I love how one of his ears is constantly flicking back towards you, looking for reassurance and to listen to any feedback you have. You can tell that he trusts you completely and he's come such a long way from being that scared, uncatchable mustang we saw when you first got him. Such a good boy!

Watching Eton's progress really makes you stop and think. So much of this sport is bloodlines and breeds and dreams of Burghley and Badminton. But then you see this little Mustang who started out totally wild trying so hard. Looking for the jumps, listening and going for it even when it's scary. And sure it's only Novice and there's no telling how far he can go, but look at him go! The little victories, how far he's come! The joy is in the trying, in the adrenaline of racing across the ground and flying over jumps. Eton is already a winner, he's triumphed over change.

My own mare has such a similar personality to this boy. Quiet, nervous, but eager to please. Sometimes I worry I'm not doing enough or I'll never get us to where we need to be but this little guy gives me hope.

There's a place near us (in England) named Eton - pronounced Etun, or even Et'n - so your resonance with 'tell Cindy it's EtON' would be a common mistake over here too. Plus it puts me in mind of watching your video from Badminton - which you pronounced as Badmntn rather than BadmInton, using all the vowels as we would! I guess it's just a difference between English/UK and English/US! Either way, this was a cracking round by the pair of you! I love the fact you're willing to let him go to the end of the rope now, too, instead of hanging on to his head on the ground - you must trust him more (not to run away!), as well as he trusts you!

He is turning into such a pro. Although I detect a smidge of distrust that he might go for a jaunt given the opportunity. Well done to both of you. The jumps seemed to have gotten a lot bigger. How big do you think the handsome Eton can jump? A 2 star event is a huge ask of 14.1.

How is Wy doing? I don't see much of him, is he doing great at eventing(I think its called)?
@hannak90973 жыл бұрын
Wy is only a coming 5 year old I believe (may be coming 4), whereas I believe Eton is an 8 year old, so she has given Wy a little break to grow and mature! Because Eton is older his body is ready to handle more work and exercise while Wy still needs time to fully develop and grow not only physically but mentally too although he, like Eton, has a great brain!

Windy days and wild mustangs9are not always the best combo. Eton took it all like the champion he is. Oh that's right hes no longer a wild mustang. I wonder if it makes the horses feel special when they get to trailer out all alone with you. Do they go back to the barn and lord it over all the other horses?
