There was a time when Dark seers vacuum cooldown was only 16 seconds. It has to be one of the most nerfed abilities of all time yet it remains extremely strong.

There was a whole era where its cooldown got nerfed each time there was a balance patch. I think that era ended when finally the patchnotes said "Cooldown increased by 0" as a joke by the devs.

Ever since i've played DotA1, It felt like Vacuum was a spell that feels like it should have been an ultimate instead on how busted it was. It synergized with all the big boy strats back then. Vacuum into Requiem = Rampage Vacuum into a Storm Bolt from a God Strengthened Sven = Rampage Vacuum into Black Hole = Rampage And so many more comboes, Vacuum was the heart of it.

Hey grubby, even though I never played wc3, I have been a fan of yours since 10+ years due to ur SC2 career. We even shaked hands a long time ago at the Homestory cup in Krefeld. I have to say, after SC2 I played a lot of dota2 and it's so much fun seeing you learning the game. This series the coaching sessions is the perfect storm for me and I love seeing you learning the mechanics and dynamics. vacuum cooldown is one of the biggest inside jokes when it comes to patch notes and stuff - there was an update a few years ago (i tink it was 7.27 or something?) where one of the changes was Vacuum Cooldown Increased from 60/50/40/30 to 60.0/50.0/40.0/30.0

Hey grubby, don't let this game affect your perception on Dark Seer! It's a VERY powerful hero that can change the flow of team fights! Solid pusher too. It's hard to "carry" with him since it's very team dependent but still solid!

i feel like recent patch nerfed him pretty hard. shard is meh. no parallel wall and important ion shell things are too far up the talent tree to have any impact. he was much better when double shell/more damage were his ags imo

@@jaded-harper You're right but hes still super fun to play when you have a good position 1 and 2 and you can enable them in team fights whilst split pushing the map. He may be a little weak but hes really fun.

Darkseer tips. When pushing the lane with your creeps, put your Ion Shell on the second melee creep on lane. This is very effective against squishy melee heroes

One of my favorite hero is Dark Seer. His Q and ultimate can has very high comeback potential especially when you have opponents that hit hard like Luna and Medusa.

Hey Grubby, like your videos on DotA2. A think you should make a habit is using Magic Stick and Magic Wand during fights, similar to Potion of Health and Mana in Warcraft. Using it after a fight is a waste of resources. Saving charges for future fights is better than spending them for a miniscule healing. Outside of a fight, you can always get yourself a Salve via the courier and restore your health to reasonable levels if you need it.

Isn't it possible to Wall first and then Vacuum to have double the copies? (I have no idea, don't play this game at all). Also, isn't it interesting to give W to a clone and then E and have the clone chase the enemy team?!

Hey man, this is my fav hero, i had like 300 games and 200 wins at around 5k MMR, please try it again sometime :) Also u got counterpicked hard with Drow and WD, plus u kinda had 0 synergy with your team as no one except CK wants to run at them and he was feeding. Love the vids as always :)

Just because you can punch the enemy, does not mean you have to. You would have had a better chance if you came out after the team fight has started. Fight by proxy, and never let the enemy see you until it's too late. And learn to fear the enemy's casting range like Skywrath Mage's and Tuskar. It's the same idea with modern-day fighter pilots. First to see, first to kill.

Over the last 5 or so years.. Dark Seer would get nerfed for no reason. He's even been the butt of jokes in the actual official patch notes. He was surprisingly playable last patch.. this patch he got nerfed into oblivion.

Carries need to be carried early game for them to repay you in the late game ironic isn't it? Well if you talk about the supports they stay supports for whole duration of the game. I would say for newbies they should play as much of support as they can,the most undervalued and underrated role you can learn so many things by playing support like pressing all your buttons l,target prioritization which is a really big responsibility for the supports you have to really plan which hero to hex or stun or use a particular disable otherwise you might lose coz its your job to set kills on the table so that the carry can eat them. Everybody wants to be offlaner or carry or mid but they don't know how hard it is to be a support and i think no other roles is so complicated as support so you should start with it then maybe go to other roles if you do this the game would be a piece of cake for you no wonder people suck at carrying or offlaning or mid you might see that they die and forget to press their buttons. Play with heralds and you will forever be a herald its okay for now coz you learning the game once a herald always a herald coz its really hard to get out of it the only way to get out of herald is to improve your game then make a new account and calibrate your mmr on that account.

Right after the patch for a week or so there was a huge bug abuse on DS. I’d buy the necessary items like arcane boots and soul ring and save for the aghs, sometimes i bought blink to help the teamfights. As soon as my gold hit 4200, i’d go to the secret shop and tp while i buy the booster and finish the item in base, but before the sell cooldown, i’d sell the item and keep my 4200 for the upgrade like mek, pipe etc. The bug was that i get to keep the “falcon punch” without actually keeping the aghs. I abused it for 5 ranked games and one of them was a double down, although it was a hard game, my bug was too broken and we did a cumbek. Sadly it got repatched but still, yay 😃 😂

Very good, you start buying items instead of consumeables. But you are still using guides on skills and items, which isnt good for you. Prime example are the items you bought in this game. Those are support items and you werent a support in this game. Ogre Magi was your support on the lane and Dazzle was another support. Supports are usually heroes who dont need many items because they can manage with their abilites. Crystal Maiden is a good example. The item guide was for a Dark Seer support, but you should have gone for a damage/CC route and let your supports get the support items. Radiance, Octarine Core and Scythe of Vise can be suggested. You should have also gone for a more pro-active ability build with Vacuum and Ion Shell combos against heroes. You basically ran a two support lane without being able to properly support each other for kills.

Really like your dota vids, even got me to pick up the game again after about 2 years, but this reddit mod level triggerhappiness on the report button really disappoints. I'm not saying to never use it, but that was just so uncalled for. "Silencer isn't moving for 5 seconds," report for afk. "Dazzle is hiding from possible incoming push/gank," - "he must be griefing," report. You're getting made into something I do not like by you snowflaky chat, that sees a smurf in anyone that does a bit better than they would. I'd see the point in reporting someone if they repeatedly behave badly, and won't improve their behavior if asked ingame. I personally have never even touched that button, but that I would view as legit use of it. I got reported by one of those kinds of people last night for not playing well. Even though I said when the game began, that I haven't played in 2 years and will be rusty.
