My first experience with FL was with the first one. I hated it and refused to touch it until..... FL20. As an almost 20 year user of Protocols, FL is SOLID.

Coming back to say L.J. is right! Stock plugins in a DAW are only the ones made by the company of that DAW. If they’re in partnership with another company to host their plugins it’s an add-on (like Melodyne Essentials in Pro-Tools).

The term ya'll were looking for was " machine learning " which is not AI. ozone is machine learning style, you cant tell ozone to create a new genre style of mastering on spot for example. Now chat GPT can solve problems and learn/adjust information on the spot which is "like human"... A.I.

I'm with Devvon when it comes to stock. Think of it like this. When you buy a car from the dealership the tires are from Michellon, or Goodyear, the lights from China, radio from JVC, Crutchfield, or Alpine, yet when you get that car off the lot everything in it is considered stock because that's how you bought it. If I buy a DAW and it comes with an assortment of plugins those are stock plugins because I didn't have to do anything extra other than buy and install the DAW.

When I upgraded from FL Studio 11 to 20 I stopped using the step sequencer because the way they redesigned the send to piano roll function and looping I just couldnt get into that workflow (send to piano roll notes all weird now and the expand sequencer to 8/16/32 is weird too, the looping mode sucks). They had it perfect in FL 11 idk why they decided to do that change. Now I never use the step sequencer, only the piano roll.

Stock Plug-Ins can also be created in Cooperation with other Companies. Ableton Operator was developed by Ableton, but Live also comes with Analog, Collision, Electric and Tension by AAS, Glue Compressor by Cytomic and lots of integrated Max for Live Devices by different Developers - and they 're all Stock or Native Devices.

the problem with that 'DAW's sound the same'. Is they just bounce a finished WAV. The argument for me is that you won't get to the same end sound if you make a song. How the DAW processes Mono to Stereo and back. The stock FX. How the DAW presents arranging and processing to you. How it deals with external FX and parallel processing. How it samples and deals with time stretching. Which stock fx sound the best. All these things mean that the DAW's do in fact sound different, as they'll lead you to a different sound. The 1's & 0's behind every sonic decision are different. I went from Reason to Ableton and they just sound so different. How they handle stereo and the fidelity of the stock synths/fx mean that Ableton just always sounds better to my ears. They do NOT sound the same. Ofc if I bounce a finished WAV with exact settings they'll sound the same, that's not really the argument tho imo.

Wait does pro tools have a master channel ? Like how FL does ? Or do you have to make one . I’m confused . When I watch tutorials and I hear “ master bus “ I get lost . Because in fl it’s just there already . Plus I tried putting them Nls bus on all my inserts plus my “ master channel “ and it was kinda crunchy . So somebody tell me, do you have to make your own buses in pro tools ?

I wouldn’t say Algorithms & A.I. are the same. You can program an algorithm once (and patch updates as needed), but you train A.I. over time, and it develops on its own. LJ was right in reading the definition but the better conclusion to draw from it is that like human intelligence, the more information it takes in, the more it (whatever “it” is) will adapt and change.

I think you guys were confusing the terms "AI" and "Automation". They're technically different things. Automation is teaching computers to follow pre-defined parameters. AI is teaching computers to make their own decisions with the information given to them. Automation = Limited number of predetermined conclusions AI = Unlimited number of unknown conclusions
