Helldivers: Is the Pistols DLC Worth It?

I recommend use of these Perk Pistols when pairing with a 1 arm weapon to handle normal Pistol needs (scout suppression while carrying, downed, etc). A Tanto user will benefit from pairing with the Gunslinger most, and a Knight user will benefit from pairing with either the Pyro or Singe most. The Double Freedom user could use any of them, but I would pick Gunslinger over the other two.

Martin Nguyen Yeah, a DLC of pistols without an actual side arm slot brings down the value of it. Bit disappointed. Would've been cooler if instead these were dual-wieldable primaries. Not much better but I'd happily die firing two of those plasma pistols.

Firing plasma requires firing of a super heated gas. No just a battery pack like a laser does.

A revolver doesn't have a "magazine", it has a cylinder. A magazine is one of the key differences the separates a handgun from a revolver. At least you didn't call it a clip.

Dig your Vids! I agree, I don't see it as terribly worth the purchase. I own it, personally, but honestly they should've made it a stratagem/made us able to change basic sidearm like primary weapon. injector/armor/strat priority/displacement surpass a sidearm in.. probably all cases..

i think the singe is actually ok given what its capable of. if you pair it with a single handed weapon such as the knight or double freedom or tanto you can then pull out the singe when you need crowed controll then switch back to your main weapon. and if you go down you automatically switch to your primary weapon so it wont get in the way with killing you at close range

Sadly no. Only weapons and Stratagems get upgrades. The pistols in this pack are perks which aren't upgradeable.

I have the pack and never use these pistols. A cardio boost or stimpack perk are much more valuable mo matter what lvl of planet you play. Also, I find that the regular peacemaker sidearm is equally as good as any 3 of these extra sidearms, so it's basically a wasted perk if you bring a different sidearm. One other thing, these 3 pistols aren't ever good for swamp or snow planets as boots are most likely the best perk choice. Overall, I would say save your money and maybe get the vehicles pack or a reinforcements pack instead, these packs are great and very useful. I would probbly still get the pistols pack though cuz I like to try out everything. XD

I have a very bad memory so when I do the commentary unscripted I re-remember things at the last moment and for fear of having to stop the recording and then resume or post edit I squeeze it in. On top of that, my brain hates me. Seems to frequently go blank whenever I'm recording. It's less of a vocabulary issue and more of certain phrases that'll pop in my head first. If you listen closely just about every video has it's own words or phrase that I couldn't help but say a couple dozen times. But DO KNOW, I'll be working on breaking this bad habit ;)

I feel there's a critical strength in the plas-3 'singe' that was not mentioned in your video. like you mentioned most circumstances you will be using the pistol is when you're in close quarters, but most importantly this weapon is often used when prone from injury. when you're prone, you are effectively immune to the splash damage of the weapon and you can use the AOE power and rapid fire rate to clear a small swarm off of you, potentially allowing you to get yourself back up on your feet. Also in regards to the gunslinger vs bugs, though it is true that you are often swarmed, it also has a reasonably high rate of fire as well, allowing you to kill 3 armored green bugs in one burst at a time (note that on lvl12 helldives, they spawn in groups of 6 only AFTER sounding an alarm also often no more than 2 groups at a time). if you run away to kite them, they chase you and funnel into a dense group. once they bunch up like that its a matter of how fast you can fire and reload while moving as opposed to focusing on landing individual shots. I agree that ammo is a serious concern with this weapon but with proper tactics its not a bad choice in any regard. My choice of weapon loadout for soloing level 12 helldives consists of a rumbler, breaker, and gunslinger. If you manage your ammo and keep it supplied all game, its manageable. and a powerful compliment for spread weapons like the breaker which lack AP against the tougher infantry. as for your review of the FLAM-24 Pyro, I have to agree, as a cost of a perk and even at the cost of an upgraded standard pistol, it is NOT worth a slot in your inventory. Insufficient ability to make a change in the outcome of success, and its role is better replaced by other weapons.

I would buy it again, but it's the progress, man. I loved the game and want to support them, but when something like this happens where all the progress and money is thrown down the drain, there is no point in getting them again. Luckily, my friends are healing me out by getting me Plus, and a few games. I also managed to get Evolve. But other than that, nope. I'm not spending that much time on it again. I can understand that. Hell I've stopped playing some games simply because I lost a couple hours of progress. Losing a Helldivers account is no joke. Takes a serious investment. I just bought the Vehicle Pack and I must say that I really REALLY hate the controls for all of them especially the Bastion...don't know why they feel the need to make everything about this game hard as hell.Plus I feel that since I paid for this pack I should've had the option to tweak the controls for them..they don't even give us that option 😡..though I can tolerate the Hammer Motorcycle a bit..seeing that I fully upgraded all three vehicles I should've got at least 2 drop uses out of them instead of 1.😣
