I do wish the original lineup were intact.. but I would still love to see Helmet!!!! Page Hamilton is a genius!
@aaronmarko7 жыл бұрын
Though I have to say it's extremely cool of Page Hamilton to keep playing these tiny clubs well into his 50s. There are plenty of artists from the 90s who would rather play these huge festivals and make a shitload of money but Helmet is still grindin' like they're hungry.
@rebeccabroughton1086 жыл бұрын
Page is still the best of the best.
@MifuneYoutube6 жыл бұрын
To be fair, I don't think it's a choice. With Page being the only member of the band from the original lineup, there isn't a demand to see this Helmet.

Page is a damn good artist .Who still has a lot fans world wide.

Page is a very good artist, Rebecca. I'm a fan. But there isn't a huge demand for this version of Helmet. I would love it if he started a new band or side projects.

Page and his boys! I saw them a couple of months ago. They rocked hard and tight. It was really great. And the boys came and shook our hands and talked for a while after the concert. Nice guys. Helmet is one of my favouitte bands, and I'd love to see them again.

Bought the "Betty" album back in 1993. I still pop it into my car stereo every now and then. One of the most unique bands from the early 90s. Something about the tuning of their instruments just hits the right spot for me; this is especially true for the opening parts of "I Know" and "Shirley MacLaine" (from the Born Annoying album).

@reggieclayton33637 жыл бұрын
Well, I hope Helmet keep going for many years. I am sure there is much more music in Mr Hamilton et al yet, and, when either they play a non-21 plus how, or you reach 21 and can then see them, I am sure they will deliver, like they always have done. Helmet are one of the most important bands out there; I'd put them in the same category as Mastodon for innovation and a fresh voice in music.

When they hit it big they hit it pretty big. I think I was 12 or 13 when Meantime came out. We’d take our boom box when we skateboarded and Helmet was one the ones we would have on a lot through the years. Plus some Hiphop from the time, and other heavy bands. Something about Helmet though, awesome skateboarding music.

I LOVE HELMET( the band) but would like to see Page Hamilton and Justin Broderick (Godflesh) form a crunchy band/side project with some other musicians of their calibre. Tommy Victor maybe, but I think he's still feuding with Page.Ted Parsons on Drums and maybe Frank Bello back on Bass. I don't know, just cloud talk...ramblings.

Also Henry Bogdan. Most people overlook him when he was just as crucial to Helmet as Page and Stanier were (he didn’t play the most complicated stuff but I’d be damned if his great bass sound didn’t complete Helmet).

I must admit I 'm actually positive surprised, that they stick to tight Stop'n go rythms, w. a snaredrum, that is NOT like Stanier, but still influenced, with hard hits on very hard snaredrum soun. And thought Hamilton had lost his raw voice he uses in Meantime, Better, etc.. But Hamilton stick to the Helmet style, not trying to pop it or use cleaner voice.. But.. Bogdan & Stanier was worldclass rythmsection for Hamilton.. Unbelievable, he has a master degree in jass (7_7_ -guitar) My cee button is broken. Buthe plays Indie-rockish style w. noisy solo's, not any scale rites .. Love great musicians who dont need to show off, all the time.. But mis Stanier's rice-strings under the snaredrum, so thard it almost sounded like he hit metal drumskin... almost never using the tamtams.. No Pantera, without Helmets Signature riffs : Sop'n Go guitar riffs.. theyve influenced SOO many newer metalbands..

You think is good of a musician is Paige Hamilton is that he would try to bring in some studio musicians or some real talent at Bass and drums but honestly for what I've heard page Hamilton is very hard to work with.
@DonnyBomb4 жыл бұрын
They do the job well but I also saw an interview where page explained that Helmet overall doesn't make a lot of money. So basically you have to be willing to live with that if you play with the band
@MatChew756 жыл бұрын
I mean the original helmet met at Berkeley me you could tell they were quality musicians and you can tell that page is a quality musician but these other guys are a joke that are with him now. They're definitely not Berkeley graduates.
@MatChew756 жыл бұрын
Probably the reason that John stainer and Henry Bogdan are gone
@DonnyBomb4 жыл бұрын
John and henry left because they didn't enjoy doing what they did anymore and wanted to move on to different things
@MatChew756 жыл бұрын
It is not the same without Henry Bogdan and John stainer. And that other guitars they had on the Betty album. I mean nothing they put out since aftertaste is been worth a s***. John Stainer doing just fine W/tomahawk, And well Henry Bogdan decided to start a family and move to Hawaii. But as soon as the three original members decide to get back together let me know cuz I'll go see them. I wouldn't waste my money to go see this wannabe helmet. They're not even close to as good as they used to be
