No matter how many videos of you two I watch I never fail to be impressed with how he just eats up the course. Any question, any combination, any terrain. The 'dragon' is amazing across the country. You can see by his ears how much he loves it and is looking for the next fence. He certainly doesn't seem to be showing his age at all. The speed of an Aussie Thoroughbred! Now just to get him to behave more in the dressage arena. :-)

He's so enthusiastic, it's so entertaining! He was funny at that third jump, he didn't want you to make up your mind, he just saw his long stride and flew over the jump.

Johnny's willingness to sail over the diagonal jumps, the triangular jumps, and especially the ones approached from the pointy end is a spectacular tribute to his confidence in your judgement.

Loved his eager anticipation, perky ears and arched neck right before starting. The ears stayed perky throughout...and it felt like he could jump anything. He’s so game and willing. Big hearted for sure. Maybe you should rename him “Lickity Split”! Thanks for a great ride and wonderful video.

You are an absolute pleasure to watch. Such confidence and obviously channeling that thru to the horse. Clearly loads of work done at home as he hardly stands off any of these fences which in my humbled opinion are HUGE and terrifying. Probably why I did cross country 3 times and stayed a show jumper. Maybe you could also let us know where he places in these events?
@donnasmith99396 жыл бұрын
He seems to love those jumps!
@lydiawebster52296 жыл бұрын
My horse will jump anything you put him to in training and in the tight, tricky combinations but on the long runs between individual jumps he looses his concentration. How do I ensure that he keeps it the whole way round the course and on the long runs especially? X

They love their tables in the U.S don't they? Most courses I've watched Elisa ride has 85% tables on each course and once you've jumped one, you've jumped them all. You need new course builders to bring more variation and challenges.....to the table! Lol 🇬🇧

How many hands is he? I am about to buy a horse that I will use for cross country and some jumping, but I’m not sure if he is too tall.
@meganproffitt4244 жыл бұрын
You need to worry more about if you can ride the horse and if the horse is suitable for what you want. Height is irrelevant and almost always is. Also, you’re aware cross country IS jumping?
@lx2286 жыл бұрын

@njh73306 жыл бұрын
As much as I live watching cross country I could never do it. My horse is clumsy and knocks over almost anything because he is too lazy to jump it so he plows every jump down that being said normal jumps are meant to be knocked down and if you hit the pole they fall but in cross country those jumps ain’t gonna fall so I feel as though me and my horse could get Injured pretty bad.
@thehastings58496 жыл бұрын
Actually, many times a horse who is a bit careless over poles will actually respect cross-country jumps a lot more and jump more carefully over them. :)
