Jim Morrison had an IQ of 149, that’s above genius. He was captivating and considered one of rocks best front men ever. He could kiss you with his voice then ring your neck. Rocks first real bad boy. Also, the first performer to ever get arrested on stage. He was the epitome of Rock N’ Roll. Gorgeous, dangerous, unpredictable, talented, brilliant and comforting all at the same time. His voice was mesmerizing and haunting and so manly. I’ll always miss him and I’ll never tire from hearing that voice. He hated being known as a sex symbol and wanted to be taken seriously as a poet, so he grew a beard and gained weight. No one saw Jim in his casket but his junkie girlfriend Pam. Like keyboard player Ray Manzarek said, “Jim had the money, wit and motive to disappear because he was facing 10 months in prison. There was no autopsy done and Pam had him buried before his parents even knew he was dead. For all we know his casket could be full of old books and empty bottles of booze and Jim could be on some island somewhere. Long live the lizard King. #RIPJimMorrison 🙏🏼

Out of all the Rock Stars rumored to still be alive Jim Morrison is the only one where it's actually possible. If anyone voted fake his death it would be him. Wouldn't it be hilarious if he and Elvis are a couple of old guys sitting on a porch somewhere in the carribbean sipping a daiquiri and laughing their asses off? :)

@@Antonjlavey Yeah, thanks. I know about his Admiral "Gulf of Tonkin" father. I wasn't disagreeing but I don't think you are either...just adding useful information. Thanks! Have a good one! (I believe Paul McCartney died in '66 and was replaced with his musician double, between the mop heads & the hippy stage. "A Day in the Life" was supposedly written for Paul's death. As well as others. Abbey Road and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band have lots of symbolism. John Lennon hated Billy Shears/Campbell, I think Yoko was the fall person. Funny that Paul only played bass then all of a sudden, he's playing drums & piano. Look at the "video" for "Hey Jude," look at John Lennon watching very carefully. Plus, Ed Sullivan (?) mentions no one has seen them in a while. Jayvee TV - another reactor - didn't recognize Paul after the change. Diff. height, eye color, ears, natural part in hair, awkward at playing bass all of a sudden, had to learn to play left-handed. I saw Ringo Starr come clean when he was the last Beatle to live to tell. They called him Faul - fake or faux Paul. I've seen home footage of Lennon referring to him as "Faul," as well. That's my conspiracy for the day. Ha ha.)

This was supposedly written by Jim Morrison when he was hanging out at Venus Beach in California and an attractive young Black lady walked by and looked him up and down as they passed each other...and he liked what he saw. Hence the line: " Do You Hope To Make Her See You Fool/ Do You Hope To Pluck This Dusky Jewel". "Dusky" was an old fashioned way of describing a Black person. So, the story that I heard about the song and how it came about is that Jim Morrison was on the beach and this beautiful black woman walked by and that was the reference to the dusty jewel in the lyrics and he wrote a song. I don't know how true that is but when I was introduced to the doors when I was younger I just read everything I could about them and then the movie came out with Val Kilmer and it's been an interesting ride.

The Doors were actually a really good live band.. Jamel, you should check out some more live stuff from The Doors. I remember I wore out The Doors in Concert double cassettes back in the day.. Strange Days and Spanish Caravan are a couple Doors tracks I don't think you have done yet..
@Kell-hee-hee-hee3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that, Jamel. Of course, studio is better. He screams "Hello!" & you can hear his voice really well & the last part that was low, you can also hear what he's saying. But, I don't think I've ever seen them perform this song. That was nice. You know, this reminded me of "Lotta Love," 1978, by Nicolette Larson. Just the title. You might like it. Brass section (I think), kind of a Linda Ronstadt ("It's So Easy," "When Will I Be Loved"), Juice Newton ("Angel of the Morning," "The Sweetest Thing"), Rita Coolidge (Your Love is Lifting Me Higher," "We're All Alone") kinda sound. I think it was covered by others but hers is the one I heard all the time. Since I switched genres, Olivia Newton-John had some really great songs in the 70s & some fun(ny) 80s songs like "Physical," funny video. "Let Me Be There," "If You Love Me, Let Me Know," "Hopelessly Devoted to You," "Have You Never Been Mellow," "I Honestly Love You" (very much a love song) & "Magic" another 80s turn. Have a great night!

The Doors are awesome. I have a crush on a lovely friend. She knows how I feel, but she likes being single. Still we have worked out an understanding and I think we can be good friends for years to come which is great as she is an awesome person.

They did a few live versions on the Ed Sullivan show which would be great to watch. "Light my fire" was one of them and "touch me" was another one just to mention a few.

The Doors were musical artists not afraid to experiment with different styles and sounds

I just listened to "The Wasp (Texas Radio and the Big Beat)" yesterday. That brought back memories of the first time I heard it. Please check that one out along with: Love Her Madly, Break on Through, Touch Me, and Love Me Two Times.
