That non-sequential youtube complaint is *exactly* why I love it when creators make playlists. If you in a playlist, it always gives you a 'next up' right underneath the bottom right corner of the video. The only major problem I've had with that is, when it's a show that gets updated regularly, it seems like the order is reversed? I dunno, sometimes it seems like the list is in reverse chronological order and that really fucking throws me for a loop, and makes the whole thing a lot harder to use. >:c

Squarespace = Designed by designers. KZbin = Designed by engineers. There's your answer. :) And yes, as a tiny KZbinr, I can't stand the backend either. I pay to use the excellent TubeBuddy extension just to make it LESS awful. But KZbin basically has no competition and thus, no incentive to improve.
@BrennenSprimont929 жыл бұрын
+Parallax Abstraction To be frank I fail to see a way in which youtube could improve. It has some of the most complicated compression algorithms to allow for the most efficient use of data communication paired with an audience that is 1/7th the population of the world. KZbin is both a software engineer and a marketer/advertiser's wet dream.
@PXAbstraction9 жыл бұрын
+Brennen Sprimont The backend UI could be improved immensely without having any impact on things like the compression technology. The TubeBuddy extension demonstrates just a few ways KZbin could make things better. You are correct in that KZbin has an extensive population. That combined with a near total lack of real competition is one of the main reasons their MANY issues (technical, design and support wise) aren't being dealt with. No incentive.
@AkiSan02 жыл бұрын
what did you snort? back then youtube wasnt made by engineers. maybe if you stretch the term beyond its limit and include data cobblers and greedy idiots as engineers (though that actually cant be further from an engineer ). today youtube is made by idots. plain old idiots. and it is governed by mentally ill nutcases and greedy corpo nutcases. literally not a single feature in the past 6 years was made for the USER.

I used to work at McDonald's and people experiment all the time with food, particularly at night when it's slow. I was the manager on duty, so nobody could stop me. Deep frying apple pies with ice cream and caramel sauce. Sextuple quarter pounders with cheese to see if someone could eat it. I once tried to make chicken parmesan out of a McChicken, ketchup and cheese (not a success). I also made a double cheeseburger with the breakfast sausage patties instead of hamburger, and it was surprisingly good. One of my favorites was "30-second fries". Literally take the frozen fries from the large bin, put in the fryer for only 30 seconds (normal cook time was like 2:30 or so, can't remember exactly), and salt generously. They were wonderfully warm, mushy, mealy, salty goodness.

Back before starbucks had the venti, their sizes were short, tall, and grande. Grande used to be their largest size, hence the name. A short is 8 oz, tall 12, grande 16. A short cup is also a "kids" size cup. I worked for starbucks from 2005 to 2009 during the college years. Since the cups are still avail for kids drinks, they are still available to make short size drinks. If you order espresso shots to go, that is the short size cup.

Iv seen a lot of those complaints before. Along with others. I remember when I first joined youtube I didn't use it much other then to look at videos. Then while going to college was able to finally upload something to the site. I worked on a film project (very short about 11 minutes, which back then meant cutting it into two 5+ videos because of the 10 minute limit video thing) I did the film, did a months worth of editing (first time using adobe, and editing in general) uploaded it to a few sites like break.com and youtube. The video worked everywhere else but youtube. KZbin had a strange problem of freezing the video in spots but the audio kept going, or like speeding up the video etc. I eventually had to go back and redu the whole editing thing (cause of outdated software) and spent about another month re-editing everything back and then was finally able to upload it to youtube (by then there was the 15 minute limit instead of 10 minutes) and by then I was so tired of seeing the same video over and over again by editing it and such that I just didn't care that it finally worked on youtube. Then there was the annotations I tried using which were a bit wonky back then. And I just don't like youtube that much. There are way to many problems. "Then why do you keep using it?" It isn't cause I want to, its because everyone uses youtube. It's like asking "why do you drive a car to work?" Well cause everyone else does. There isn't very many viable options for changing. Same with youtube. I have looked at other sites like break.com or vimeo but they just don't have the same reach as youtube. Everyone uses youtube (even though the site is pretty bad considering how many people use it etc) and thus you get a better audience reach with it. More people know how to use youtube and know about youtube then say vimeo or such.

As a KZbin user, that *was* interesting. Also, the 200 video limit really doesn't work for KZbin as a music platform. Also, KZbin's playlists are really crappy for organizing your music anyway. Seeing as most of their money comes from music, you'd think they'd improve these things.

In defense of Grey's microwaving coffee, I can't drink an entire pot by myself in one day, so I'll still have some left over the next morning. I don't want to waste half a pot of coffee, so I just put some in the microwave to reheat it. Sure, it doesn't taste as good as it does fresh, but I really, I just need something to wake me up.

Cards and End Screens to this day still aren't a sufficient replacement for annotations and it absolutely bothers me. They really should have updated the annotations system instead. The most useful usage of annotations is to add notes of corrections for the viewer. If something was wrong in the video or time has changed the facts, I used to be able to add an annotation noting as such. Now I have to hope they'll read the description or pinned comment, which not everyone will. They really should have worked on annotations :/

I just looked up the Taft office setup and I have to say it isn't as appealing as that humble little abode in the last episode. Also 25:15 I also microwave coffee, I had no idea it was such a taboo amongst the community of coffee conisures I do sometimes use a water heater but the microwave is fast and instant espresso doesn't even need warm water. And about coffee icecream, I don't hate it, it can be pretty good, but there are a lot of flavors I would go through before I choose it deliberately. Also also 28:35 I don't think I have ever smelled a wild flower that I would describe as sweet or even pleasant. Rose's have always been offensive to me, lavender is ok and vanilla smell really good but the actual flowers just smell vegital to me.
@endrankluvsda4loko1726 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the people working for youtube are more worried about how things look than anything else. Is this change better in the way it works? Is it was people want? Does it make viewing easier? Does it make uploading better? Who cares, as long as it looks prettier! Well, we haven't made any major changes in 2 weeks so yeah let's do it!
