For Germany: - blinking when entering roundabout: not allowed - blinking when exiting roundabout: required - rear fog light: only allowed when visibility is below 50m due to fog (note that at that visibility, you're not allowed to drive faster than 50 kph, i.e. stopping distance needs to be below visibility range at any time) - front fog lights: allowed for any kind of limited visibility

Kyle SMART move to connect with Sixt! I have rented from them for years and don’t go anywhere else because they’re big, reliable, nice and most of all are cool car people. As an American, let them know that you don’t want automatic transmission and watch them smile. They will be great partners for your channel, you definitely found a fit.

Hi Kyle - welcome back to Germany. Enjoy your time and thanks for choosing the BMW ..AND thanks for your comments on signalling ;-) ..too many people (not only from US :) don't know how to signal correctly. In Germany, signal at the exit, only. If you signal going into the roundabout would mean taking the first exit out again.

@10:06 Not 100% sure, but I don't think you have to signal left if you go more than 180 around one in Norway, but you are taught these days to do it as it helps flow. Basically easier for people in front to see the left side signal on many cars. You still blink right as you exit as soon as you are past the last exit before yours. A roundabout is basically just a one way road going in a circle anyway :)

Just a warning to check your tires when you pick up your rental from Sixt. After some leisurely kms mixed highway and town/city driving in Germany & Austria I noticed that one of the tireas was dangerously bulging on the inside wall - difficult to spot when you pick it up - anyhow, after replacing the vehicle they dinged me for the tire. There's no way it was down to me, so for that reason I have avoided Sixt since then. In addition to the usual photos, make sure you roll the car forward 1/2 a rotation on the wheels so you can check them all round before driving off.

Great to see you back in Europe. I enjoy getting your views on the situation here and your level of knowledge and enthusiasm is addictive. I notice you mentioned the B class and that we may be seeing one on the channel soon. I found the video when you took the Leaf in for repair, the guys knowledge on the RAV4s, B class EVs was very interesting. I hope the acquisition of the electric drive B class will mean we get more of that techie content. Plus I'd be interested to get more of your thoughts/info on chargers that cannot be used by us foreigners. ie what to avoid when travelling around the EU. I'm currently in southern Italy and brought my Model S with me from the UK. I've only not used superchargers twice since setting off 3+ weeks ago. I had to download the enel X way app before I could use their charger in the town square, a double header 11kW no less. But it has worked okay and I can walk a few minutes home, so the speed is not a problem. I bought as an emergency backup, a 3 phase extension lead and Schucko and Italian plug adaptors that plug into the Tesla UMC GEN1 and GEN2. The great quality and reasonable cost makes them a great piece of backup kit xavelec.co.uk. Check them out. This is getting a very long post now, but can I just say, I'm worried about the camera and bracket on the drivers window being right next to your head. If its at all possible to mount it elsewhere to get the shots you need? PPS That wasn't fog! 😁

For rentals, I think some type of required 10-15 minute video watch in order to rent an ev. Video would show apps needed, how to charge, etc. To not have to watch the video you have to check a box saying you are familiar with ev's and don't require instruction.

Hello Kyle, I drive the iX drive50 myself. Also all options on the car. Truly love the car. There is one big issue. If you drive roughly 1500km or more you will hit restrictions on the chargingspeed. no more 195kW, instead you get 140kW (this is the start of the trottling) and on the next charging sessions you only get 106 kW till 43%. From there it is only 45kW. If you have time try it out. For me this is unexeptable for a car of 140K€. What do you think. Any change to test and make a video out of it (you can use my car if you want).

@HenryLoenwind
@HenryLoenwind Жыл бұрын
Most likely, yes. Those stores are usually rented out to an independent operator. If they calculated with gas station throughput (and the size of the old store suggests that they did), their calculation was way off. Now that the station operator has actual numbers, I expect another store operator to rent that space soon. They'll probably cut the space in half to save costs (in rent, furnishing, stock and operation).

So happy you used the iX. We are doing the second part of our Europe tour next year, and hopefully Sixt is an option. If you intend to get shit done, do not use a Tesla as you will charge way more often especially at high speeds. No phantom braking and capacitive touch steering for driving assist is superior. Recording a video on a Tesla would also be hard thanks to that poor sound insulation.
@benzo5799

Newer teslas (pretty much all of them are often times better than the competition at faster speeds (at lower speeds they are waaaay better than any other brand right now). Yes capacitive buttons are worse, but are still good enough. And no, teslas sound insulation is excellent for the price. I dont say its the best (because it isnt) but its pretty easily as good if not better than last generation luxury cars… I dont get the unnecessary tesla hate. The model x would have done exactly the same as the IX in this video, so why would you spread that unnecessary hate ??

We want to continue watching you, so avoid driving 160 mph on public roads. Too dangerous. That speed belongs on a track.

Maybe try a #FastNed charging station? this network is spreading fast in Europe, with reliable experience and fair prices. And please, please, remind your audience that TESLA is the LEADER in charging AND vertical EV mobility solution. BMW is OK, but only relying on .. competitors’ Charging infrastructure. Thanks much! Love you videos ! (Where’s Alicia?)

When you are in Leipzig maybe you can meet up with KZbinr Felixba and get to drive his Model S Plaid at proper speeds 😉... and I think he already got the brake upgrade

Nobody signals on the roundabout near me in Evergreen/Conifer Colorado. When someone does, you think, what an idiot. You do need to be a good option Quarterback to navigate it though. IE, release the brakes and go, or stop, immediately, when the car you're watching commits.
