Hello, Young Lovers - The King and I (1956/ 1992) - Julie Andrews, Deborah Kerr
------------------------------------
"Hello, Young Lovers" is a from the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, The King and I.
In the 1956 film version, it was sung by Marni Nixon, who dubbed Deborah Kerr at the time.
In 1992, a studio cast recording of the musical play was made, starring Julie Andrews as Anna and Ben Kingsley as the King.
Since Marni sings very differently to Julie, I had to adjust the video quite a lot. It's interesting to hear the differences, but having listened to Julie so many times by now, my preference is her interpretation of this song.
It seems to be much more powerful this way.
