I can’t decide who’s more infuriating: his sister for being such a rule-breaker, or the narrator for inviting her over knowing she would break the rules. He should have left the moment he found the hidden message; he has no one to blame but himself. If course, him quitting and leaving unharmed wouldn’t have made for much of a story.

The twist was crazy! Man I have never felt chills like this from any other 'rule-pasta' until now. Great story! Surely going to subcribe for more!
@SeramiNefera Жыл бұрын
A good story and I loved the twist at the end. There is, of course, a time paradox. If older Pym is the writer and hired his younger self (in the future). Then how did the original Pym end up in that past to become the future Pym? At some point in time, older Pym didn't exist in order to hire him for this job. So how did the first "Pym" end up being hired at a haunted house, sent back in time to become the man who hired the younger version of himself? You can assume he forgot to add the rule of "invite no visitors" for his younger self to follow since his sister cannot follow rules.
@chrisspeers4459 Жыл бұрын
I was thinking the exact same thing and I've come to the conclusion that he created a new timeline that is actually a time loop. But only for himself, as I believe the normal world kept going as he disappeared behind the Vale/time. It's probably the mansion. Being a hot spot of the supernatural and beyond the rules of nature. If he found the message in the rules before going, the loop wouldn't have existed. Never go into the mansion, if you do, run. I'm definitely going to rewatch, keeping an ear out for things that would make sense now!
@SeramiNefera Жыл бұрын
@@chrisspeers4459 I kind of wondered about the different things that could be collected by accepting the wrong package. A face or a soul. How would Older Pym know that they would collect a soul for the other mistaken acceptance of a package? Perhaps he witnessed someone, undisclosed to the listener, lose their soul? I wonder, also, if in the First timeline he lost his soul. He did struggle with his sister's death but got over it pretty quickly considering. I don't think I could bring myself to live in a place where I knew my sibling was literally killed/murdered. So I thought it could be a Faustion Bargain of some sort. Especially since he never met the Master of the House yet.
@theColJessep Жыл бұрын
That just looks like a paradox when you look at time as a scalar number always increasing in the same direction. If you understand spacetime as a higher dimension, there is no paradox. The clock creates a time portal, but it's not limited to a one directional change. Hiring his younger self adjusts the entire 4 dimensional spacetime at once in a way that doesn't break causality. This requires 5 dimensions, though. (4 would allow him to comprehend his entire timeline and move back and forth, but not to meet his younger self. With 5 he can meet his younger self in a parallel dimension.) However, if Pym could understand and control 5 dimensional concepts, he could easily fix any issues with rule breaking. This means he is aware that he is interacting with higher dimensions, but cannot willingly change what happens in higher dimensions.

@@klausd.6285Here’s a question for you: A woman walks through an area she KNOWS is a dangerous area, alone and at night and gets SA’d. Is it her fault for going through the known dangerous area? Is it the fault of the person that SA’d her? Going by your statement, it would be her fault and not the actual person committing the crime because she knew it was a likely event and still went. Need proof? If I switch your statement around to fit my example “ah yes, blame the criminal and not the woman for going to an area she knew it was likely to get SA’d if she went. And she went. Literally her fault.” Yeah, not a good look buddy. 2 things can be right at once. He shouldn’t have invited her, that was a bad decision. She chose to break all the rules she could and reaped the direct consequences of her actions. She rebuked and mocked her brother about the rules and, even if the place wasn’t a supernatural death-trap, completely disrespected him and his job. She likely wanted to get him fired because, as mentioned in the story, his pay was 3 times more than what her job paid.

I grew up in a house deep in the country for the first 11 years of my life, and it looked Exactly like this one. I have an image. Same color, Same roof, 2 story with a window at the very top for the attic. From outside the lights glow orange but the room - top left corner was always dark. ( We didn't go in there as it was Badly Haunted ). There was a tall ragged oak tree on the right side, Looks the same too. Surrounded by a tall metal fence. I ALSO haven't lied since I was 8. Specifically 8. This was a Very interesting story, and a Truly Interesting Night.

The Difference I see is the top attic window was 1 individual square window. Not 2 rectangular ones. Other than that, The House and surrounding property looks identical. We had a River some feet behind the tallest trees behind the house. - We didn't have Brick pillars on the fence.

Wow that’s gotta be an old money kinda house , but I guess those homes are more common in the south than the sears catalogue homes in the rustbelt where i grew up. They don’t look like much from the outside but a lot of them have some gorgeous woodwork on the inside. Best house i ever lived in was a sears home, my prenatal rented it for dirt cheap and it was gorgeous (surprisingly not haunted) it was bought by the hospital though and its been rotting since. While I understand hospitals need space the house has been rotting for 6 years now and its quite angering as the inside was this beautiful haven now locked away. I hope people squat inside during winter though it gets brutal here and the house had a seperate heating system in the attic which was finished, it would get cozy and you wouldn’t need much to keep it that way. Theres a lot of abandoned houses out there and i hope people take advantage of that when they can because a lot of the homes here are just neglected by land owners and businesses whos expansion plans failed

I have a hand made west German grandfather clock that has to be wound multiple times to set different aspects of the clocks functions The monthly setting is always the worst when you have to go from a 31 day month to a lower date month because it is all fine gear driven and a specific process needs to be performed otherwise the $150 (original cost in Germany) cost for the clock would end up costing a minimal (when you can find a specialist in the style of clock because I’ve watched many screw up over the years where we had to take them to court over the actual cost to get it fixed beyond the damage the novice at this type of clock performed) of $1500-5,000 depending on what took place.
