I'm actually willing to bet that Max0r is a sentient editing software that crawled out of RussianBadger's old PC and ran wild on it's own. Joking aside if you like the style of one of them, chances are the other's style might be up to your alley too, although Max0r is more of character being videogame-John going by himself, RussianBadger is more about himself and his group of... *chaotic* neutral friends (emphasis on the chaotic part)... I'd say.

So if you're confused about the Red Manor and how to reach the boss, there's two ways you can go about it. You can either A. Kill all the NPC Tarnishes that Tanith has you go kill which gets you instant access to the boss by simply talking to her... OR B. you can find the secret passage (which isn't that hard) and traverse through the hellscape to reach the portal to the boss. Max0r took the A Route but decided to take the B route because it's much closer. (Either that or he didn't know you can talk to Tanith and have her send you back to the boss's room). And that weapon in the boss room is the only way you can beat the boss (either that or using magic because magic is busted in Elden Ring) You can't get near the boss because of the lava surrounding it's body, and your normal weapons don't do much damage to it. You can fight him without the spear, but it's a painfully long process and even the ghost NPC in the Red Manor tells you the only way to kill the serpent is with that spear. (So the game is literally encouraging you to play the "easy route") And that wind power the spear has is only exclusive to that boss, if you use it outside of the boss it just becomes a regular spear. And I'll be the one to say it. Play the game at your own pace and style for the first playthrough, nobody is going to expect you to be a master out the woodwork. Game isn't just about learning but also adapting to how you play, if you need to use summons then use summons (the game practically encourages you to use them especially if you get materials from crypts to level up said summons.) It's better find success your own way rather than play it someone else's way.

15:09 fun thing, you have to beat the Godskin Noble if you want to do anything in the Volcano Manor via this method. You literally cannot enter the manor because you don’t have the key and need to go the long way around, which involves going through him. I managed to escape by finding a random cave and using the Grace there to lift the curse and TP the hell out. Because at the time I was only about… level 55? I think and the Godskin Noble can act as a Vigor check. Now I can just beat him as I wish but back then I had no clue how he fought or how to survive phase two so I ran away and came back stronger. Which brings me to my next point. Airer, Souls games are not games where you need to Git Gud to beat. If you want to beat it in a way that the very vocal minority insists is the only correct way to play the game, then yes, you need to Git Gud, but that’s a natural progression usually only found after getting strong. And sometimes, getting strong includes getting help. If you want to get to these points in the game, put aside your pride and ask for help. There are always more playthroughs to do things “legit”. I personally am of the opinion that using game mechanics that the devs actually *want people to use* isn’t cheating and that anyone who says that it isn’t the “intended way to play the game” can lick my left one. And if you don’t want to put aside your pride and want to earn your way in, do Varre’s quest line, invade three people, win or lose doesn’t matter, then teleport to Mohgwyn’s Palace using the item you get, then go away from the palace and stick to the left. Boom, you’ll find the Palace Approach Ledge Roads and the best farming route in Elden Ring. Get some AOE spells or Ashes of War and go to town until you’re as strong as you think you need to be.

@Airier Pure magic might not be the best easy mode for you, if your problem is still dying. I recommend a greatshield build with sorcery as support. A Strength/Intelligence build. 1) You need only 12 Intelligence to cast Scholar's Shield, and 18 Int for Rock Sling, to still have a powerful ranged magic option. Also, get Meteorite Staff. 2) You need only 16 Strength for Lordsworn's Shield as your first greatshield. 3) After you defeat Godrick, Nepheli (if you talk to her before) will give you a talisman that helps you wear heavier stuff like greatshields. 4) After you defeat Godrick, Rogier will give you his rapier with the skill you can remove and use - Ash of War: Glintblade Phalanx. 5) You need a rapier or spear - those weapons can be used without lowering your shield. 6) When you apply Glintblade Phalanx to your weapon, choose to infuse it with cold - that way you can proc cold burst damage from behind a shield and your Strength scaling won't go to waste. How this works: Greatshields replace reflex dodge gameplay with stamina management gameplay - you only need to learn when to lower your shield. Scholar's Shield helps greatly with that. Glintblade Phalanx skill can be cast when safe and used to kite bosses. The skill (not the spell version) also does great poise damage, which means it will down enemies in few casts, allowing you to either rush in for a critical attack at the glowing yellow weakspot or safely use Rock Sling from a distance. For weapons, I use Pike for the melee lunge portion of Glintblade Phalanx (push heavy attack button after skill button), but normal Rapier is best for criticals, which you will be doing a lot with this skill. Then just keep raising your Strength and Endurance to be able to use and wear better greatshields. I especially recommend aiming for Eclipse Crest Greatshield at 32 Strength. And Vigor, of course. At least 40. And use wikis like Fextralife to search for the location of everything you need. With this build and knowledge where to get stuff, I can absolutely guarantee you will be able to finish the game.

Man there is so much good stuff I could say about your reaction but all of that gets overshadowed by you constantly saying how you would love to play the game but are not good enough. Little tip. All those people that say Git Gud... yeah they were bad at the game aswell. But they stuck with it and that is actually the secret of Git Gud. There is no actual getting good at the game, it is sticking with it and smashing your head against the wall until you are through. That is why Git Gud is a meme. (Yes you can actually become really good at it but most people who have played through the game once never got to that point). I can understand if people don´t have the time. That is totally valid. But saying they can´t because they are to bad is just wrong. Seriously if you have the time do it. Just like Shia Labeouf: Just Do It! And you will have an experience that is more than just a little dopamine hit. I probably sound like an ass but seriously make up your mind. Talk like this seriously triggers me and not just for this game. Yes if you want to do something and you do not have the means like time, money and other resources or you have binding responsibilitys like a family, all of those are fair points. Then it is a dream. Something you wish you could attain and may or may not be working toward that dream. But people who have all necessitys and still complain are just annoying. An example I could give are people who would love to go overseas but dread flying. They either go through the experience of flying or they say they are happy with where they are. But a person who constantly says they want to go places but won´t because of theyr fear are seriously annoying and most people would probably agree. All of this doesn´t mean I hate you now or anything like that. I just think sometimes people need a kick in the ass and this is it. If you don´t agree with me... well so be it. Nothing I can do about that
