My husband and I agreed ahead of time that I wanted to have a bit of a “heads up” on the proposal so I could get ready and wear the outfit I wanted lol. So one morning at 5:30 am, two of my best friends knocked on my door and handed me a hand-written letter from my husband saying essentially “today is the day. Get ready and come to our favorite date spot”. So I got ready with my best friends which was so fun, and they drove me to the Lincoln Memorial where my husband proposed at sunrise with my parents, sister, and closest girlfriends watching from the distance. It was so special, and now every time we go to Lincoln, it always brings back the best memories!

My dad proposed to my mom while they were decorating the Christmas tree at home! He got one of those plain gold ball ornaments (the kind where you hang it on the branch with a little paper clip) made into a ring box! they still put it on their tree every year

Aaaahhh my proposal was in December (best month of the year!!). We took turns planning dates each week, and so he woke me up around 4am (because I love sunrises 😍) and we went to this beautiful terrace overlooking a massive Christmas tree and beach and popped the question! I loved that for the first few hours, we knew no one else was really awake and we had a gorgeous hotel breakfast buffet and stayed in our little bubble!

My mom and dad were married 74 years this past February. Dad died in May. When my dad proposed to my mom, he took her to church and went and knelt down at the altar and proposed to her. ❤️

My husband flew down to Florida and surprised me on a family vacation! We were taking photos on the beach and he just popped out of the bushes! I had no idea he was coming and he’s not a planner at all so he really surprised me! It was so great!

I’m front FL by my whole family’s from NY. I visit NYC every winter after Christmas for my birthday week which is 12/27. My husband knew it was important to me to not do it in front of family but to be able to celebrate with family after and that NYC is my favorite US place. He didn’t do it on my birthday because it would be too obvious and I picked out my ring months prior so he wanted to still surprise me somehow. He planned a beautiful day walking the Brooklyn bridge into DUMBO, we had Luke’s Lobster for lunch, and he proposed after on our stroll in the park under the Brooklyn bridge. He surprised me with a photographer which snapped pictures of our engagement with the city skyline in the background. While not private, it wasn’t crowded. After coming out of being blissfully unaware that people were watching, I heard faint claps in the background. Later we celebrated at dinner with my grandparents and my cousins. It was really special🥹

My Husband and I were on a cruise in 2019 & he proposed in Key West on a little beach that was secluded. It was nice and props to him because he hired a photographer so he got lots of shots of me ugly crying 🤣

I recently went to a friend’s wedding in the countryside (in the UK) where our place at our tables was set with a small jar of homemade honey from the farm where the wedding reception was held which is also owned by the groom’s family! It’s such a cute way to do place settings!

Question to all NYC people: I am going there in December and I have been checking for restaurants, cafés etc., also keeping tips from influencers like Katy in mind. While checking the menus, I am shocked though, its is nearly impossible to find a restaurant with dishes below 20/25 USD, and if, then it's only the most basic dish they have, while the rest is maybe 30/40 USD. Are these prices normal for you/for an average restaurant in NYC? Do you have any recs for places a bit cheaper, but still good - I am absolutely not a gourmet, so it does not have to be super fancy, just a nice location and "normal" food :D

I always told my now husband I wanted a private engagement. He surprised me one morning by bringing our planned puppy home a day early than I thought. I woke up to our new puppy on our bed. Then we headed to the living room to enjoy her when he handed me a letter from ‘our puppy’ asking if I will marry him 🥹 obviously said yes and it was so perfect!

Our friends have a fall party/bonfire every year and there is a lot of land behind their house with trails and eventually leading to a golf course. We went on a walk there one year and had our first kiss…the following year, same party he asked me to marry him on the same walk under the trees at dusk. And he picked out the ring himself and did an awesome job.❤

My husband proposed to me at a hilltop restaurant in Orange County, CA. He had made reservations timed to the sunset. Presented me with a dozen roses before we left (I was already suspicious!), and just seemed nervous. I had a few friends get engaged in the previous 2 months, and was just sad. (Lol what a girl). He had a bit too much to drink at dinner, and basically said, what would you do if I proposed to you now? I got teary and was kind of frustrated- I said, don’t joke about that!!! So what did he do, he called the waitress over to video (which looking back, he said he should have asked her while I was in the restroom)- it was too dark for the video, and all you see is shadows and hear me crying. But he got down on one knee and proposed! Wasn’t the smoothest of proposals, but it makes for a funny memory. There’s more to it that made it more funny- but you get the idea. Alcohol+nerves+ emotional girlfriend= chaos. Lol. We’ve been married 6 years, and have a miracle baby too. (He also has a 24 year old!)

My fiancé proposed to me in June this year 🥹 He booked a weekend away for us, and spent the morning cooking me breakfast, then we went to a small town and did some shopping and got lunch, then he took me for a walk in a beautiful area and proposed on a tiny private beach 🩷 He surprised me with a photographer that he paid to sneakily follow us around so they were able to capture photos in the moment and I will cherish those forever! We plan to have the same photographer at our wedding 🩷

My husband proposed to me in Paris. We had the trip planned and had been dating 3 years so he knew I was suspicious that it might happen on the trip. He proposed the first morning of the trip because he wanted the whole trip to be a celebration of our engagement and he didn’t want me to think he was proposing every time he bent down to tie his shoe haha. He told me the morning we were getting dressed that we had a fancy food tour to go to that day - he dressed up so I knew to wear a nice dress. Then we went to the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens because we were “early to the food tour.” We walked around and he proposed in front of the Medici fountain bright and early in the morning. We’re both private people and wouldn’t have wanted to do this in front of a huge crowd. I turned around and there was a photographer who captured the moment and then proceeded to do an engagement shoot around the beautiful gardens that we had all to ourselves. He had reservations for lunch at the Eiffel Tower to celebrate.
