Helloween had 5 lifes. First area "Raw Helloween" with Kai on vocals ( first Album ) - Then second area with the 2 Keepers with Kiske on vocals - Third area with Pink Bubbles and Chameleon without Kai - Then New area With Andi Deris ( 10 albums + many lives ).....and finally the last area with the come back ok Kai and Michi Kiske !!! Happy Helloween !!

Though he was not a pro singer, Kai's voice fits like a glove in this Helloween's era according to the metal style they played back in the day which was real fast, aggressive and virtuous. The Walls of Jericho (extended verion) album is, probably, one of the best metal works I've ever heard.

I remember buying this cassette when it first came out. Wore it out from nonstop playing. Kai f-ing ruled. Perfect voice for metal. Walls of Jericho to me is their finest work.

Extraño de sobremanera este tipo de música y de cantantes...aparentemente ya no existen y ya casi es un olvido en estos años...Kai Hansen como cantante, compositor y guitarrista es difícil de igualar, su estilo propio y desenfrenado ya no se ve...fueron y son impresionantes sus tonos, sus altos, su variación, es realmente increíble. A mi entender, en este tipo de música, salvo otros ídolos vocalistas (sin considerar la guitarra) como Diano, Dickinson, Dio, Guillan, Halford, Ozbourne, entre otros, tantos otros, que lamentablemente no existirán nuevamente...Mis humildes agradecimientos a ellos y a tanto otros artistas, que han construido un estilo de música muy diferente a lo habitual y lo esperado...

- I think that Helloween should do the helloween documentary... from early days to now... as far as im aware they dont have that kind of material and it would be great to see all those years of playing on stage and in studio and everything... i think it would be cool for the fans to see what was going on in history!

If Kai had more control over Helloween's direction post-Keepers, I'd be willing to be that they'd be mentioned in the same breath with Maiden and Priest (well, they ARE in my house, but you know what I mean) for all time. But, as much as I love Michael Kiske and am loyal to his legacy, his own desired direction for the band just wasn't good for them (I'm assuming that's why they fired him later on). IF Kiske could've been happy letting Helloween be what they were on the first three full-length albums (and a combination thereof after Keepers), that's just an unstoppable heavy metal force right there. Kiske still sounds GREAT even to this day (2016) and Kai still has that brilliant, melodic speed and skill along with a seemingly-endless wellspring of creativity and energy. They would be what Gamma Ray is...and MUCH MORE. They would've been the REAL Helloween that can only exist in my dreams now.

I believe this is @ Aardschok Festival at the Dynamo, April 20th. On Dynamo Open Air the line-up was: Atomkraft, Mad Max, Vengeance, Testament, Stryper, Destruction. Can't remember seeing Helloween there on that day @ DOA.

One can clearly see why Kai left the band as well as why Ingo openly hated their later stuff... This here is the real thing - so full of raw energy and so hardcore and thrash. This badassness was erased with Kiske and the overall childish fairytale image of "Keeper..." and later stuff.

But it was Kai's choice to leave the position as the singer. And "Fairytales" are the keeper songs also not. Kai also wrote alot on these albums, what you can clearly hear on Gamma Ray. Fact is: i also like Walls of Jericho more but "Halloween" is one of the best songs ever.
