DIY Tortilla Warmer Tutorial *FREE Pattern*

I've been sewing for 67 years and this is the best tutorial for making the warmer. Straight and to the point, easy instructions. Here are some tips: 1. Use 100% cotton fabric, thread and batting. Avoid dark fabric as there is more fabric dye used. 2. Prewash and press the fabric (not the batting). 3. Do not use fabric softener or dryer sheets when you prewash or after you use it, you don't want the chemicals from the softeners/dryer sheets in your tortillas. I wash mine with my towels and you don't want to use fabric softener/sheets when drying your towels because it doesn't absorb water well when you are drying off. They make wonderful gifts. Enjoy!!! When you put the two pieces together to make the final warmer, do you use 1/2 seam?

No, 1/4 or just stitch on top of the original seam

No, I don't. Perhaps you can shrink this. I would try printing the pattern at 80-85% and then adjust if needed

I used a bowl I have it measured 8 inches across , made a template with it. Turned out fantastic!

Yes, just be sure that the fabric is 100% cotton and prewashed, the thread and batting are cotton. Also, don't use fabric softener or dryer sheets since you will be heating the tortillas and don't want the chemicals from the softeners in your food.
