It's pretty great at getting out of sticky situation quickly. It removes every small enemy in a long, perfect of the city streets, and if a harvester is their then the shield goes down so you don't have to worry. It's not the best, but it's a go to in my lists.

AH seriously need to rework the ammo supply system, Helldivers 1 supply pack was meant for teammates to restock. now its a considered a selfuse strat. Either lower cooldown on Ammo resupply strat or make 1 packet of resupply do a full restock on especially STIMS, grenades . Also in Helldivers 1 most backpack strats drop down with 2 backpacks...bring it back.

IMO, everyone should get their own resupply call down, reduce the CD, reduce the packs to 2 with 1 side being ammo, and the other side being equipment (stims/nades). This makes it better for both individuals and also a good way to share with allies if needed

Arc weapons stun the flying bois and are pretty good vs the illuminate, but i've just been rocking all the MGs' and Ramboing my way thru the hordes.

I want a different build for each of the factions, and I've ended up on heavy machine gun for Illuminates. It is a pretty good weapon against them.

i did a solo super helldiver on illuminate it was stressful but waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy easier than bugs and bots, the lack of diveristy in objectives makes it really easy, also the fact that mg kills everything as long as you have ammo in the chamber, tenderiser also is very good at dealing with everything but tripods but at that point you have the mg to deal with the tripods and then bring the pocket granade launcher for ships and tesla towers, and then whatever stratagem i please for the remianing two slots, typically a turret + some orbital or eagle staatagem also with the new extra ammo in the new armour you just can just set it to 850 rpm and shred things, i dont have gas warbond so i bring incidiery granades

The issue with overseers is they have breakable armor, so they take no damage unless armor is broken (or bypassed). I literally watched a overseer tank bullets until armor broke and then i killed it like 6 shots after (using sickle) The flying ones are annoying cause they start moving as soon as you start shooting them The scorcher can kill them quickly due to splash damage on every shot. The purifer charge shot kills them in 2 shots but normal shots take 6-8shots

Dough not like strafing run is wild. No one said the strafing run was SUPER GOOD, its just good for taking down the shields, especially id youre running purifer/scorcher (weapons that suck at taking shields down) Strafe run and 1 grenade and boom 1 ship destroyed.

Plus if you line up any buildings or the UFOs you can get multiple per run. I tend to use it as a lane clear or when I'm being chased, it's quick and has a good forgiveness area so you don't have to really struggle to get out of the strike area.

@@hawk9mm yea it can be useful in other ways but with hordes its kinda RNG. Ive had it take out a whole horde (20+ enemies) and ive also had it only take out like 10 enemies in a horde. Both runs were called in, in similar situations, so results shouldve been close but no. Still its decent and 5 uses is nice

have you tried using the RPG? I used it myself, it works very well on patrol groups basically annihilating entire patrols of illuminate and works well on tower defenses. And if you switch between ammo types, you can also target the flying boys or extend the blast radius of the shells. The only real drawback is inability to fight against walkers and perhaps a lower rate of fire (you do have 3 other options to fill that role however).

Are you using this loadout as a chalenge? Illuminates are the most fun ever in this game and a lot of the guns are viable on them that were bad before, just combo them well together. Jar-5 is not good at taking care of the medium enemies and so is the flamer, they are weak to explosive weapons like the plasma guns and crosbow. You have no good answer for the harvester, and the flamer is mid at taking out the voteles because you will set yourself on fire. Gas granade is good but incendiary impact is better imo because it's faster to act and the warp ship doors are bugged rn (tnx AH QA department). MG sentry is the best sentry for illuminates imo because it has low recharge time and doesn't teamkill like the gatling sentry. Note: napalm barage is amazing and full clears illuminate drops on it's own, excluding the harvesters. My loadout: Breaker S&P, Loyalist, incend impact, Siege ready armor, Napalm barage, MG sentry, Laser dog, Commando. The game is still chalenging with this loadout and you get A LOT of kills. Hope this helps so you can have as much fun on the illuminates as i am having.

The flamethrower is a lot of fun against the squids (especially once you realize it melts the striders) but I feel like it';s been super weird with how the fire spreads, I've been lighting teammates on fire when they were BEHIND ME up a FLIGHT OF STAIRS. I don't know if they changed how it spreads on the ground or if the zombies spread it but it makes it hard to use.

The one problem i have with Illuminates is their HP pool. Especially the Overseers and the flying fucks. Especially considering that you won't simply outrun the flying dudes. You gotta fight them, and most weapons deal, or atleast it feels like they deal negligible gamage, and Purifier almost seems like the best gun against them since they can two tap them from full charge. Railgun is hilariously useless, Overseers can tank 4 fully charged shots, which is just ridinculous.

I'm gonna have to disagree that the strafing run isn't good against specifically the illuminate. Been using it all weekend. Drops shields super fast. You get 5 strikes before needing to re-arm, and its easy to set up mobs to get mowed down. I had a mob chasing me, lured them between some rocks and mowed down 28 enemies in one strike!

Purifier isnt bad it can 2 shot the flying guys and armored ones but the lack of the weapon is taking shields down of their ships so i run a machine gun of some sort to deal with it since balistics seem to deal more dmg to shields rather than explosive and energy weapons, this faction feels like anything can be viable but as of now the jetpack guys and staff guys r pretty tanky let alone a horde of zombies chasing u at almost any given moment

I like the concept of this faction, but if they're swarming like bugs, while flying over your cover and displacing you, then the flying units shouldn't take 4 direct shots from an autocannon to die. They are too tanky, which isn't a problem, unless they are constantly on top of you. It has all the worst problems of bugs and bots, while feeling so chaotic and random, that trying to "contain" a situation feels completely arbitrary. "Just Run" - Helldivers2 motto.

Personally wasn't that impressed with the squids. Destroying the warp ships was annoying. You were basically forced to bring something to Destroy the shield if you didn't you couldn't unless you brought certain stratagems that oneshot them. The squids were surprisingly tanky. They would also randomly onetap you even in heavy armor. the missions weren't that different. Free the colony was just capturing the flag with an extra step. The black box was just retrieve data mission. Bugs like enemies phasing through buildings and sliding after getting prone. There was good things like the voteless and city map.
