Chris, I can tell you that Pine trees and Horses don't mix. Pine trees are Natures Lightning Rods. When we bought our place, I cut every Pine Tree down and pulled the stumps. A old Horseman told me one time that as tall as you see a pine tree, that is how far the tap root goes in the ground, so as the saying goes Natures Lightning Rod. And being here in Florida in the circle of Lightning Alley, I don't play with lightning.

Man that looks like one hell of a huge pile to put a flame to all at once. Hope the burn goes safely. However if it stayed within the firebreak and only burned the center, it would speed up the clearing of the other acres! Too much risk and too much to ask but one hell of a blaze. Too bad that it could not be chipped for generator fuel like they do up north, but the trucking miles would make it worthless. As a nation we might need to rethink things a bit and put trash and chip burners in more areas to avoid the wasted burns like this and at least recover the energy for our grid system. Land fill space is not forever and biomass should not be wasted like this but I get it. Just has to add up money wise or it goes to waste. Hey Chris will you film the BBQ for us???
