3:08 My brain: realizes that there is a huge ditch before the jump My heart: stops for a moment Incredible performance that you and your horse brought in the lap. Very well done and very nice to see you praising the horse over and over again 👍😊 PS: During the whole video, my heart went completely crazy. It's unbelievable how you do manage that
@elliehenry13134 жыл бұрын
@Erica H half the time the horse doesn't even notice the ditch at this level! There's a ground line so the horse knows where it needs to take off, but its safest to have the horse focused on clearing the upright element rather than looking down into the ditch (otherwise that's where you'll end up 😂)! So usually open ditches are there more as a rider frightener... and they work - I'm terrified of those sorts of jumps!!!

Congratulations to you and Lee on a beautiful XC run and your overall 3rd place finish (in a field that included the #1 and #2 riders in the nation). While it is a shame it couldn't have been the AECs, Chattahoochee Hills ain't a bad place to have a great weekend with all three of your rides! I really do enjoy and appreciate these helmet cam videos. Jump 19 (the Tiger Trap after the big barn) looked especially "exciting" from your perspective up on Lee!

You were still awesome girl. That was an incredible ride and Lee was phenomenal. Really strong but I think you should’ve been first place. What do they look at what does it take to be first place? Never hitting the jump with his feet? Time? Or a little bit of everything? Kisses
@liekevertegaal56004 жыл бұрын
It's an overall based on dressage score, jumping faults and cross country faults/time penalties. So the numbers 1 and 2 very likely had better dressage scores
@shadrackzulu61384 жыл бұрын
Lee was in 14th place after Dressage (38.5 score) and 7th after Stadium (Show) Jumping (he had a double clear). A clear Cross-Country (with 4 seconds below opt. time) moved him to 3rd overall. Great job!

why do they take the horses TPR at the end? wouldn't it make more sense to do it at the start?
@meganproffitt4243 жыл бұрын
No because it's normal for the temperature to rise during the course, so taking the temperature at the end helps ensure the temperature didn't rise too high (possibly indicating that the horse would need medical treatment for an infection or thereof) and it can help with the cool down process.

He recovered really well came in with a heart rate of 110 and respiratory of 80 and a temp of 102, which is pretty good for running quick with terrain, and didn’t feel tired at all :) and I’m also not ready for him to peak yet I still have until November to our big event.
