Help! Choosing Between Similar Etsy Keywords

Thank you for presenting this, and I understand the concept. In your first example, I believe "Onesie" is a trademarked/copyrighted word, and anyone using it on Etsy is at risk of getting their shop shut down! Love Gordon's green and purple background - very pretty to look at.

I was thinking the same thing. That those people using that keyword can get into a lot of trouble. Even just using it generically, it's still a very dangerous word to use.

Thanks so much for this video. I think I spend most of the time looking at searches and competition than I do the engagement. I need to start paying attention to that. Low competition and high searches don't mean too much if people aren't engaging in the searches. I need to refocus what's the most important and use ALL the numbers in my decision on what keywords to use and not use. Thanks so much. Love these kinds of videos. Keep these kinds coming up cause I always have so many questions about search and competition and what to use and so on. These kinds of videos help me see things in a better light.

First I love your videos , thank you so much for always being so helpful. My question is if you have the room in your tags -wouldnt you just use both keywords that you are comparing ? Is there a reason not to?

Sometimes you’re in a situation where you have one tag left to fill or room for one more tag to match with your title and it’s not always immediately obvious which keyword to go with. Why don’t we just add all the keywords without making comparison, we have place for 13 tags and I don’t think we will ever be having one room left for only one tag to decide, this is just a question which confusing me, so, what if we just added the two keywords without comparison will that negatively affect anything?

Thanks for your question! If you have the room to use both, and both are good keywords, you can use them!

You’re probably not doing anything wrong - no worries! 😃 we recorded this video quite a while ago so the stats may very well have changed since then. A good reminder why it’s important to stay up on your most important keywords and know when to adjust things!

You don’t need to be a perfectionist and make sure that every single one of your tags is long tail but if you can get at least half of them (7 or more) then you will be in good shape. 👍
