Michel Kiske was only 17-18 when he recorded this!

I agree this is I believe the first true power metal album but I think bands like Judas Priest, Rainbow, and even Iron Maiden laid down the blueprint for what would become power metal

They are The Godfather’s of power metal. First and best. Have you done King For 1000 Years yet? Deris on vocals and another 13 minute masterpiece. It’s the continuation of the Keeper of the 7 Keys. Kiske is the only singer on this album. Kai only sang on Walls and the EP and Deris replaced Kiske in 1993.

ROOTS. You just connected the dots on Lovebites style. THIS is why I was instantly hooked on Lovebites when I discovered them. I thought Haruna played drums like Ingo Schwichtenberg. I thought Miyako and Midori played like Kai Hansen and Michael Weikath. So many noob reactors keep comparing Lovebites to DragonForce. NO. Lovebites is more like "Keeper Era" HELLOWEEN! "When Destinies Align" sounds like it could have been on "Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 2"! Remember: When Helloween released Keeper-1, the Lovebites girls weren't even born yet! From what I learned while digging into Lovebites background, Haruna's favorite Helloween album is "Master of the Rings". ( Which came out after the Keeper albums, and features a different singer and drummer. ) You are late to the party. You need to listen to all the early Helloween stuff. They are a key influence for many metal musicians of today.

I'd imagine a bunch of reactors do the whole Dragonforce comparison is because the closest they had reacted to in the past is Dragonforce, or they just know Dragonforce from "Through the Fire and Flames" from it's enormous history on KZbin over the years. It's easy to see, though, when you listen to Helloween, especially this earlier stuff, that THEY are definitely who Lovebites SHOULD be compared to, as you said. That connection is made for me now and I can't wait to listen to more Helloween! Thanks!

@@GlassMoonGaming What you said is true. I also think it's a generational thing. Gen-X grew-up on metal. Gen-X knows metal roots. DragonForce came later. You connect the dots to what you know. Lovebites is bringing back the metal roots for a new generation. It's why Gen-X metal fans love them so much. Also because they are hot women. So how can we not like them. 😁

@@AgentBeans well that, and also music teachers in Japan teach this music in the schools. All musicians have their influences. You can trace it all back to the classical composers. Pretty much all "metal" is either blues-based, or classical-based. Or a combination of both.

I'm getting to know your channel now but I already leave a suggestion, react to The Temple Of Hate by Aquiles Priester.

Better late than never, my friend. Do yourself a favor and attend to one of their gigs that comes near you, you won’t regret it. Btw, thank you for this reaction, it’s a brave melting song from a face melting album
