to those who judge the people in this video for not helping clean up, it's possible to be so down that you can't even get up you don't know what mental illness or hardship these people have been through don't judge what you haven't had to fight your way out of. sometimes you just get so disoriented and lost that you're not able to help yourself. Michael does a great job of helping provide hope to people yes there were are a lot of takers out there but there's also a lot of people who are just down and out. thank you Michael for all you do.

I was a homeless veteran and I received front of the line privileges when I was homeless. However, I was blessed that I donated plasma while homeless so I was able to get bus passes to keep a job and keep myself fed until I moved into an expended stay hotel. It took one year for me to get my own apartment again. I slept outside for 1 night and then found a shelter program. I would not have survived the winter otherwise. So blessed to be out of that situation now. Hope everyone struggling gets the help they need.

From a vet deep embedded in the VA system due to my issues, programs exist. A lot of the times its a lack of knowledge of said programs, or untreated mental illness. They have like "group" home type deals where veterans can live but often they are plagued with mental illness and substance abuse. There is also housing payment assistance, emergency housing, job retraining etc. Another issue is vets that have unrelated service connected issues and carry a disability rating under 30%. The VA is not allowed legally to treat these people for conditions unrelated to service unless you meet a certain disability percentage threshold. Veterans don't get "lifetime medical" in the way that the general public thinks

Great video. I was homeless n down on my luck for about 5 years here in Chicago. My problem was being an alcoholic n addict , getting high all the time. It was also hanging around the wrong types of people that were also down n out. I had a terrible tragedy happen that terrified me n I gave treatment another try. God willing this time I was desperate n miserable enough that it worked for me. That was 19 years ago n I just celebrated 17 years Sober. I am living very well now n am so much happier. God is good to me n , I will always help the homeless as you do.

@@gladyswilliams336 nothing could be more wrong. Alcoholism / drug addiction , are a disease. A addict cannot drink a drink here n there, the person's whole life falls apart n spirals into the abyss. I know many who could get drunk beyond belief n still get up early n make it to work. Not so with me. I'd run off on a binge for weeks, even months sometimes n lose the job n eventually wherever I was staying too. So it could be considered a terrible thing if you'd prefer that term to luck. I do also agree that , in some rare cases, being an alcoholic or addict can be a blessing, as in my case, because after suffering years of homelessness n getting sober, I now am clean going on 18 years soon, I now appreciate the small things in life, having a shower, eating what I want to eat etc.

the US is always preaching "We love and support our troops! Respect for Veterans!! Love thy neighbour!! God bless America" yet there's countless homeless people, including those who have served in the Army, Navy, air force and other services. certainly, can see the love there these men [one being a veteran] having to resort to sleeping behind dumpsters because there's not enough services and help to go around and men like Michael are the ones who have to pick up the slack that the government should be doing, and being a man that actually SHOWS respect and love towards his neighbours, random strangers and those that become friends. The richest country in the world and the homeless situation is epidemic. That says a lot about how much the government and the majority of the population care. Don't know these guys stories, but you can clearly see that these men are broken. If it where not for you and people like you Michael there would be no one looking out for them. I know you do this because you are a good person not because you are looking for praise, but a big HUGE THANK YOU to you. 💖💖💖💖

Hello Michael it's Isabell here in Tucson, oh man when you said' how you are going to figure out this situation, I had a feeling it was gonna be a whole different kind of video" Sometimes we feel overwhelmed and these two precious brothers ended up living next to the dumpsters. So sad when after serving our country this is how they ended up. God bless you Michael for helping and showing love in action. May you be blessed a thousand times over for helping the hurting. Stay safe out there.

What you do is absolutely wonderful. My boyfriend does pretty much the same thing. Helps people out with a couple bucks here and there or will buy them a cup of coffee or sandwich. We have gone into restaurants where he has paid for another couple of meal. His birthday is the 19th of this month and since you have inspired me so much, I think for his birthday I will load up the car with a case of cold water, packages of food and some packaged dog food for those people who are out there with their dogs.
