That worked but when I clicked on the attachment to be sure it was what I wanted to attach, a new window opens up "about:blank" instead of the actual attachment. In other words, the recipient can't open the attachment. Solution?

My icons are gone. I don’t know what happened to them. Something was hit something was changed but they’re gone. I used to click on them to attach which was like a paper clip to attach my documents and that set for the fonts. That’s the only thing left at the bottom of my composed email

Do you know how to attach a file that i saved to my documents or downloaded to downloads from the internet, like a picture & description of a house for sale or the latest GIC rates or something..whenever I attach something like this it goes all weird, pictures are missing & it's all just text..how do I attach the image all intact as I saved it..I can open & view everything as it was from where i saved it but when I send it it goes to a total different format..with no pictures?? wish I could attach something here to show you what I mean..help, this is driving me crazy..it's got something to do with Google & windows 10..it used to work before I think..

In the email, click the paper clip icon. It will ask to choose a file, navigate to your image and attach.

Yes, that is how Google works. Any file or files that exceed the limit is sent as a drive link.

Ha! I found the paperclip. For some reason all my icons disappeared but for docbox (which I hate) but if I run my mouse over where the paperclip should be, the box changes from white to light gray and the word "attach" shows up. Why did that change, I wonder....

Once you click the save icon, the document is saved. The email system doesn't send any attachments that you have not selected to attach to the email.

You can download the file to your own machine, then send an email to yourself. You can also upload into your google drive from your machine.

This advice is totally useless to me. I know how to add attachments but how the hell am i supposed to add an old email to the one i'm writing, as nowhere does it come up on my screen 'add email'. Back to square one, obviously this can never be done and i really needed to be able to do this.

You can forward the email. This will allow you to attach the previous email and add more to it.
