“Crippled but free. I was blind all the time I was learning to see.” That’s the best two lines in rock history.

Remember trying to get in the first night?! They had no idea who was coming and only had the middle doors open. The second night they figured it all out. What a BLAST!

This was hands down the best first set I ever saw them play and this was the primer charge. As soon as they touched off the Help as some one commented earlier the energy level between heads and band was stupid electric. And as for the Loser and the Jed never saw better or experienced more intense

This was far and away the best first set I saw of over 100 shows. That Loser! This tour was pretty much perfect.

'89 and '90 were special years for the band. While I consider '68-'74 to be the most creative period, '89-'90 were driven by Jerry's resurgence in health, energy and joy. Compare by looking at videos from '84 and '94 to see Garcia in the depths of addiction. We had so much hope that the Grateful Dead would last forever when Jerry was happy on stage.

Remember this like it was yesterday. Jerry kicked his left leg up and all hell breaks loose.

Gawd, that piano player's voice...detestable. And Weir doing his best Donna G. imitation at the end...ol' Gar seems in pretty good shape here, tho...him and Lesh were the ones I dug!
