I have a large family - 9 kids - but we are not close because our births are spread out over 25 years. I wish I knew my siblings better and could live with all of them close by as your family does. I know families don't always get along well but I would love to try it. Thanks for sharing your family life!!

11 in my family, our births are spread out over the same 25 year span. But we are all close, most of us live under the same roof or near each other (like the veggie boys). Family is important. I feel sad for those that don't get along with their family members or don't have close ties.

@@LauraTeKiwiBirb Most of my siblings had moved out before I was born or at least 5 did. That included 4 brothers and 1 sister. My other sister is 10 years older than me, one brother is 6 years older than me and one brother is 3 years younger than me. My older brothers were in the Navy so they did not get back home till they settled down in the States all over the place. My oldest sister got married and moved over 1000 miles away. They all kept in contact with mom and dad till my parents died and now my middle sister is the spoke of the wheel, but they all have their own lives and I know how life gets in the way. I grew up knowing my little brother more than anyone and yet, though I would have loved to keep in contact with him, he is never an emotional kind of guy. I am in my 60's and I don't travel, can't afford it, and with COVID it is probably for the best. Grew up on a small farm but dad also drove a semi interstate for almost 40 years, so he wasn't home all the time. My mom lost her mother when she was 3 and was mostly raised by her sister. A lot of things happened that caused our family to not be glued together and I wish it could have been different. Many people who knew us could not believe we had siblings that were 20 years older than me. I was always happy though and never without what I needed.

I think their Dad has joy in his heart with the family unity he has. Who wouldn’t smile with all the hard work they do Together!!! It’s strictly family only and few farms run with that rule…… I’m sure they were raised with a strict hand but “ I’m Grandpa “ melts when he is near his new grand baby…..I can hardly wait till she’s in bib overalls and pigtails and has everyone captivated…..

Moved to another house n lost my good gaden spot soil that had taken me years to build up. Turned the heavy yellow brown clay into nice light buckshot sandy composted loam . Took years. Now, starting over but old now. No time towait. 20 yards of 4 way compost chichen manure sand loam mix to till into 30 year old thick lawn grass sod on yellow hard clay. Sure hope i can get some decent organic vegtables again. The work starts. Amazed at all the quality huge veggies you grow in massive quantities in that rockie field soil. Can see it's all from the large amounts of grain stover stalks and all the aged manure plus decades of good soil practises n crop rotation along with protecting n using earthworms with their deep tillage n castings.
