I love seeing a movie in the morning! I agree about not having to have material things to "prove" your fandom. Just because someone has the outfits or memorabilia doesn't mean they like the thing more than you or they are the "bigger fan". That is a very gatekeepy mindset. If two people like the same thing, celebrate it together!

I’ve been thinking a lot a few weeks or so after I filmed this video. It reminds me of this art exhibit in the 90s by anti-capitalist Barbara Kruger. One of her pieces said “I shop therefore I am.” It has me thinking about why I feel the need to externalize my interests in the ways I present myself to the world (my home, my clothing,etc). Food for thought 😂

Love that beetlejuice shirt! I love going to the movies early. Lots of space and just us oldies in there chillin. Also, no one sees you in a dark theatre. Look how you want! Having the house to myself is my favorite, and is so rare for me. I also have a hard time relaxing when I have time. I constantly think of things I "should" be doing instead or feel guilty for not doing them. It's a struggle. I'm glad you got that time to relax!

THATS EXACTLY HOW I FEEL! All the “should be doings” really suck the fun out of relaxation time 😭😫 And the energy required to undermine those default thoughts adds to the exhaustion. The struggle is real!!

Starting a new job is definitely overwhelming. So glad you were able to take some time to unwind. I agree with you about Beetlejuice Beetlejuice as far as it not being as good as the original. I did have fun watching it but definitely not what I expected. I loved the autumn vibes and it was really funny though. My kids laughed so much. I loved seeing them enjoy it. Yay! Autumncow! I love that book so much! For self care, I let my husband take the kids out of the house while I just enjoy the quiet. I get takeout so I don’t have to cook out a charcuterie board, enjoy a cozy movie, and just get as comfy as possible. Great video!

I literally ran to the theater after a workout last night to meet a friend for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice 😂 I was sweaty and still in workout clothes! I don't think I would have enjoyed Beetlejuice Beetlejuice if I watched this one at home! I was in a packed theater, sitting next to some small children ( maybe too young 😅 ) but they were singing Day-O and were super into it! 🥹 The whole theater gasped when the Bob scene happened 😂 and there was a standing ovation at the end 😆 seeing the enthusiasm around this sequel has warmed my soul and I'm so happy another generation gets to experience it 😭 like I was crying when everyone was clapping 😂 Love this weekend vlog!! 🍂🎃🍂🎃

I feel you on trying to stuff everything in on the weekends while also wanting to relax and do nothing at all. The wekeends are usually when I take the time to catch up on the tv shows I’m watching which is definitely something just for me.

Yesssss - it’s the “trying to stuff it all” scenario that just causes more stress for me. I’m thinking of plotting out more small weekly hobby sessions where I set reasonable goals, like 30 mins of timed reading before I get too sleepy. When I wait to read until later in the weekday evening, I just fall asleep 😴🥱

We are very alike when it comes to early matinees. I suffer from social anxiety and depression, so I go to early shows. When I get back home, I'll be seeing Beetlejuice. I've heard mixed reviews, but I'm hoping I will like it. I love your little marshmallow stay puft guys. They're so adorable. Self-care is so important. Sometimes, you make yourself go through the motions. I like to give myself facials, and I enjoy soaking in bath salts. I understand what you mean about lying in the tub. I usually shower first, then pamper myself in a tub. I'll light up a candle and have a music playlist play. It also helps to invest in some Phillips Hue-like bulbs. You can have ambient lighting; some apps will create a changing color atmosphere for you I hope you share your spooky bachelorette party. I've always called Sunday afternoons The Sunday Blues! Lol, awesome vlog!

I prefer going to see movies earlier in the day, too. I definitely like to dress comfy for going to the movies. There is something so satisfying about hot coffee, especially when you add pumpkin spice creamer. I'm hoping the weather feels more like fall here soon. Tarot was so bad it was good. I laughed so much throughout the movie. The premise is cool, but the execution was ridiculous. My favorite line was, "He's an earth sign. They found him in the dirt." I put Tarot on my annual spooky season watch list just for the fun of it.

I used to do like big outfits, like full cosplays for movies, but I’m trying to be more casual. I did definitely splurge a little to get the Walmart pieces, but I knew I’d wear them a lot and I adore the musical so am pretending it is musical merch I couldn’t get anywhere else. Yes! It felt very like a movie that was designed to be like a coming of age or family drama, but had ghosts. It looked almost Hocus Pocus-esque with the fall aerial shots and the biking around the area. Love the Target pieces! I need to check mine out soon since I think school stuff is done.

I always go to the early shows! I had fun dressing up and seeing others dressed up and excited! For me it was more of nostalgia fix, I loved the movie and cartoon growing up! But I completely agree that people shouldn’t feel pressured to dress up or keep buying to maintain a certain “aesthetic.” And really enjoyed the movie but there are definitely things I think could have played out better or were unnecessary!

Oh wow, that Beetlejuice game looks so fun!! I think I enjoyed the movie more than most because my expectations were so incredibly low. I left kinda wishing they had done Beetlejuice Goes to Hawaii instead which was a script idea kicked around in the 90s. I agree about the aesthetics though. His last 3 projects (Alice, Dumbo and to a lesser degree Wednesday) are more kid oriented and I really felt that in this film. 👀 Decision paralysis is so real! A couple of years ago, I noticed that I was getting sick whenever I had a break from work. Turns out your body will actually come to view rest as such a shocker that your body will rebel. Who knew? That was the year I finally took my email off of my phone🎃 I appreciate the intentionality of this video, especially as I am really struggling to find any equilibrium this semester (The Sunday Scaries have become all days ending in Y lol). Any free time I have is spent in nature disconnected. But then I feel bad for missing online events because I want to support people so the search for a better balancing act continues. Wait Beetlejuice in Hawaii was an option?! Holy hell. Why didn’t that come to fruition? I would have 100000% loved that more. So campy and so kooky! The journey for balance is an on-going endeavor. In a similar vein to your struggle to disconnect from the online world, Im also considering creating less because I’ve found so much of my time taken up by editing. It makes me feel anxious about what I might be enjoying more with that time. The cost benefit analysis of what I get out of creating videos about my hobbies versus actually doing the act of them 🤪

I was sort of forced to take a step back from everything and I'm finding it really interesting what I miss and what I've just been doing because it became routine. Selfishly, I'll miss the weekly videos because they are my faves but you enjoying the process is the #1 priority. Definitely something I'm telling myself as I decide what I am staying a part of in 2025.

As a 90s baby I didn’t like the movie at all. Actually the worst movie I’ve seen so far this year. Hell Tarot was better than Beetlejuice in my opinion 🤣 Tim Burton should have left this one alone or gave us a second movie YEARS ago! I love fall, October, and Halloween. However, where I live, we had an 8-day heatwave from 09/30-10/07 when it was averaging 85-95 degrees daily. How am I supposed to get into the Halloween spirit when I am roasting? Fortunately, it has cooled down quite a lot since then. However, it seems like climate change is taking away my area's fall and winter weather. It makes me angry and sad, as I have always loved the transition from summer to fall/winter. I hate hot weather. I wish that it never got hotter than 60 degrees where I live.
