Both versions of “Cleaning Girl” are equally disturbing, for different reasons. The original version has no background music, so all you can hear is a strangely catchy and upbeat song playing with dark visuals. I come from a family of addicts. My whole childhood revolved around drugs. I was horribly abused and neglected all due to drugs. My parents are dead, my family is gone. Same with my brother. But that didn't stop him from becoming an addict himself. It can happen to anyone. Sometimes it doesn't matter how much misery you see or endure as a result of drugs. It can still get you if given the slightest chance. For my brother, he wanted to be a part of our father's biker gang. He wanted to be one of the guys. Wanted to be close to our father. I worry about my brother but I can't have him around, he's attacked me. I miss my mom. I miss my brother.

We used to until our government started criminalizing drug use. As a kid my uncle did meth and something went terribly wrong and he got in trouble. I sat there and listened and my mom told him something. "Wenn das so weiter geht kannst du dich gerne nach Amerika begeben. Da kannst du abgehen wie du willst aber nicht hier." If it goes on like this just go to America. There you can do as much shit as you want. But not here.(sounds pretty harsh in eng lol) I will never forget these words honestly. And I didn't understand until I met a meth addict from the US who went to therapy here. After a few weeks being here he told me about the problems of where he's from. I forgot where he was from but it's somewhere in the midwest I guess.

This is so interesting. So many of these commercials use sensationalized imagery which is absolutley non factual. Which will then lead to people trying it with no accurate information. They will think that their use is nothing like these commercials, so the commercials lied, so the drug must be harmless. It is dangerous to push stylized horror filmish commercials for a political agenda that has racist and classist origins and finances the worst of the worst criminals in the world. The title of the organisations "for a drug free america" is really not smart because humans and animal alike have and will always be consuming things to stimulate them. We need harm reduction and adequate information about drugs and a legislation that controls the alcohol- tobacco- and pharma industry and in the best circumstamce would legalize and control all substances. I really enjoyed the video! Some of the ads were great, the 2018 opioid ones and the one with the puppets are amazing to illustrate the problems of the opioid epidemic. Thank you for collecting them all and for uploading

I agree. My friends and I used to watch these kinds of videos on youtube and laugh while doing all sorts of drugs.
@bananatiergod4 жыл бұрын
It's hard to do that without awareness to what the drugs can do. A lot of them are dramatizations but plenty of them also have solid truth to what the drugs do to you. The Montana Meth Project is a good example since they take it all from real-lifen occassions in a country that used to be flooded with Meth addicts before the project started.
@user-qz2ld3vt2d4 жыл бұрын
@@bananatiergod I think what you have to do, is adress all sides of drug use. Talk about classes, and the differences between them, and the issues with every single class. Tell them what can happen and how often it happens. I think one class on it would be able to do a lot of good. Especially if you combine it with watching a documentary about people with addiction. This way you really get the full package, of the positives and the negatives.

I'm glad to see some new ads here. Is that overdose ad real or a very messed up parody? I've just started watching this vid, so what is going to happen when the PSA's are sensored? Pretty bad that they make you sensor anything. I thought the whole point of a PSA was to get your message across. Sorry, commenting as I'm watching, I see you're back to the classic meth commercial on this one...never mind, there's the alternate. Cool that you have them back to back.

You should hear the stuff that used to air in the middle of the night on talk radio in the mid 90's from the Partnership for a drug free America. One of them is girl who describes seeing herself in a casket talks about getting dressed for the last time and she hates her clothes selection and how they don't fit her because she died of a drug overdose. Another one is a guy who talks about how this day was supposed to be his happiest day in his life but he is being buried because he died in the bathroom from snorting too much and died of a heart attack. This stuff used to air like 2 in the morning and used to spook the shit out of me
