I've said it before, and I'll keep repeating it....... This sort of content is KZbin gold. The more of this type of behind the scenes videos you can put out the better the channel is. It's unique stuff, and if you can expand it I'm positive the subs will increase. Thanks for the video, brilliant content.

Perranporth is so unique in integrating the natural contours of its extraordinary landscape without manipulating them. I hope any changes don't mess with this, as it will weaken the character of the course. If it is a question of senior players not able to clear certain elements, I hope they opt for extra tee boxes rather than changing the natural shape of the dunes. Fascinating Sunday Show, as it is a course I play regularly and probably my favourite in Cornwall.

@pan0568. Have no fear, we are not going to be ripping out dunes, its the flow of the course, i.e. the paths are the main changes…

Excellent video, Dan. Always Always love the behind the scenes of a golf course. We golfers take these course designs and management for granted, not realizing the work that actually goes into keeping the course looking and playing up to its potential. Kudos to Nathan for spearheading the improvements, and good luck to making the actual changes. Parrenporth is definitely a cours I want to play. Cheers.

I agree with maintaining the fescue turf and keeping the integrity of the course, and all the points made to improve wear in high traffic areas, and also making a few changes like tee box improvements discussed. I dislike those rubber turf grids too. There was a product called "crumb rubber" that was like a topdressing that was used years ago for the same purpose in high traffic areas. Not sure how it worked years down the road though. Sound like they have a good plan so far. Good video Dan.

Great video Dan. This is the kind of input we need at Lanark. Got to find pretty much 30 yds a hole to get Open qualifying back with no room to gain much more than 150 or so for the whole course by my untrained eye. Great shot into the sunset with the dog at the end btw, but you already know that.

Great to have the Sunday morning show back. Really enjoyed the insight you brought to course maintenance and design. Would love to have more of these. Please please can we get away from gender stereotyping tees. We should encourage people to think of tees as indication of suitable by challenge by distance/length or by handicap. Golf should be about having fun while being challenging. The game is difficult enough without making it grim off the tee. Personally I try to rotate the tees I use to give me a great perspective of a course and would encourage more golfers to do the same.

Wonderful insights into the care and maintenance of a special course like Perranporth. Here in the States quite a few courses tried those black rubber mats and exactly the same thing happened, it killed the grass the weeds flourished. Best wishes to Nate on his plans for this gem of a course.

And as was said in this video there can be lots of subtle changes that just improve things. I also understand that when you’ve got natural ground like there it can be a bit more difficult and that’s why you use the pros

At one point you're talking about older players not being able to teach the fairway and then you talk about having a ladies forward tee charging the par 4 to par 3. We need to stop talking about men's and women's tees. We need to completely change how golfers refer to tees. Everyone should just be playing their appropriate tees.

Another top SMS Dan. Very interesting, but also important in that it shows the playing public more of what goes into maintaining and improving a golf course. As businesses, all golf clubs have to make a profit and investment is a vital part of that. Videos like this can only help us understand the financial demands of running a golf club and hopefully make us appreciate where some of our money goes. We all wish green fees and memberships were cheaper, but this perhaps will go some way to tempering the annoyance relating to prices.
