Some kids take longer. I was convinced my kids would be potty trained pretty early and was always confused by people who didn’t potty train ASAP but now as a parent who has been trying to potty train my 2yr old son for what seems like forever, I get it. My son poop trained himself super early(15mo) but we have tried and tried with pee and he just can’t seem to recognize what it feels like before he needs to go. Some kids just take longer.
@jessieely53632 жыл бұрын
I work with toddlers as a teacher! I can say Pee is normally super easy, but poop is usually rough on kids, but once they get it they tend to always get it with only a few accidents. This little guy is still young and very new to potty training. He will get it soon!
@katecarnes36242 жыл бұрын
When I was potty training my little one, I had him/her sit backwards one the toilet with a toy on top of the water tank. 2 Days later BINGO!! Going poo all by themselves on the toilet. Plus it's easier to wipe their butts when they are sitting backwards. So it's a win/win.😀

This was me. It physically hurt like hell and I was given suppositories in the hope they would loosen things up. They hurt even more. I was also on all 4 over the counter meds you can get here in the UK, the best one being fibre gel sachets. The other 3 were tablets or medicines which were absolutely vile and did very little for me, long term, because I still suffer the same problems in my late 30s, 34 years or so after the original constipation hell.

Went through this with my 2yrs old she was so constipated that she wouldn't pee , witch caused her not to walk because she was so backed up took her to the er , they put a cath in her because she wouldnt pee . Gave her a enema didn't work , so they had to manually take the pooh out :( I don't wish constipation on any child after the blockage was out , she went pooh 2 times ( kinda still hard) they recommended Miralax next day she was back poohing regular. When I see her pooh getting harder I always give prune juice.. I've also changed the whole diet . More fruits and veggies.

My child had same issue. I would feel guilty and hard on myself bc at 3 years old he still didnt poop regularly in the potty toilet. It took him another year to finally, confidently go poop in the toilet. My only advice to this mom & to other parents who are struggling is this will pass & they will go when they are ready so try to be a little more patient and encouraging with your child but mostly to yourself. 😃

I struggled with constipation growing up until I changed what I ate everyday and it’s been ten years and it’s a thing of the past. I canceled wheat, sugar and dairy, you want to cancel sugar and dairy cause those two are binding and when protein from milk comes into contact with sugar especially high amounts of sugar they bind together make large waste matter and I would use coconut yogurt, probiotics and prebiotics help clear and kept the digestive system run well like an oiled machine

I have a 8 year old autistic son and oh boy, constipation is part of our life. What makes it worse is the fact that he is very selective when it comes to food and the food he should not be eating,that is contributing to his constipation, is on his list of foods he eats, which makes it very difficult to remove from his diet. We have also been struggling with potty training, as I mentioned, he is 8 years old now and we still have our days where he struggles to go but that is when he is heavily constipated. You can actually feel where the blockage is when you press on the stomach. He is on medication and it has been going much better but we still have those days where it just seems like the medication helped nothing at all. We have to keep track of every time he goes just to make sure nothing is building up for to long. 😔

Our families potty training problems are the reasons I'm one and done. You wouldn't think such a simple process would be so difficult to teach but you'd be surprised... I've been struggling with mine since 18 months and she's 4 now still no progress. We've read all the books, watched all the tutorials, and have tried every tip you could possibly think of.... She just out right refuses and is a nightmare about it when we try and get her to go. It's not her fault but it's been the one thing we've struggled with for so long and doctors aren't at all concerned when I tell them how bad it is... It's to the point where it's obviously an anxiety issue because her reaction is so over the top about it... At this point I'm convinced it will never happen...

i've always had gut issues. constipation mainly, bloating and pain rarely. anyways my doctor recommended that i gulp a cold glass of milk first thing in the morning, along with these horrible dried fruits (i don't even know what they're called) to help me pass the stool. i hated both. the cold milk hurt my sensitive teeth and my throat. the fruit tasted awful. now i just drink a cup of coffee and most of the times i just have a first couple of sips, have to go to the bathroom, and then come back and enjoy my coffee. turns out caffeine can cause your colon muscles to relax if you're a little sensitive to it. works for me!

Nowadays, if a child has encopresis, they may admit them to the hospital and do a colonoscopy. (They need to be admitted, because the prep is given to children via a tube, because they can't be trusted to drink it.) Often, the clean-out cures the problem.
