I watched your auction throughout the week, and was sad to see that it didn’t happen. I listed my car on C&B with no reserve, and it sold above the amount that I was hoping for. I totally agree with your summary of selling it with only what’s on it, and with nothing else. It does not seem that people on C&B care about any extras outside of the car itself. Happy to know you were able to get the car sold either way! I’ll be using C&B in the future again, but can understand why somebody wouldn’t.

+Takashi Essex thanks! I’m not at all saying I won’t use them in the future, just wanted to help give advice on what I did wrong and give a look into how it works in more detail for those that haven’t used it yet 😁

When did most of your bids come in? I have my car up on cnb now, and the first two days I saw some bidding activity, but it's since been silent with only a day left now. The amount it's at right now is disappointing to day the least as I've already been offered more from dealerships as a trade in for my car. Really crossing my fingers that there are still watchers on the listing waiting to bid during the final moments.

@@mikeg3529 There are definitely watchers! I got bids the first couple of days as well, with silence throughout the middle portion. My car's on the last few hours got it to just above what I was hoping it would sell for, but, at the beginning of the day, the bid was at a considerably lower amount than I was hoping. Seems to be the trend with auctions; people get excited in the beginning, it cools off in the middle, then they get excited again near the end when it matters.

Awesome experience, thank you. Need a bunch more details, man. When do did not sell it, was there any fee when the car does not sell? If it had sold for the 48.5k, what would you have taken home? What are their other fees, if any? If it cost nothing if it does not sell, why nor list every car, if they don't sell, then hit up marketplace?

I have the same questions. We need a part two.

There is no fee if the car doesn’t sell! And, when it does sell, the full amount of the purchase price is paid to the seller, and the buyer is charged a 4.5% buyers fee on top of the sale price straight to C&B. They recently removed their listing fees, and so there really is no negative to listing your car on there, and then, if it doesn’t sell, listing elsewhere. If anything, it’s free advertising with an extremely well detailed listing!

Seams ok to sell a car this way, no interest in buying this way.

+Miami rice that’s funny because I’m the other way around… I was able to get a lot more for the car outside of this and routinely see cars go for less than I thought they would. I wouldn’t sell but I think buyers can get some goods deals
