Steve, I appreciate this much-needed presentation of the Veil. Why the modern world is not staggered, or at least intrigued by this is hard to fathom. Viewers may find some of the complicated back-story worth reading about in Paul Badde's books, 'The True Icon' and 'The Face of God', both published by Ignatius Press. There is also a DVD - 'The Holy Face' - also available at Ignatius. By all means, read! I have to tell you, since first coming upon these books and images, whenever I call to mind Jesus, I see a face that is a blend of traditional ones and that amazing face somehow bestowed upon the byssus cloth, once known as the cloth of kings, and which should be known as the cloth of the King of kings!

jane - It is a 'cultural' thing, the driver was probably Italian. The pavements/sidewalks are also for drivers and riders to use to circumvent hold ups, so it seems - watch out pedestrians!

my question is why did veronica used the very tiny cloth to wipe Jesus face full of blood, it's almost dont work or enough to make Jesus face comfortable..

This is not the veil of Veronica, this is the veil placed on Jesus's face above the shroud by His holy Mother, the Virgin Mary. The shroud of Turin miracle was made by a mixture of Jesus's body liquid, sweat, blood and ointments while the face on the veil miracle was probably from the burst of light at the moment of resurrection. On the Shroud of Turin you see the dead Christ while on the veil of Manoppello, you can the risen Christ. I do not know what this is ,,,,, but it is NOT the face cloth that has always been presented all my life time ,,, and I have all faith in the Shroud,,, but NOT this at all.

I agree, the shroud has a scientific explanation of massive amounts gama ray radiation caused by extreme energy of the resurrection but this looks like a silly picture. Light energy does not work this way.. eyes with iris and pupils?? And the teeth? Come on man!
