Love this! Can you get the lines from a flat felt stitch on a regular machine? That trick of the lead fabric is awrsome! Thanks!!!
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC4 жыл бұрын
Yes! For a flat felled seam, you'd sew the two pieces right sides together, then grade the seam allowance on one side, fold longer side of the seam allowance WST, then topstitch down! Collette HQ has a great tutorial on this on their blog :)

You used a juki serger for the lettuce hem, I’m in the market for a new serger and am wondering if the brother is able to do that? Very hard to choose. Thank you
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC4 жыл бұрын
Many in our facebook group have tried this with success! If you get the Brother, I highly suggest joining the "Brother 1034 Serger tips" group, SO helpful!

It's called picot elastic, or lingerie elastic, that may help you find some.

You can get it on Amazon- amzn.to/4g4FsS7 Or I think Joann stores carry them.

Hey love this video just caught it now in july 22 - excuse me remarking but i am a retired nurse and just want to make sure (with love and good intent) you have checked out your mole/birthmark? 💖💖

I love the video but I wish you had shown us how it turns out on the underside. Sometimes the stitch can look perfect on the top but disastrous at the bottom. So please consider flipping and showing the underbelly of what you've done.

When doing a lettuce hem, how do you stop the thread from breaking? I had a bit of trouble with that last time I did a rolled lettuce hem.
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC4 жыл бұрын
Great question! Have you played with the tension? If the thread is breaking, the tension on your machine might be a bit too high.

I used my twin needle and it seem as though I did a plain straight stitch, it didn’t stretch at all
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC4 жыл бұрын
Maybe try lengthening your stitch length to see if that gives it a bit more stretch?
@jeanmiller75813 жыл бұрын
First of all i am an experienced sewest with more than 50 years experience. I really liked the techniques you using. My only complaint was, you went too fast. For a beginners or some with a little more experience, it might have been hard to keep up. I liked your video otherwise.

You can alter speed of video in you tube / run it at .75 then it is easier to follow - does not distort speech
