To make it better, they'd need to fix the stratagems sticking to enemies but deploying to the point of impact known issue. Like it's great to be able to use them, but I want my precision strike to both strike at a precise target instead of striking at a point that is no longer relevant. Also, I really want to make a super walking barrage. Stick a 380mm beacon to a scavenger and then punt it across a field.

it sucks when their ragdoll aoe pulls out from behind cover to in front of it. hot take, when behind cover, ragdoll aoe SHOULD NOT GO THROUGH THE COVER. infinite times playing bots, try to get cover from any explosive source (command bunker, turret towers, fab strider cannon, tank cannon, hulk cannon, rocket striders), i reload, stim, headglitch out of cover, then the explosion hits THE FRONT of the cover and i get sent flying wildly OUT of cover into bot fire. it feels like in this game that you get punished for trying to use cover.

It's the animation lock for me, it intrupts whatever animation you were in and prevents you doing anything till your character fully stands up and on planets with those environmental hazards that also cause ragdoll you can get bounced round for about 10+ seconds which is just frustrating, ragdolling has probably accounted for 60% of the deaths I've had post buff patch. It does need toning down or the environment features like those puff ball things removed as a temporary fix just to reduce the amount of time you bounce round on some worlds

its obvious that some old mechanics weren't thought out or updated from the first game. This was a non-issue in the first game as it was top down and you could see them coming, in this third person game you can't always see them coming so some added sound would be great. Especially considering the enemies can detect you if your making noise and not prone etc.

Due to this some people said the balancing was bad because the devs only played in teams with good coordination instead of playing with randoms. then with the escalation of freedom livestream they had 2 devs and 2 people from PSN news on difficulty 5 and getting their asses kicked in the new swamp biomes. Due to this some people said the balancing was bad because the devs suck at the game since they didn't get the memo that half the team on that livestream weren't devs. i wonder if this pendulum will swing back to "devs be playing only on high difficulty with good teams" :T.

It’s impossible to use the shield generator relay effectively because you have to get out of the mech to throw it. This change could make mechs viable on the Automaton front for the first time. The ability to call in smoke strikes and shields would be good cover for mechs, especially on Automaton Super Bases.

Clearly not enough bots have been played mate if the opinion on the ragdolling isn't "It's too much at times" like cannon turrets, hulk cannon arms, rocket striders, Barrage tanks, they all ragdoll you all over the place and sometimes even stunlock you because they don't even have to hit you to ragdoll you, they can hit the rock infront of you and you go flying.

i LOVE that the recovery-animation on a ragdoll is only half a secnd less than most of those enemies refire rate so most of them have a new projectile headed to your face/feet long before you get any control of your character again. individually it's obnoxious, with ANY other bot around it's an unstoppable combo-kill caused by a random AoE landing anywhere 3-6 meters around you including THROUGH terrain, so DON'T hug that cover folks or the ragdoll will launch you into open-ground in front of the machine-guns, rockets and omnipotent artillery forming a concave after teleporting around/behind you and into every possible "escape route"

The problem with ragdolling (especially on the bot side) is that hulks have their laser cannon aimbotting you from everywhere while also having an AOE for some reason. Old hulks with rockets can be dodged easily. Not to mention how ragdolls somehow have a specific magnet to throw players at the enemy. I've had a situation where a strider rocket hits the ground in front of me but my character instead of ragdolling backward, flew forward and to the enemy instead.

The Issue with the tanks in general, cause it happens with Eagle airstrikes is because of the AP6 front armor change they did, explosions from Eagles only do AP5, so because of the change Eagle explosions are doing no damage at all to most of the tank, which a tank Hull has 3000 hp, the non explosive component of 500kg is only 2000, with 1500 explosive

The shooting through walls argument is wild...factory striders, scout strider, and shield devastators are the main culprits. I've had well over a 100 instances where its happened to me. Usually with the factory striders because they are so large that once they get close to the cover you are behind the game then registers their "hit box" overlapping the wall's hitbox and makes it obselete.

Exactly! I don't understand the ongoing issues. Sure, the start was a bit rocky, but since then they've done everything to communicate effectively, listened to feedback, and they've responded with a patch that improved the game, changed everything. We're also getting DSS, Constitutions rifle possible and so much more. I thought it was worth mentioning to see how everyone else feels about it, because in my opinion, they're doing amazing now. Plus, the bug isn't a huge deal.

The frequency of ragdolling is much better now but the ragdoll mechanic itself needs a tweak. Right now, if you get ragdolled, it locks you into this "getting up" animation which forces you to get out of any cover. If ragdolling ended with the helldiver remaining prone, then it would be much much better.

On the topic of Liberating Shelt (or defending Mastia). 1 person running Trivial missions solo and winning as fast as possible is worth 100 people doing pub 10s. You can quit to the ship the moment you enter the Pelican (note that your Medals count goes up immediately if you look at the Esc menu, we can only assume Contribution does at the same time) Math: completing 1 Trivial mission earns about 3 Contribution points and takes 3 minutes including drop in and exfil (skipping scoreboards). The exact contribution amount varies depending on how many players are online. 1 Super Helldive campaign (3 missions) at the same time of day will provide about 15 contribution points. Assuming that you do Trivials solo but Super Helldive in a team of 4, that means that the trivial still provides 3 per person while the SHD provides only 3.75 per person. Super Hell-dive missions take on average about 30 minutes EACH, so that's 2.5 points per hour compared to Trivials getting 60 points per hour, which is 24x as effective. The reason I say 100x as effective is because Super Helldives often will not complete. Either 3 missions is just too much time to play the game, or any one of those 3 will fail. Either way they get 0 points. If you can play during off hours, the lower the overall playercount the more your contribution will matter.

So, about Shelt, we need most Helldivers at Shelt to defend it, but we also need Helldivers to hold the line at Mastia- (i don't think "defending" mastia is actually needed, we need all hands on deck for Shelt. There’s no reason to have any divers on Mastia. It doesn’t affect how quickly the planet is taken. If Shelt is liberated before the attack on Mastia is complete, the attack stops. That’s how a Gambit works.

I don't really mind the ragdoll thing except for two things: 1. those rockets from those armored scout striders push you forwards instead of away from the blast like what was wrong with the eruptor back then. 2. Blasts from rockets or heavy rounds pushing people away even when behind hard cover.

Rocket striders are the sole reason I don't play bots. It feels like they spawn more than basic ground units and they have ZERO counterplay if you don't see them coming. They tend to spawn behind you at random and sneak up on you, and then fire their instant-kill, ragdolling rocket. If it doesn't kill you on contact, it locks you in a ragdoll for 20 seconds and lets the guns clean you up. On top of that, they don't have any proper tells that they're about to fire a rocket. Feels super unfair to fight.

Ragdolling is at it's worst when you're wearing heavy armor. You're too slow to avoid multiple instances and you survive longer, leading to a lengthy cc chain. Heavy armor needs a lot of love right now :(

About the ragdolling.. the only change i recommend is to increase the distance ragdolling starts to take effect when diving off rocks. Half the fun is creating cinematic moments like diving off a rock n blasting enemys but your character goes limp after like 1.5 seconds of air time

the problem with regdolling isn't that it lasts too long, it's that you have like an entire 2 second window where you can be ragdolled again and have no way to defend yourself, so your trapped in a loop. maybe adding I-frames when standing up would fix that.

The problem to ragdolling is that I want the animation of ragdolling end in a lying down state instead of always having to stand up. Just leave me lying down, I will steam myself and then decide what to do next

I think what the devs are meaning is nobody has sent video with proof the bots are shooting through walls with a support ticket. a video should have some metadata, which would include date and time. Then they would know which patch it would be part of. if it's part of a KZbinr or Reddit video, there's no guarantee of which patch is part of(people posting old videos for example), and they have done some fixes for the bots shooting through walls and it's a known issue because a lot of people talked about it in the discord

Biggest problem with ragdolling 1. diving puts out fire, ragdolling does not despite both going to the ground. 2. Not being able to stim in ragdoll. 3. we can be ragdolled but at best we can only stun enemies.

Reinforced scout striders should not have the heavy rockets that an artillery tank has problem solved. that shit can one tap you if it lands anywhere near you and if it doesn't you either get lunched miles away to die from fall damage or to receive more laser holes from other enemies

yeah when one is tuned towards coordinating a dev team you need to sometimes take a step back to explain to a regular layman the difference between QnA forms, feedback forms, and the actual bug report helpdesk. Then there's the matter of filling it out properly so whoever has to deal with it has an easier time parsing it faster.

the "bots shooting through terrain" was obvious the moment a lot of specific "wide-base" bots walk near a terrain item. -ATAT can "nose up to" ANY "low" surface/plateau/building/wall and shoot through/beyond it with their gatlings despite their "face" not being visible. -riot-shield bots can "scrape" against terrain with their MG and shoot you despite their arm being inside terrain (hey can shoot you literally through the back-side of the terrain-texture but 90% of their already limited weakpoints are physically in the terrain thus untouchable) the tower-defence/rocket-rush mode often has dropships try to land on top of the plateau and instead drop enemi3es inside the terrain-walls that can shoot through it despite not being able to physically move through it (usually get their guns pressing out from inside the terrain) -not the same but cannons/turrets often project their AoE's through cover despite there being a clear barrier between player and projectile. -also sometimes see the "buddies" of machine-gunners land hits despite their carried weapons being waist high on walls that you all but need to go prone on at shoulder height to be able to shoot from as a player who is on average taller than the small-bots.

agreed, entirely the wrong attitude for this kind of issue. this is why most cusatomer service work from a script. response should have gone thusly. hello ~name of person~, thank you for bringing this to our attention. We do not have much/any evidence/reports on this issue, please go to form "ABCD", provide links/footage/instances of it happening and we will get right into investigating it azsx enemies that can shoot through walls is not our intent, in fact it seems rather unfortuinate and game-breaking given the multiple changes to increase enemy ranged-effectiveness and their total lack of a limited ammo-supply forcing the constant use of cover-peaking even as rag-doll rockets propagate through terrain. bad attitudes in customer facing roles always reflect poorly on the employers/business they belong to (even in the cesspit that is discord, as an appropriate name for an app as any could be given the general mod behaviors)

I think what’ll happen is they’ll roll out this next big patch as part of their 60 day plan, and have some event to celebrate Liberty Day shortly after. Maybe a content drop like Escalation of Freedom. But the real surprise is that the Illuminate show up and ruin the celebration. It could be called “Liberty Day” and be Illuminate themed making it dark and gloomy. Plus, it would be a great way lore wise to get everyone dropping in with some serious motivation.

I ragdolled by diving over a crate and landing on its surface that was HIGHER than my feet from when I initiated the jump. Also, ragdoll needs to extinguish flames, and should simply put you into the prone instead of standing up into a hail of gunfire.

The MO to protect Turing is almost certain to be completed by the end of its period now, even if we nobody plays it, considering Acamar IV is the only active planet directly linked to it (it's almost liberated). Regardless, I've been to Mastia a few hours ago before going to work, and it looks like we're going to fail its defence, meaning our DSS and its hub can EASILY become the next targets sometime in the future. I don't know how to feel about this now. 😑

We have so much trouble taking planets in defense now, it wasn't really a problem before, while now it's much harder. I did some checking, and I can't really find a solution, unless it changes the percentage we liberate on a planet to defend since we normally have the SEAF on it. I would like that to change.

Unfortunately, I think it's because of the lower playerbase. The game still has a very healthy amount of players, but it is _way_ lower from release, for a variety of reasons (looking at you, Sony).

The ragdolling I now hate is the new laser hulks. They rag doll you with the first shot then either snipe you in mid air or ex-life you before you get up. Also, the enemies not dying sometimes I believe is a lag issue of some kind. I have that problem on bug planets constantly where they seem to get a triple boost to health, sometimes mid-match

They need to make the devs play on bots one campaign every week at lv10 mandatory, presumably using all random loadouts, they'll find how unfailr it feels to fight against bots is currently, especially if they every compair it with pre patch. The +30% limb damage, +25% bot lazer gun projectile damage, rocktet strider rocket, bunker turret, hulks' lazer cannon, tank's and cannon turret health, HMG durable damage and angle AP nerf, the heavy devs shooting through itself, the frustrating ricochet situation, enemy shooting through wall, bots chacing at you indefinitely, armor increase on dev head. All these make no sense and makes playing against bots frustrating, no wonder most player perfer bugs even though bots have clear weak points.

plus the bots are PINPOINT accurate, 95% of their projectiles are UTTERLY SILENT (until they connect with the back of your head one after another). Plus they are also near-hitscan in terms of projectile-velocity. not a single bot projectile can be reliably "dodged" (except for VERY recently with the rockets no longer being shaped like beach-balls while looking like cigars with the power of a goldeneye golden-gun) Plus many enemies can literally aim-bot you to the extent that a mid-air player-ragdoll (usually caused by something explosive hitting the other side of some cover/terrain below your feet) is merely a turky-shoot for multiple follow-up high damage hits even as you spin uncontrollably while waiting for the coin-clip of if you land face-first and die instantly (pending pebble/wall/hard-surface) or if you land on anything else and are forced to roll around on the floor for 2-5 additional seconds mid-combat before going into a canned get-up animation that sees you standing still at full height for another 2-5 seconds before being allowed any player-control back.

some terrain items are destructible. a charger running through it is one thing, a shield-MG devastor shooting through it BEFORE it breaks or ramming their arm into a wall/slope and the projectiles streaming at you despite the visible section now being 99.99% heavy-armour is beyond obnoxious, the ATAT can do it as well by ramming their faces into anything with a simple texture-map terrain-plateaus, shanty-huts and walls alike.

So, in software development, we have a clear protocol for bug fixing that is properly tracked so it can be measured later against performance of the team, the developers, QA, etc. It is not QA’s job to go to the internet and randomly look for videos of bugs, people need to report it. I do find strange that this has been happening forever and no one (allegedly) bothered submitting a ticket or posting on the discord channel without tagging AH.

I mean, I'm not confused. The reason they want Zendesk reports is because they can use that for tracking. A video on KZbin showing a rocket passing through a rock can prove it can happen, but not really help in why it did or how. Or sometimes even when. When we were having that connectivity issue earlier, I used Zendesk to send a book of information so they knew what I was talking about and could check the data to see what was happening. And it's really important because, obviously, they can't see a reason in the code for a rocket to be able to pass through terrain. So it's on the list, and they patch the things they see, but they don't see this happening. And, like Glitch says, it's rare. I can't say I've had a rocket pass through a rock to hit me in many months.

I was ragdolled in heavy armour yesterday at full health and got bounced around so much it killed me, complete stun lock, it can still be pretty unforgiving at times.

Everything that the devs say would elude to that little to no bot testing has been done. Everything was compared to how it performed against the Charger. Not the Hulk, not Devastators, not tanks. Only Chargers. There's more enemies out there than just Chargers, but that's what every change included. "It performed too well against Charger armor....", "It was killing Chargers too fast.....", "It was ignoring Charger's resistance and hitting things it shouldn't....." That, to me, just tells me that the Devs dislike playing/testing against the bots as much as a decent fraction of the playerbase does as well. Meaning that they're not testing the Automaton changes extensively. They're punching in new numbers and seeing how we react. So because Bile Spewers, Nursing Spewers, Bile Titans, and Spitters are not splooshing through solid cover, they don't consider it a problem. This annoys me because it only takes a few missions against the bots before you actually do get this. You're in solid cover with your back secure and you start taking damage because the soldier aimbot kicks in, they land the next 15 hits into your head no matter where you are. And here's the thing, I'd normally be with you on that they can't fix what they don't know and if we're not telling them then the bigger portion of the onus is on us, the playerbase. HOWEVER, it took them until that mega patch 2 weeks ago for them to finally fix ADS being inaccurate to the reticles for every gun. Something that was there from the beginning of the game. Something they knew about and had plenty of reports on. Something they repeatedly addressed, and it was only recently that they actually fixed it. That's way too long from them knowing to them fixing it. And to be honest, the turn around time for Arrowhead being notified of an issue to them actually fixing it when it's not a game crashing bug is mind bogglingly slow. Example, DOT was a host privilege and they interpreted it as fire weapons are "too weak" and that's why no one is using them. 3 attempts at "fixing" what they assumed was the problem and they finally acknowledged that DOT was a host privilege and that needed to be fixed. Meanwhile fire damage and DOT was still out of control with fire tornadoes and flame hulks burning through reinforcements with 1 hit kills. It took about another 2-3 "fixes" before they completely screwed over fire with the other update right before the fire warbond. They're slow to acknowledge the actual problem, slow to respond, and slow to actually fix the issue. That's just the fact of the matter. If they were testing both factions evenly, they'd see the issues plain as day, but they are always announcing that changes are happening according to an "against chargers" meter. They need to clarify on their known issues board of what they know and are working on and what they have heard, but have yet to accumulate enough evidence to test with. Like I can report that while playing the game, my computer ends up crashing. I already know it's not an issue with the game, but with my pc overheating. If they put that down on the known issues list, it'd confuse everyone into thinking that there's a bug with the game that would overheat all machines being used to play HD2. Just a bit more clarity would help us and them.

11:35 the reason the 500kg does not kill the turret or even 1 shot tanks in general. is because the 500kg does NOT do 2100 damage. which is the HP for the cannon turret and anhilator tanks turret. the explosion is only level 6 armor pen with 1500 damage. tho the projectile of the bomb impacting is level 7 armor pen with 2000 damage so... it is weird the more you look at it.

I was thinking maybe they will be giving us that review bomb cape on liberty day. I remember them saying they were holding onto the cape to release it a more important or fitting time. Also I feel like they should make an adjustment to the amount of fall damage you take when jumping off structures or just in general. I shouldn’t take less damage when diving head first off a rock than sliding off and landing on my feet.

I agree that ragdolling is in a better spot, but last night I was ragdolled for like 5 seconds because of a slight hill I kept rolling and then the slow get up prevented me from taking a stim for the longest time. That's why I voted it's a bit too much, if only motivational shocks worked the way we would like it too lol

I have over 900 hours put into Helldivers 2 and Have seen the bots shoot through walls before, although Very Rarely. I've only seen it a very small handful of times. So when they devs play the game I'm not surprised they wouldn't run into this bug.

Ragdolling wouldn't be a problem if it worked correctly in the first place. How many times have any you had this happen: You get shot in the front and instead of flying backwards like you'd expect. You fly forwards in a defencless ragdolled state towards the enemy that just shot you? Or vice versa, you get short in the back but instead flying forwards, you now fly backwards in a similar manner? The way the ragdoll physics work in the game currently, when you get shot, goes against Newton's third law of motion! It actually works backwards! This creates this very annoying and unrealistic "lassoing" effect when we get shot. It causes frustrations because I think we all know deep down that this is not the intended behavior. And it's causing a lot of undeserved deaths, had we not been flung in the wrong direction. I also think I have a solution to this problem. Picture this "rocket = )==>" "Player = P" "Explosion = ¤". How the dev wants it to work: )==> ¤ P The way the collision works currently works: )==> P ¤ The explosion or ragdolling force, somehow goes through the player and sends us in the wrong direction. A way to fix this is by moving the explosion/force to the back of the projectile like so: ¤ )==> P This way the "force" will always be on the right side, with no risk of it phasing through the player, causing this issue.

Don't know how they can say the wallshooting bots don't exist. It's been known about forever. The ragdolls however aren't that bad, but it's really really frustrating when a strider rocket throws you out of cover like cover doesn't matter. The concussive force should not go through solid objects.
