I will have to suggest this for melee scenarios for SCA Rapier! Looks like a lot of fun!

At my local club we tried some similar scenarios, actually boarding side by side with a sort of small bridge to clear the gap between the imaginary ships. We tried to implement cannon fire and a sudden attack command to launch the boarding. Everyone has guaranteed fun.
