This post is full of misinformation. The fact that Sony said they'll update us with future plans means there are STILL plans for account-linking. The only difference will be that there is some plan for people in regions with no PSN access. The game was never banned anywhere. No one was prevented from playing the game. STEAM stopped purchases in some countries, which will be temporary, and most people who couldn't get refunds were asking for them well outside STEAM's grace period. Many reports of people with more than 2 hours of play time were able to get refunds. Around 200 000 players were playing just yesterday before Sony's update came in. The lie that people weren't able to play the game is the most egregious bit of misinformation that came out of this debacle, and it makes no sense whatsoever. There was literally less than 24 hours between when that lie began to circulate and Sony postponing the account-link update. You really thought they said, "We don't know what to do, but for now lets ban these thousands of people", really?

If you need a PSN account to play the game, and you cannot make a PSN account, then you cannot play the game. It is that simple, but fortunately we didn't get to that point and they pulled back the changes before they went through. So I would say the game was effectively banned, they just didn't have the changes fully implemented at the time.
