The Lego Movie Movie Description:
Emmet (Chris Pratt), an ordinary LEGO figurine who always follows the rules, is mistakenly identified as the Special -- an extraordinary being and the key to saving the world. He finds himself drafted into a fellowship of strangers who are on a mission to stop an evil tyrant's (Will Ferrell) plans to conquer the world. Unfortunately for Emmet, he is hopelessly -- and hilariously -- unprepared for such a task, but he'll give it his all nonetheless.
The Lego Movie is a 2014 computer-animated adventure comedy film co-produced by Warner Animation Group, Village Roadshow Pictures, Lego System A/S, Vertigo Entertainment, and Lin Pictures, and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. It was written and directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller from a story they co-wrote with Dan and Kevin Hageman, based on the Lego line of construction toys. The National Board of Review selected The Lego Movie as one of the top films of the year. Although it did not receive an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature, it garnered numerous other accolades including Producers Guild of America Award for Best Animated Motion Picture and a nomination for Best Original Song at the 87th Academy Awards.

So fun facts: -They were originally gonna pick a different actor to voice Good Cop, but Liam Neeson said he could do it himself. And he did it like a pro. -Vitruvius saying "You better write it down, cuz I'm not gonna remember any of it" was actually Morgan Freeman saying that for real, as he was annoyed with the writers changing his lines. And they just animated it in the movie.

It gets better. Neeson recorded the lines for both Good Cop and Bad Cop _at the same time._ In the same take. There's no cutting. Neeson is flipping back and forth midbreath between voices on the dot. Which is really, really crazy hard to do.

The level of detail in the animation is insane. You will occasionally see fingerprints appearing on some of the blocks, like when you handled them with slightly oily fingers; but seeing as this is all animated, someone actually had to think to do that ON PURPOSE. Plus, Benny's helmet is split in the exact same spot those helmets always split.

I can confirm that this movie was fucking PHENOMENAL in theaters--I got to see it opening night, and it's stayed with me ever since. Also this was, I believe, Chris Pratt's first big role since Andy Dwyer from Parks and Rec--before he even appeared in Jurassic World, since the movie released in February of 2014. I liked Chris Pratt before it was cool lol

Emmet is without a doubt my favorite, and one of the most adorable and relatable main characters I have ever seen, like this guy really got publicly disrespected and humiliated twice in two movies so far, I am starting to think the writers are on to something. Edit: Maybe in the 3rd movie, it could reveal that Emmet has been bottling up all of his issues and feelings towards his friends for so long, and by the climax his friends (noticing that he´s been acting strange for the entire movie) ask what´s wrong and if he´s okay, he says yes but they are obviously not buying it, and let him know that he can always talk to them if something´s bothering him, promising to not tell anyone else about it, in the most satisfying scene, Emmet then snaps HARD, letting out everything that has been kept inside for the past two movies, he tells how he still feels scared of being alone, how he feels his friends don´t care about him sometimes when they laugh at him for being ¨weak¨ even though he saved the world, and that it upset him when they took all the credit for that, he says he´s been feeling like this for a very long time and that he didn´t want to tell everyone because he was afraid they were going to get mad at him, his friends then apologize to him (for real this time) for everything they have put him through, they hug him, he cries, the end.

I remember wanting to really see this movie when it came out in theaters in 2014. I remember seeing this with my grandparents and we were NOT disappointed!!! This movie alone inspired me to make stop motion movies of my own because of how well this movie was animated and acted and written!! I saw this movie 5 times in theaters and when I got my first iPhone, this was one of my first movie I bought from iTunes, which the first digital movie I bought was the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie from 2014. But this movie will always be one of my favorite animated movies of all times!! I love it so much and I wish now that Universal Studios bought the rights for LEGO movies for a while, I wish they can continue these movies again! They’re so creative and fun!!! 28:46 it’s because when people just count seconds they often don’t get even time before they get to the next. I can say one, two, three in a one second. It takes about a second to add Mississippi, and helps avoid that problem of counting seconds too fast. If that makes sense.

The other little things like how the legos move, break apart, say things like "be downstairs in five seconds" is all little nuances of how I at least played with legos as a kid! Super endearing and showed the people making this really know what lego was meant to be!

If you need to pause for exactly ten seconds (and don't have a timer/stopwatch handy), you can count "One Mississippi, two Mississippi" etc and it will be ten seconds when you finish saying "Ten Mississippi". (Also handy when you're in a thunderstorm - start counting Mississippis when the lightning flashes and, when you hear the thunder, you know exactly how far away that lightning strike was.)

Counting in Mississippi I mostly saw used by kids back in the day when playing schoolyard football. The rushers on the defense had to count to 5 Mississippi or so before they could rush the offensive team’s quarterback. Was to slow them down a little since there were few, if any blockers between them and the QB because teams were small like 4 on 4.

This was my favorite movie for YEARS, I watched it so many times as a kid. You should totally watch the LEGO Batman as well! Honestly, I think it's even better than this one!
