Each person is unique. I found for me simply reducing carbs, no sugar, no white stuff and no processed foods along with good protein is key at 70 years plus ! Body released 33 pounds this year and that is with very minimal exercise due to physical issues. I take quality supplements and do not count calories. Best of luck everyone.

Yes everyone is different. Im with you there. I make my meals simple or I won’t stick to it. I have one more lb to go and I plan to get her gone by tomorrow morning. Then I will be at the lowest end of my weight window. After 8 years this is the best Christmas present I could give myself. I don’t count calories or macros because it gets boring. I just stick to a protein, some fat and a fruit or veggie in all my meals. And it too cold to walk to lose my .7 oz. Abs are made in the kitchen. I am 48. Merry Christmas guys.

Yes! Fat loss is due to hormonal solutions. It is physiologically impossible to burn fat if insulin levels are elevated. Dr. Jason Fung has written a book explaining this (The Obesity Code). Calories In Calories Out doesn't work if insulin is elevated, and that depends on your particular insulin sensitivity. Insulin is the fat storage/fat release hormone. There are many other doctors stressing metabolic health as a solution, not eating less and exercising more. See Dr. Ken Berry, Dr. Eric Westman, Dr. Calley Means (Levels on YT), Dr. Stephen Phinney, Dr. Annette Bosworth, and so many others.

Tammy this was excellent! I recently saw your other videos on this topic and I increased my protein and I feel like certain stubborn areas for me, I see the fat is melting. Today I followed this video's recommendation and did everything. I also went to an app called My Plate and entered all my meal plan info (lots of homework-lol). I'm excited! I've followed you for sooo long and know the struggles through menopause. I went through it in my early 50's. I only have about 5 pounds to lose, but the fat in belly and hips is the issue. Some may think it's crazy that I'm concerned about 5 pounds, but it's the fat distribution that drives me nuts especially since I'm only 5 feet tall! I'm at 120, but want to be at 117. Although I have maintained about 120lbs for all of my adult life (now 57) the distribution of fat is what gets me. I just don't feel my best. Thank you so much for all you do for us! Thank you for the leg work and sharing all that you know....🥰xoxoxoxo Good luck everyone! 🙂

Tammy, I am new to your channel and so glad I found you! This is exactly what I have been looking for. I’m 66 and have been blessed with my mothers good genes. However, I too have been diagnosed with osteoporosis in my lower back, which my mother suffered from as well. I have had 3 injections of Prolia with absolutely no side effects. My most recent scan has showed significant improvement bumping me back up to the osteopenia level. A dumb household accident has limited me to movement at this time, as I am recouping from a broken ankle. But, I intend to join a gym once I’m back up and moving normal after the first of the year. Like you, I have no desire to be skinny, just healthy and needing to shed my pesky 15-20 pounds. You are truly such an encouragement! Thank you again for sharing! 😊

I am glad women are figuring out what they need to do to get and stay healthy during and after menopause. I’m post menopausal and carried around the excess for over 20 years and trying different methods. I’m not much on counting calories and macros but instead use intermittent fasting and leaning keto. In the beginning, just 5 months ago, I was 58 lbs heavier than I am today. It’s been easier than any other diet I tried. Cutting the sugar was the trick for me. It sounds like what you are doing is working and probably will give lots of other women encouragement. I have been enjoying your videos that last few weeks I’ve been watching. Happy Holidays!

Tammy I Loved your video…I have been on some type of diet most of my life. Sometimes much thinner a lot of the time much heavier. Since I had knee replacement surgery some years back unfortunately I am extremely heavier at this time and turning 65 in May. I’ve always had the mind set to lose weight to look better to others (some type of insecurity I suppose). There’s so much I would like to share with you but alas that would take quite awhile. I do want to let you know the sincerity in your voice and expressiveness hit something in me today. I need to go on this journey for myself…I want to live a long life, and be able to do things I enjoy. The situation with my knees is very limiting, however I believe losing the weight could make a difference for me. Along with being a beautiful woman you are very inspirational and motivating. So I am on board and going to start this journey (the right way for once). I know I’m all over the place with this message I’m usually a watcher and not a commenter, but I had to let you know you touched my heart and I thank you for that. Have a lovely holiday.

We are so bioindividual. I was a plant based person until menopause, and now I’m nearly carnivore. I have been to parties, a cookie exchange, and out with friends and since eliminating all processed carbs and sugar i have no interest in the things that packed on the pounds. I used to eat only chicken and now i crave beef. I’m shocked, SHOCKED by the changes and I’m finally losing. Everyone has to find their own path. 💕

@pamelawalmsley59712 жыл бұрын
I am having the same success on Carnivore as you are. I have lost 10 pounds. in three months. But the biggest thing are the changes. Such as losing most of my back fat and my stomach is getting down so much, I can suck in my tummy. I haven't been able to do that since I was fifty. I am eating a few things that might sound bad but I eat bacon and eggs every other day. And steak or chicken thighs the other days. One meal a day. Leading up to this I had cut out all sugar and complex carbs. I am so thankful that I finally found a way to a flatter stomach. Luckily there is muscle under there from years of Hot Yoga.

Thank you so much Tammy for sharing this. I used to be a healthy size 10/12 and I was happy in my skin. But I also exercised every day doing HIIT and Tibetan yoga. The HIIT killed my joints. Anyway, for 10 years I've maintained my weight nicely. From the lockdown time I started to put weight on, even when I was still exercising and walking 5-8km a day. Maybe because I was enjoying the wine too much. It wasn't crazy at the beginning but over the last 1.5 year it is. I've been diagnosed with Hashimoto and my whole life changed. I feel constantly low on energy, exercising is now something that I have to push myself. I've got too much weight on, upstairs there is a whole dressing room with beautiful clothes that I'm now only visiting and looking at 🙈 My husband is telling me that I'm still beautiful but it's not how I'm feeling. And the most important thing is that I don't feel healthy. Your last couple videos have done something to me. I don't want to go on like that, feeling sorry for myself and only thinking about what I could do. You've really inspired me and showed that it is possible, even after menopause (and everyone is talking about how difficult it is) It means to me that everything is possible if you really want to do it and if you find the right way and tools. So, thank you so much for your help, showing us the side and just bringing it in a human and common sense way. You have really motivated me 🙏 God bless you and I wish you all the best.

Yes, yes and yes!! I guess I am a little confused about when you started - did you utilize your goal weight or your current weight for figuring out your daily caloric intake? On the bright side - I have been losing slowly with diabetic weight watchers. So after watching your first video about this, I started tracking the composition of my food - this past month I bumped up my protein and dropped my fat (due to your suggestion with macros) and I lost 12" off my body in less than a month making this one change (3" alone in my abdomen area) . . . had two occasions where I went off plan but was right back on it. Soooo, it is a work in progress but it is working. Thank you! I am now down 45 pounds - I am on a 100 pound weight loss journey . . . so I still have a ways to go.

Have you tried kefir for acid reflux? My husband said his has stopped since we started drinking kefir. We drink about a half cup mornings and evenings. I make my own and blend with frozen blueberries or mixed berries, some stevia or sweetener of your liking. We are 69 & 70. I’ve lost about 30 lbs eating low carb. When I reached my desired weight I began adding some more carbs. I still stay under 75 - 100. I agree about weight loss being less important than less inflammation!! My main goal was less inflammation!! I have been successful in both.

Excellent! I have tried Kefir on and off ...it seems to aggravate my reflux...that is the tricky thing about reflux...some people are bothered by carbonation...I am not...chocolate doesn't bother mine...but Diet Coke does...I am happy you have found what works for you...HEALTH is the most important for aging...

First of all thank you for sharing your health journey and this awesome resource. There are people out there charging us for this kind of free information. so thank you, thank you! Might you know when calculating Macronutrients on the site, is it your current or goal weight you put into the calculator? Thank you again and blessings to you this holiday season.

Love this! If meat is upsetting your stomach, or it just doesn’t “sound good”, that often means you’re stomach acid is a little low. It is fairly typical as we age. You can get a supplement called betaine HCL with pepsin, there are many brands but Thorne is a good one. You take one at meals and it helps a lot❤

Lose It is a good app that counts macros. You can purchase the Premium version but I don’t and you can still scan barcodes, track you meals and see your macros.

Yes! Love these videos! I'm 78 years old taking an antihormone pill to battle breast cancer and my oncologist says be very careful to not gain weight. I already need to lose 11 lbs to be at the top weight I should weigh for my age and height! Gotta do something....and that 11 lbs is right where yours was Tammy...I'm a. Endomorph also! I also have osteoporosis and am on Prolia shots for that. Aging with health problems is a bi*ch!

Well let's work on you not gaining weight...YOU can do this...sending lots of healing thoughts your way...we endomorphs have to be careful we can get bottom heavy...!!

@@TammysAgelessBeauty True! My normal adult weight in my late 20s was 130 lbs but I had ample boobs, 22 inch waist and, as my daddy used to say "two spans of an axe handle butt" lol!

You look fabulous Ms Tammy!!! You have inspired me to get on the move. Getting older I find I am getting lazy and pleasingly (not) plump. Hoping I can figure out the food portion and make good decisions like it looks that you have. I just want to feel better! Thank you again!😍

Hi Tammy, my name is Debby we are the same age, however different body types. I'm 5'1" hour glass type figure. I started to gain the weight at the same age as you. Last year this time I was 30 pounds over weight. I saw Christmas pictures of myself, and was so shocked! The pictures were a reflection of how bad I felt. It wasn't good... I started on Noom as my neighbor lost quite a bit of weight and she liked it. I lost 1 pound a week and it took months and months and still 5 pounds short of my goal weight. I also have learned that maintaining the weight is harder than losing the weight. I was feeling like myself again, thus I slowly went back to my bad eating patterns. Adding 2 really nice vacation this last summer didn't help matters either...Oh my...😊 So, I gained back 5 pounds. Now I have 2 of those pounds off by using the premium My Fitness Pal App. counting macros. I have some large bucket list vacations coming up and I must be healthy. This time I'm adding weight lifting along with my fun trampoline. Power on!!!!! Staying away from heavy sugars and salts, and eating whole foods!!
