Honestly I believe that the vast majority of people think this is a win win for the players and the game. The vast majority are excited about this update and for the people complaining about the game being easier, the game has never been easy to begin specially on higher difficulties regardless of pre-nerfed weapons usage. The game has always been challenging for your every day players specialy when you're playing with randoms .

The Devs will certainly be monitoring things after the patch and will likely tweak weapons or enemies to balance the challenge.

concidering the fact that I haven’t had to buy any of their warbonds (except the veterans pack that came with the deluxe edition) and the fact that the grind for SC is not bad, I’d say i’m generally happy with their war bond are currently being released. no they don’t always come with “game changing” weapons, but the do add diversity to our kits. the demolitions pack weapons are now my go-to weapons for termanits i’m excited about the stim pistol

I usually run support/medic so this works.i usually run a Sickle for primary. For Strategems i use Supply pack, Flamethrower, and for now 2 sentries. With that stim pistol my build for now is complete.

@@arieson7715 yeah, that is a strategy. but i’ve found that the time between different war bond releases is just enough for me to gather 900-1000 SC through *normal* play, which is a testament to their ability to balance resources (i usually play at impossible or higher difficulty)

I like that the game seems to be moving in-line with being a bit more fair to players; having bots with unlimited ammo and massive ragdoll ability was too much. Still waiting to test myself, but this is starting to sound really positive...

The helldiver’s suit could give an audible warning and a HUD icon when entering gas. “Warning: Toxins Detected” would be enough information to tell us to back up, as would vision turning somewhat green.

I'm guessing this is undiagnosed colorblindness given it's shade. To me it's hugely obvious but if you've got red/green colorblindness to any degree it may just look like any other environmental cloud

Well, tldr, we get less in the warbonds and still pay the same price because Arrowhead is giving what the community asked for. Got time: Initially, the plan was release a pack of new toys a month. This would have helped maintain player base, since people would come back every thirty days to try new guns, armor, complete missions and earn credits for the next one. But people were complaining about the quality of the weapons or thst things got nerfed because Ah hadn't tested every plausible scenerio thst payers would break with them (wuasar Canon and eat in particular) or they were bugged (eruotor). Then the ice themed warbond came out and people attacked AH because it didn't come with magical ice weapons, and the armors didn't babe anything to do with snow. So Arrowhead rewrote their entire warbond release schedule and strategy to fit more in line with how they understood the wants of tje community. More time in the oven, and themes that resonate every aspect of the warbond. (an assumption created by accident with their release of "democratic detonation") so now that's what we have. They cost the same as always, free. Or ten bucks if you didn't somehow manage to earn the needed credits in the two months between their releases. It's an optional cost, and a generous one in the era of horse armor and single cosmetics that cost as much as games now adays and whatnot. Hell, I just bought the gf a skin in fortnite (I aware she's legal. She's 31, even if it's a 13 year Olds game.) that was 12 bucks. It has no affect on gameplay, takes almost no work to produce (it's unreal. An artist makes the model and texture and clicks a few buttons, and bam. Rigged and animated, ready to go.) yes, there's skins thst do more, and thus take more work. This wasn't one of those. And there's no way outside of lame lame battle pass stuff to get any of it free. Arrowhead is making these things bespoke. A lot of them have custom animations, programmers are working to get the systems into the games code and find problems with it. Testers are testing to try and find the ways it'll break the game (either through our doing or the programs) a graphic designer is putting together the flyer, an editor is making the promo video. And we can *still* earn those credits in game and scoop it up. And again, now we have two months to do so. Plus they never go away, so you always have time to earn them. Personally, having been fine with the game since release, I pay the 10 bucks, even if I have the s.creds. The only other company I know that respects it's players like that is GGG with Poe. And imho devs that respect their players wallets and don't pray on us using cheap fomo tactics, overpriced things that do literally nothing, or gatcha mechanics deserve at least the money for a beer once every two months. I wish we'd get the monthly back, because it'd help the population in game immensely. But we're here now, so I'm rolling with it.

Fully agree. I play casually and have all of the warbonds, the super store armors I want, and 1500SC in the bank. I’d rather have carefully planned themed warbonds than “max content” warbonds. I’d like more primary/secondary, but I’m also happy chilling for a bit and waiting for a good moment to add one.

@@HughJass901 I don't disagree or not like it. The quality has clearly gone up, and I appreciate how rapidly they were able to implement this. I'd love to see them increase the team size to leapfrog the development to get it back to monthly, but mostly because I hate knowing inside that this is absolutely one of the puzzle pieces that's contributing to the population decline. I love this game, but even I only play one or two operations a few times a week now. I don't have enough to experiment with or try, *but*, with this next patch I'll have another two or three months of experimentation again (... hopefully*).... And, if I'm honest, I'll still probably just run the adjudicator as my main because I've loved how that rifle fights since even before it was buffed. And now I think I might be able to use it to knock gunships out the sky from 150 meters. And I'd be lying if I said I'm not absolutely about that.

The way you word things and your language in general suggests to me you work for AH. It's oddly defensive writing and also blaming the community and the players a lot for wanting better Quality of Life changes and a better game overall and insisting that it's getting in the way of development (a sentiment that AH has been pretty loud about in their discord screenshots). Appreciate you giving us a peek at what's really going on behind the scenes but blaming the customers for wanting a better game is not a good look

I'm just a former army intelligence analyst that was really good at historical and current operations analysis and who misses writing intelligence briefs and having a purpose. If I worked for Ah I'd be living in Sweden instead of choking down Los Angeles smog five days a week sitting in traffic omw to work gaurding at a rich persons house. Maybe I should hit them up for that community manager role, I could use the extra income. I'm sorry mate, I'm not going to sugar coat the fact that this game obviously had a shadow roadmap for it's live service on release that has been massively disrupted by the community backlash towards fairly miniscule changes to the game. A short list: The entire game has been rebalanced three times now, and despite that, the vitriol towards a company that is genuinely a diamond in the rough has only grown. But you can't trickle feed new enemies into the universe (and they don't even now, we get an ounce trailers instead of the self discovery that was so exciting at the begining and made this a really unique experience) if there isn't a foundational point to balance new enemies around. The above has also disrupted their ability to fix the bugs that have frustrated people enough to leave. I even stopped playing for a while because it sucked to find an awesome team only to magically wind up back on my desktop in the middle of an exhilarating firefight, ya know? It's disrupted their ability to make new mission types, or add new ways for us to interact with the game world. It's disrupted their ability to add new anything, really. The warbond releases were derailed because everyone was upset about the guns or, eroniously upset that a snow Scifi themed pack didn't have Mr freeze guns. Yes, the quality of life has gone up, but you're out of your mind if you think this hasn't disrupted the novelty necessary to keep a game like this interesting for more people more frequently. And yet, despite all this, they have done a lot, and they've done an incredible job grinding into the bugs. But the community as a whole would rather scream at them about some mags being removed. You've got to be honest with yourself and acknowledge that all of the above has hindered "new", which is what this game needs more than anything to keep it alive. And instead we're still on square one, "make the game feel better for people that don't like the games original design intent because it's hard sometimes." and that's ok. It is tough. But I don't mind being more powerful. I just deep down really wish we could go back to sh.t posting memes and discovering new enemies instead of getting release trailers for what's coming and worrying about it they'll remove a mag from a gun and set the community on fire again.

All we need now is a bot resupply u it that sprints across the battlefield to resupply the devastators, or a supply drop ship that drops extra rockets for the bots. So at least we have a chance to shoot it down

Agreed. The heavy devastator being able to shoot 90 degrees opposite it's direction of facing is a much bigger problem than the easily killed and easy to avoid rockets. Certainly you CAN get hosed by devastators at different angles but that more of a tactical failure. I'm down with gunship rockets being nerfed through because if you don't have the right weapon after about three of them you can't escape or do anything because of the rockets.

Referring to 5:12 , call me crazy but in the warbond trailer, the gas looks a lot greener; like they increased the saturation. It could just be because the trailer takes place in a sunny desert but to me the gas cloud looks a lot more visible.

Booster changes id make are Flexible budget now makes it so you gain reinforcements until you have the same number as the number of divers in the mission ex. If there are 3 players than you can go from 0 reinforcements to 3 just by waiting 3 times as long. Increased budget now gives +2 per diver instead of +1 UAV recon booster allows you to see the exact location of objectives that normally are an area and also lets you see the map during ion storms Motivational shocks makes you get up after being ragdolled faster Expert extraction gets to the LZ an extra 20 seconds faster and hovers over the LZ shooting for those 20 seconds before landing at its normal faster time

To be fair I didn't mind the infinite enemy ammo though their weird accuracy in fog while they do get affected by smoke was weird. And the gunships ignoring stealth completely, spawning despite nobody knowing you even exist felt like a big dumb oversight.

I don't think they needed to run out of ammo but a longer cooldown period between reloads or rocket volleys tbh now you'll just have a bunch of enemies walking around that do... Well nothing... I don't mind the change but I think this one could have been done slightly better

I feel like this warbond is one you get only if you saved up enough credits from missions or if you have all of the other ones. I personally am only getting it for the stim pistol but the gas being a intriguing build idea (can't wait for the orbital napalm tho)

Btw with one of the boosters, I believe the one that allows you to recover from stuns faster is bugged. Every time I use it I notice that I take MASSIVE damage from being push from chargers, stalkers, rocket devastaters, and hulks.

It recovers you from acid like .5 seconds sooner, it's not worth using

My biggest issue with the orbital gas strike is that once you touch it even if you immediately dive away it does damage over time like you’re on fire but theres no way to stop taking damage other than stimming but it does so much damage so fast you often don’t have time for the stim animation to play before you fall over dead. Imo you should either not take continuous DoT when you leave the gas cloud or you should be able to dive to stop taking damage

The rockets needed that collision reduction because they had so much spread. You couldn’t really dive to avoid them, the hotboxes were big enough and the spread was wide enough that you almost always got hit anyway

I think your right as regards the boosters , there are some that never seem to be used , so an overhaul of those would be good , get rid of some of them and bring in others , maybe one that staggers enemy’s on impacted as I have landed in a hoard before and pretty much got wiped out within seconds, I’m looking forward to the new patch , but being very cautious about it and hoping they don’t screw it up , great vid as usual guys , thanks for your update and opinions 👍

Maybe a good QoL fix to the gas clouds would be to make it so the "edge / silhouette" of the gas AoE has a thickher graphic/color/outline on the ground to signal better the dangerzone, specially when there's multiple layers of fog/weather (spore spewer, spore charger, fog from nursing spewers/fog modifier) that can obscure the gas strike leading to incidentals

When the game gets into a state where it feels "good" overall, would love to have armor perks be divided between the helmets and body armor. For example, if you wear a gas armor you'll get 50% resist to gas but if you wear just the helmet it's 30%. So impactful enough to mix match but if you wear both you get th full 80%. Would be awesome to wear a fire resistant helmet and gas armor to help spice up playstyle and compensate for team memebers that like carrrying flame, gas, etc. Another example could be electricity resistant helmet and impact resistant armor. They would just need to adjust the stats of the armor and play for balance.

While I personally disagree with the assessment on the war bond, I am super excited for the updates! I’m a bit surprised at the tone for these videos. One would assume that with big changes like these coming that there’d be more hype about them from content creators. I’m all about taking a critical lens to things but man, you guys sound real low energy about all of this goodness coming…

Something must have happened in Arrowhead. Unsure if Alexus got fired or some of the devs finally yelled at the other devs that this "actual vision of what Helldivers should be" sucks. Maybe even Sony put their foot down (regardless that they kinda started all this) Or maybe these failed testing streams ice heard happened finally opened the eyes of the devs

Love how they try to be negative about the warbond. Really earning the down votes. "Oh, we're getting no primaries." Yeah, instead we're getting stratagem weapons. The first warbonds were packed with loadout weapons to fill out the choices. We now have a vast selection, so we don't need 3 Primaries each warbond. Wonder how much crying there will be when there's no new weapons because you can only make so many before you might as well just be making skins instead.

Also, (since this would have been lost in my long post about warbond prices) something no one is talking about is the effect from the gas thrower. Assuming they're using the flamethrower affect with a different color, the trailer also may indicate they've fixed that lame poof poof affect the flamethrower has currently.

The warbond could have been better but it's not bad. I believe they could have added in an eagle acid strike, or acid orbital barrage. To make up for not giving use 3 weapons like the first few warbonds

It’s a gas warbond not an acid warbond I think. They already have a gas orbiter strike, if the flamethrower did shoot acid tho that’d be awesome cuz it sounds like it’d be pretty effective against automatons. The problem would be the range tho

They need to increase the mag size of all the assault rifles to actually match what a horde shooter should be like. 40/45 should be the minimum for the heavier hitting assault rifles while the rest should be like 60. If it really hits hard I could see 30 working

Tbh, it would be cool if the new armor made you 100% immune. Imagine dropping the gas strike right on top of yourself and a mob and just killing everything whilst in the cloud.

Boosters need a balance pass. I would also like to see personal boosters added and you choose one of each. Oersonal boosters would only affect tou and be a lite version of defining a class.

This makes me only feel relieved at no longer taking endless rocket devistator volleys from three football fields away 👀 However, it wasn't an issue for teams that I ran with as we all generally had SOMETHING that had innate stagger or blazing fast ttk and focus fire tactics. So....if I DID take a death from a rocket devistator, it was from a fresh patrol that spawned in outside of my field of view, or my dumb ass not completely hiding behind the rock of choice properly. I'm just waiting for the "shield devistator guns now overheat" change, as the gun clipping through the shield they carry removed any ability to flank and kill. Even a hulk has to turn with it's chaingun. Keep some consistency here.

Agreed that no new booster isn't a big deal and that they need to adjust the old ones. I think some of the most powerful ones (Hellpod Space Optimization, Vitality, and Stamina) need to be completely re-done. These boosters currently just have very simple and inherently-powerful effects, making them boring but also making the game feel bad without them (so they're picked every single time with no diversity). Give Helldivers those effects by default and give the boosters significantly weaker effects. Change examples: HP Space Optimization, have players start with full stims, full nades, and nearly-full ammo by default, with this booster giving you those last couple of mags (the full stims/nades effect is really what makes this booster crazy, honestly). Vitality, maybe bake the damage difference into players by default, making it so that the booster just gives you limb damage resistance (it'd still be good, but the damage resistance difference with this booster is currently too huge to pass up). Stamina, give players the extra stamina by default, the booster would then just give the stamina regen (would honestly still probably be an insta-pick for me, but the booster having both of these effects is insane, traversing the map without this booster feels sluggish and awful). Normally we talk about wanting to buff things, and these all sound like nerfs, but realistically these changes would buff the player so that the boosters themselves aren't must-haves like they currently are. If everything else stayed the same, I think the changes above would still put these up high on the booster pick rates. Some of the other boosters also obviously need buffs (the extraction booster shaving 15% off of the extraction timer is pretty sad, considering that it does nothing for the rest of the match, as an example).

Gonna call it now the stim pistol, is going to be another meme weapon like the throwing knife. IMO if they made the stim tracking to the closest diver, it would be more viable. If people can't imagine it be a tracking projectile give it an in universe world explantion like the stim locking on the Divers radio signals etc,

The rag doll is real. My buddy and I can handle helldive on our own it’s challenging but super fun cuz it forces us to really work together and communicate. The other night tho two games in a row it seemed like we couldn’t even stand up. Go from one rag doll to the next until dead rinse repeat. It was super annoying l, we had to drop down a difficulty.

Nerfing rocket devestators helps especially when there's a few bot drops and patorls of them converging along with those random ones sniping across the map. The ones I hate are the sheilded ones, the non stop laser show gets frustrating. I'll still get this warbond, it doesn't take that much effort to grind super credits. The stim pistol will be helpful. I can see higher level players sniping lower levels lol

Warbonds are functionally free. At the 2 month rate that they seem to be coming out even casual play should see enough credits earned between bonds to just pick it up when it comes out or you could spend an afternoon farming all the super credits up if you really want to cheese it. You get 300 credits back and this is one of the most fair deals in live service gaming, they should be applauded as they could easily be charging a few buck per stratagem or skin as the vast majority of live service model do. Somebody's always trying to ice-skate up hill I suppose.

I hope we get an anti-automaton based warbond next or at some point. I do like this one though, armour looks cool and so do the new stratagems, I do like gas, green looks better than orange to me XD.

We really need a vehicle even if it's only just faster than running it will help negate some storms or allow so many more options when playing. I like the warbond can't wait to get cooking with the flamethrower and gas drone 😂

Here goes some leaked changes Eruptor shrapnel is back, but with smaller and more fragments. Explosion damage nerfed. Scythe takes less time to set enemies on fire. CS gets more damage and stagger Lib Pen gets 65 damage.

Gas = armor melting, makes armored enemies more vulnerable or melts armor Fire = fire damage, burning Arc = stuns, higher chance to stun, chain enemies

well the way it works is they should only fire when they have a Line of sight. that way they wont waste their rockets. That's more realistic you don't just fire at rocks

I would say if an enemy threat was hiding behind a rock with the potential to kill me. I too would blow up the rock and keep them suppressed or deter them from trying to kill me with also increasing my chance for me to kill them. That’s pretty realistic to me.

one thing i will say is some of the new warbonds should cost less SC. the objectively have less stuff in them and etc so they shouldn't cost the same. The new gas one for example is like, what, two pages? no new primaries? only two armors? 500 SC at best. maybe a bit less.

I feel like 1 primary gas weapon would have been nice, maybe like a gas grenade launcher. I am excited for the gas mechanic being more of a thing now but the drop in what we are being given should result in a drop in price. I am excited for the patch and pairing this Warbond to do. I feel this Warbond, Flames of Freedom, and Viper commandos could use a few more things to make them equal to the warbonds that came before. Polar Patriot I wish AH would go back and give a new mechanic for the armor at least but this is nitpicking at this point.

Haven’t watched the video, but judging off of thumbnail, For me, bots are not hard at all, it’s all part of the game. I use the diligence Counter sniper rifle and it one shots the heavy buster bots. If I can’t hit the headshot about 7 bullets can do the trick.

Brothers, I have to disagree heavily, TWO stratagems when we usually get one a month? A new playstyle outlet with the stim pistol AND we get a gas grenade? I have to remind you that gas and fire damage stack and with gas slowing and fire having to knock back, the combos WILL go crazy

To be fair I’m more excited for this warbond than any of the others. I’d take a grenade, 2 strats and a new support pistol over the 3 underwhelming weapons and a booster that the last warbonds have had. Seems like more value to me

The problem is rockets should be deadly. if they hit you. If you hide behind a rock, that's counterplay and should be rewarded. But then the rockets miss and ragdoll you out of cover and then you get hit by another salvo of rockets. Being punished for doing the right thing feels BAD.

33% increase damage here 80% decreased hitbox there I want the balancing to make sense, not be extreme in the opposite direction. Tough but manageable, you know? It just feels like arrowhead are blind as a bat, swinging at code in the dark, hoping they hit something JUST LISTEN TO YOUR FANBASE, theres an entire rework of stats made BY THAT FANBASE that shows the guns are sometimes just 1 damage from a k-o shot. They dont NEED 33% increases, they just need a 1% buff to make them suddenly work as intended
