You CAN one-shot hulks from the back too. In theory, from any angle. So long as you hit the eye. I did manage it 2-3 times with an 90%+ charge shot in the heatsink, but that was mostly down to luck. The problem here is that you need to GUESS where the eye is from the angle that you're shooting from as you can't see it. And, you need to charge it close to full for the overpenetration so the bullet can actually reach the eye. If you want to challenge yourself, it's doable, but not really recommended. It's easier to grab their attention and then shoot em in the eye from the front.

Love how it & AMR are almost perfectly balanced with one another, with one being amazing against infantry, the other amazing against vehicles, both being decent against the other type of enemy too Anti tank weaponry needs some love, the anti tank doesn't counter tanks except for from the heat sink which AMR can reach too Anti tanks should be a 1 shot disable for the main gun of tanks & towers, or just any heavy gun on anything tanky

stratagem jammer any day. it's actually doable no matter what you have. Gunship factory, if you don't have a set up that handle gunship well, it's over, you will need a lot of luck for the hellbomb to explode, especially the double factory one

If you do have the setup for them they're pretty easy though, including the double and triple factories. Well except for when you're looking up taking out the gunships and don't notice you just stumbled into a minefield lol

It can do work against some bugs, the railgun slaps down alpha commanders and is pretty good against spewer spawns. But oftentimes that’s not enough to make it really good vs bugs, I agree with you there.

at least the lack of foot soldier units cut down on drop ship call-ins. I'd rather have gone against that myself. But you never expect a map to be loaded out like that with nothing but Hulks and Zerkers and a scattered few Devastators. I've had the same experience when calling in a stratagem. They almost instantly knock you down and make you drop it on Helldive and Super Helldive difficulties.

I've been an AC cruch since day 1 and last time I tested railgun and it's better than ac on bots no cap. You one shot everything in safe mode except heat sinks and gunships

Shield pack with railgun is also insanely good because the shield can give you those precious few seconds needed to line up a clean shot on priority targets without worry of getting your aim knocked around from stray shots or explosions.

Agreed, I was running the plasma full time from its first release vs bots and always have loved it, but gunship factories made it a pain. Then gunship patrols made it un useable. Hopefully one day AH will add in the what spawns are in each mission section to the briefing section on the globe map, also I've been a big proponent of making them incapable of shooting down the Hellbombs and when the sectors gunship factory is destroyed they all fall out of the sky. That would solve that problem as they'd still be rag dolling your ass non stop while you're trying to call in and activate the hellbomb not to mention the patrols and guards. Or just make safe rail gun drop em in 4 shots or so. Or maybe 5, I'd say solo, due to gunships and turrets, the Scorcher is still king of bot-land.

@@nateg3417 I hear ya but thats only over 90% charge afaik, which is a huge pain to pull off with the lateral movement they patched in a while ago, plus the post buff rail gun entirely works against bots in safe which in my opinion works it the current pop out, shoot and cover playstyle in this era of railcannon and hd2, having to flip to unsafe and either waste shots or under cook the shot as the gun ship floats left to right past your cover for 4 or more shots kinda feels bad. Imho

As to the clever posed video interaction question: I guess I'll take gunships over strat jammers. I've been rolling scorcher, railgun, a turret and two big boom strats. Haven't yet found any other all-round build to deal with bots. But I can get stuck on strat jammers way longer than airships. As it is, I now find bots easier to fight against, solo and in general, than bugs.

Depends how good your team is against bots, some teams I get the match would have been easier and more fun solo, luckily most random teams I get are ok. Against bugs I do have a good time but it's mostly just kiting and mopping up so I get bored of them fast

to Oneshot the reinforced walker, try to avoid the midfront part of their armor. for Berserkers 70% charge to the belly or legs will do im still skeptikal if it can take down gunships

Enemy spawn is dependent on mission type. Like the Launch ICBM mission for example, Berzerkers are going to spawn and likewise on the bug front, Bile Spewers are going to spawn.

After the buff, its basically 90% back to where it was compared to the day 1 launch state. It's as if... the gun was balanced and the other AT options was just shit at the time, but instead of buffing the others, the developers decided to nerf RG, to buff AT on different patch, skip months, and basically here we are. They could've just buffed the other options first and tweak the ones that still overperforms after the baseline was better set, but noo, have to do this gymnastic of nerf and buff routine.

​​@@jorgeencarnacion6291not quite. It slaps on bots but sucks for bugs. Another big comparison is a lot of the most ardent complainers are bug players. Some are justified though, the railgun can easily kill all the bot heavies but struggles on bug heavies, always requiring quite a few shots per heavy. An accurate shot on a hulk one shots it, and it takes a few for tanks or cannon turrets. Works very well.

The spewers specifically (both types) can have their heads popped by primaries and theyre on of the few bugs that die immediately when you do The railgun therefore is only good on heavies and that one singular medium armor warrior

I've personally found the slugger to be a good primary in coordination with the railgun. They are both single target precise shots, but the greater ammo and medium pentration of the slugger lets it function like a mini railgun shotgun mix that's suprisingly great for crowd control. It has more ammo to work with and because headshots against all kinds of devastors/bersekers are one shots it helps ease the ammo usage for railgun letting it be used specifically for bigger or further away targets. It also can usually one shot most troopers with a well placed body shot but if that doesn't work it comes with a crap load of stagger on most things anyway, so as long as you land your hits you can kill or stunlock most of the infantry enemies.

The railgun was nerfed heavily after release, but did receive an armor penetration buff down the road. Numerous other weapons in the anti-heavy (not anti-tank) category, especially the HMG, received multiple buffs which brought them way up in comparison. With a couple of Automaton nerfs last patch, the railgun’s poor durable damage is less of an issue than it was before (primarily against gunships). Saying it hasn’t been changed since the original nerf is like saying the flamethrower didn’t get nerfed, only bug fixed. The railgun itself has not received direct buffs since April, but its target effectiveness HAS improved.
