers and you can run away from them and take them out at the same time. If you look at the minimap closely you can pick out certain landmarks and points of interest. With practice you can find the super samples merely by looking for the silver circle on the map. Don't sleep on certain weapons just because they don't seem all that great. Arc Thrower can kill multiple bugs, and take out chargers with 7-8 shots to the head. While not as quick on the chargers, it will 2 shot spewers, brood commanders, hiveguards and take 2-3 hunters in a single blast. If you use it aim high and ask your teammates to stand a bit behind you. An EMS strike and an arc thrower will make bug breaches feel insanely weak.

Kinda have to disagree on the part about not reloading until the clip is empty. Yes, prematurely reloading after only firing a few shots of an assault rifle is a bad practice, sure. But I'll surely not run into a nest with only half of the clip remaining. Whenever I have time and around 50% or less of the clip remaining, I discard it. Never really ran out of ammo. I'd rather lose some ammunition than having to reload at a crucial moment where I'm swarmed. So from my perspective this is a lot more "it depends"-ish.

That's a fair point, I should have specified that I was referring more to reloading in the midst of combat not prior to an engagement.

Just check how much ammo you have left first. I’m not throwing away 13 rounds just cause I’m entering nest. Just stay aware that you’ll need to reload soon.

On PC at least, I rebound my stratagem keys to my arrow keys, which still lets you be mobile

If you are on PC and using a controller that's not a brand name PlayStation controller, ReMap your stratagem UP to UP on the left stick and UP on the left stick to stratagem UP, then switch them back MANUALLY. You will now be able to walk forward with your stratagem menu open. You are welcome fellow helldivers.

Personally I've run into many who are a bit overeager, and seemingly easily frustrated. They run into enemy patrols or outposts and leave after just a couple deaths. I don't know how prevelant this is, I'm hoping it drops off at higher difficulties, but until then; please practice some patience guys.

It got worse at higher difficulties:( I will tag a squad and quickly say "wait" through the response menu and the squad mate will look at me and crouch then open fire a few seconds later

Pro tip I learned myself, if you’re out of grenades, throw a strat turret into the hive/factory, you have unlimited usage of them.

Hold the controller with the left hand and use your right to call in. Can run doing it

I just remap call in with arrow keys so that I can move and call in at the same time.

Not being able to run and call in stratagems is only a PC problem. You can still move easily on the PS5.

On PC all your controls can be rebound to whatever you want, so you just rebind your strat dialing keys to the arrows on your keyboard. This way you can still easily run in any direction with your left hand and dial strats with your right. Way quicker, way more comfortable.

You got things wrong: these are not players' mistakes but the gamemakers.. If they expect me to rewrite 20years muscle memory, they guessed wrong.. The PC can tell me 20 times he's out of ammo but cannot reload.. blasphemy!.. I have anti-ghosting keyboard, but the game has ghosting features... some Strategems are too difficult to call... refunded!..

You should not lose ammo when conducting an administrative reload. Magazines with perfectly good rounds in them are not simply thrown away; this is not something a real military would practice. I demand that the developers change this before I buy this game. Yes, I said DEMAND.

I'm super new, so apologies, are you suggesting a perk (dunno the name) that keeps the half spent mags so that when you've used your full ones you can use the ones half spent? If so, sounds good
