Thank you for this, Katy! I think for those of us (at least, for me at 26) who haven't had relationship experience and are in our mid or late 20s, it can feel very isolating and like there's something wrong with us (standards are too high, our appearance/attractiveness, etc.). I think it's really important to normalize finding your person a bit later (or without a lot of relationship experience). I'm so happy for you that you found Jack and I'm rooting for you two!

I’m 28 and I’ve never even had my first kiss, let alone been in a relationship before. I do beat myself up about it sometimes but I’m holding out with the hope that I will meet someone who treats me with love and care, and not like I’m a liability sometime soon. Also - sending lots of love your way ❤️

I’m 40 years old and just married last year. And my husband was my first “real” relationship at the age of 37. Sure I dated, was in situationships that went nowhere and being single in my early 30s made me sad. In my mid 30s I was like “alright. Guess I’m Team Single Forever! Let’s do this” and straight up lived my very best life. I even tell my husband that I’m thankful I didn’t meet him sooner because this was the perfect time❤ let’s normalize not being or doing things by a certain age! Love this for your Katy.

I love this Jenny!! Congrats on the wedding, and for normalising that these things don’t always happen like a linear timeline. I hope you are happy and are having a lovely day ☺️

Something my now husband told me when we were still dating is that every relationship with have it’s challenges and struggles, it’s about choosing who you want to go through with that with. Who is worth going with that through. It was perfect and gave me a sense of calm that oh it’s not always going to be sunshine and rainbows but who do value enough to make it all worth it. And choosing each other with every new day.

Classic Canadian moment, but big comfy couch is actually a Canadian show! It aired first in Canada in 1992, and then PBS picked it up in 1995 and was broadcast in Canada, France, Belgium, Mexico, Russia and the USA

Being in a healthy relationship with a person who is truly your type both physically and personality wise is a constant process even after years of being together. It’s normal to have doubts or anxious thoughts “because it’s too perfect”. The most important thing is to be self aware and talk about the things you are struggling with. And then, when this stage of having fears is over, and you get used to be in a healthy relationship with your perfect person, there comes this stage where you sometimes forget how lucky you are to have met each other. It’s very important to be grateful and appreciating of the person you love. I am happy that you are in a good relationship with Jack and wish you both well on your journey together.

Katy, tbh I haven’t watched one of your videos in a while because I just feel like you’re living the dream and it’s hard not to compare myself. But I am in the same boat of never having been in a relationship and wow I really needed to hear this today! I don’t feel envious I just truly feel so happy for you and hopeful!

I'm 25 going into 26 and have never been with anyone. I always feel like somethings wrong with me. I'm a hopeless romantic. I see my friends finding their people and I sometimes feel like everything I should be experiencing at certain ages is just passing me by

On the same page heading into 26 with no relationship experience but after self reflection i think this is the best version of me to meet someone and have the capacity to be a partner (at least mentally lol) i am reframing this season as a blessing and an opportunity to grow! It’s a different journey that can sometimes be lonely, but we are free! You got this internet stranger and when you meet your person it will be serendipitously perfect!

I’m 28 and I’ve never even had my first kiss, let alone been in a proper relationship before either. I’m (like Jordyn in the comments above me) treating this time as me loving and embracing my full self, so that when I am in a relationship, that self love is already there and that that other person is an addition to that joy. Sending you love, you will find your person some day, and I also hope the same for me too ❤️

in my current relationship, I experienced the same auto sabotage for exactly the same reason. It was everything alright, and that was really weird to me. I learned that the truly love is calm, peaceful and easy. It's diferent than we've learned that love is always going to be painful, hard and makes you feel anxious.

Katy, I met my boyfriend on hinge around the same time as you. I was single for 4 years after being in unhealthy, narcissistic relationships. I wanted love so badly, I also felt I was so picky and that I would never find my person. I will say I agree 100%, it happens when you least expect it. I feel we have gone through this together with finding that. I am so happy for you.

🎶🎶 "Are you ready, are you ready, are you ready to clown around, with Loonette and Molly, her clown and her dolly on the big comfy couch" YES.....I totally remember that show!! Great video and love hearing your thoughts! I'm 23 and don't have a boyfriend yet. Never have in fact. I just don't feel ready yet. I feel I will know when I am. 💞Sending hugs from So Cal.

It's crazy how many similarities there are between your relationship and mine xD I got my first bf in 2020, I was also 27, we moved in together after 4 months, saying I love you was super scary to me, even our months of meeting were similar. Matched in May, dated in june, became official in July. And yes, it definitely feels like coming home ❤ Also, thanks to my bf I started admiring my butt more 😂

This is very similar to how I met my bf. We met on Tinder (lol), I put very little effort into my outfit or anything bc I was not taking online dating seriously anymore at all, we met up on a Monday evening just for a drink, and.... that was 4 and a half years ago and we live together now lol.

Hi Katy, Thank you so much for this video. I am 31 years old and I really struggle with dating. I have had 2 boyfriends but only 1 serious one that lasted 2 and 1/2 years. I have been on many dating apps and been on many dates. They always seem so good when we are writing back and forth on the app. But, once we meet, it goes down hill and it never works out. I then start to self doubt myself badly and have bad self esteem. I always feel like the minute I get happy, the universe takes it away from me. It is very frustrating and gets to me mentally a lot. It's very hard, especially when everyone around you is either dating, engaged or married. Katy, I am so incredibly happy that you met Jack. Jack seems so incredibly sweet and you guys click so well. I honestly believe that you both were meant to meet. You deserve the same amount of pure happiness and love that you so freely give to others. ❤

Great video. I always love a good sit-down from you. I can relate to the late bloomer thing. I had my first kiss 5 months ago and I'm 25 🥴😂. Love seeing others happy in love. It might not happen for me, but I appreciate others stories very much. Can't wait for the London vlogs

Thanks for being real with the self-sabotaging reaction… So true for most women 😒 It also takes courage to talk about it so openly ❤
@waleskadavis89510 ай бұрын
I’m older than you Katy but I don’t think there is a woman that hasn’t felt less than or insecure about something whether is looks or anything else. I love these vulnerable conversations that are honest and we all can relate to. When u said you had moments when you self sabotage or looking for red flags even when u are in love … I get it. I believe is the fear of getting hurt or the fear of this love not working out and lasting. Having a partner that loves you through it and past all of what we don’t love about ourselves or perhaps don’t like feels amazing and can happen. Love is not a unicorn… it’s just not always easy to find. Sometimes you really do have to kiss a few frogs 😅❤❤❤ I believe it starts with loving yourself and that takes time and effort. Best of luck and just enjoy it… live in the moment

Aw Katy thank you so much for making this video! There's so much confusing dating content out there, but the vulnerability and openness you bring to the topic makes me feel the most validated and comforted by far. Please keep making these chatty videos about relationships because you're helping so many of us! xx

I know you're saying you aren't planning to get married fast, but like you just mentioned 1 year ago not imagining you would be in a relationship like your, I just feel 1 year from now you will be engaged and starting weddings plans, since I found you a couple of years ago and started listening the podcast, I always felt like you would find someone and be like, "ok, I'm done, he's the one". And I'm so proud of you for not settleling. I love how honest and open about your feelings you are, you deserve all the happiness you're feeling now.
