I doubt Gantz will get any, anytime soon. Considering the omnibuses are still being released. Not even half way in the series yet (the omnibus stopped at vol. 15) so it will take possibly another 5 yrs atleast for it to be done. DH gives no fucks about Gantz so it will be very unlikely it will get the hardcover treatment although I do agree and hope it would.

I would buy a Gantz Delux version without a second thought. However, I don't see that happening any time soon and if it does its going to take for freaking ever to get all of them. Dark Horse started releasing the Omnibus version in 2018, 3 years ago. 3 whole years (gonna be 3 years in August) and they have released 7 only Volumes, which covers only from Volume 1 to 21, basically half the series. At the current snail pace rate they are going it will take another 3-4 years to get the whole series just in Omnibus format.

I'm praying that Trigun gets a deluxe edition. I'd take it over everything else because all the omnis and single volumes are expense as heck and out of print now. Plus, the chaotic art seriously deserves to be seen on giant pages.

Gantz does have an omnibus in larger format I believe, just nothing close to the treatment that these beauties are getting. The Berserk Deluxe volumes are some of my favourite books that I own, period.

It may not seem deep upon first read or watch, but "Hellsing" is incredibly character-driven, and nuanced in its philosophy on the human condition, as well as its relationships. This had a lot of great information on the specs of these books, but in terms of the content, sells it short.

indeed! it is basically a war themed epic story, it even uses epic tools like deus ex machina and enumeratio. there is so much mise-en-abyme in it, smart cultural references so it is definietly a masterpiece. also Hirano Kohta must know really well theological nuances as well

I wanna see trigun, drifters, and lone wolf and cub the most in thesr editions. I know people want gantz but atleast thats in print, i think it would be better for series out of print. Trigun only has 14 volumes so they could make 5 deluxe editions with 3 volumes each. Lone wolf and cub has alot of volumes but its finished, and drifters is on going but i would still love to get into the series so a reprint would be nice especially in the deluxe edition format

Is the translation different from the original paper backs? When reading the original I noticed that some of the dialogue was a little clunky like it could’ve been worded better and be a little more fluent when reading it. During the time of the original manga was released translation wasn’t as good as it is now, not saying there are no translation errors nowadays but it is better than two decades ago. So I’m wondering if the translation was updated a little bit.

I can’t confirm one way or the other myself because I sold the original volumes in preparation to pick these up. The translator is Duane Johnson, who I believe has been doing translations for decades so he may have done the translation for the paperbacks as well, but if he didn’t then there’s at least one possible piece of evidence to look at

I want Lone Wolf and Cub, and glad to see I'm not alone. I have those tiny omnibus, and am constantly wowed by its amazing ink wash painting art (if that's the correct term). Would go crazy seeing it on such deluxe oversize format. I normally don't double dip, but will definitely go for it. Still on the fence of Hellsing. I borrowed first 2 volumes to check, but couldn't dig into, especially hate the cartoony sketchy comedy pieces inserted in, that ruining the coherence of the atmosphere and art style. But the deluxe format looks so nice...

Viz has recently been doing "All in One" Box Editions that just give you a case of the whole series(such as Bakuman, Demon Slayer, Dragon Ball/Z etc), and I think Chainsaw Man is the next one slated after the MHA Part 1 Collection releases(since CSM Vol. 11 just released last week there's gonna be some cooldown.) It's not quite as dope as an omnibus, but at least there will be some viable option to get the whole series soon.
