I got to see the Doors, in Honolulu. Must have been '69 or'70. They put on a life experience, not just a concert! Try 'Strange Days', 'Waiting for the Sun' and 'Riders on the Storm'.

There were only four members, but two members started with another band that included the siblings of one of them. The siblings quit, so Morrison and Manzerek started The Doors.

Was out in 68, I'm a music historian. I'm glad I can help in this way. Moonlight Drive is another great song by them.

This song was written about a black girl that Jim Morrison saw walking towards him on the beach, she was the Dusky Jewel mentioned at the end of the song.

Love this song yet heard it in 68. Definitely one of the greatest singers in music history. LA Woman, Moonlight Drive and Love me Two Times are great. Worth reacting to. Keep up the good work

The Doors is one of the most unique band,,controversial ,dark, unique ... This song was written by Jim Morrison the lead singer,,, inspired by a sexy black girl he saw on Venice Beach....hes one the most iconic rock star, revered by his charisma , looks and his unique voice..... he was a highly complex guy, bright ,wild unpredictable and above all a poet ..unfortunately he was very selfdestructive and died from alcoholism very young in France ... his grave in Paris is a shrine for music lovers......

Try to remember it was a revolution thru music, kids were tied down by parents , but after world war 2 things had to change, people were starting to think for themselves, watching more news etc, it was the sensation of knewness,. Look at music then it's played today many times, but in the 60s we never listened to music 50 years before it was tooooo square
