Taking less naps? My after lunch nap is something that I look forward to. But in all actuality, if my phlebs help I could handle not taking naps if it means I'm healthier! :) I hope my joints and muscles also get less sore. I've only had one phleb so far. Thanks again for sharing!

After lunch naps sound great! Don't give those up! However, my napping was kind of excessive back then, I still take naps but only when I've been super busy. Phlebotomies made me super tired too. Glad you got one down!

@@KyleClaytonGore Just had my 2nd yesterday! Again a pint in 5 minutes. Ferritin was down to 4000 from 4600 in 2 weeks after my first. You're right, I feel super tired (almost zoned out) after but the next day I feel great (well, as great as you can feel with HH). I went for my morning run in the cold rain and enjoyed it as much as anyone with this can enjoy exercise.. :)

That's great! Your iron will come down fast at the beginning. That's awesome to hear. Glad you felt good and got a run in! Hopefully that just gets better over time!

Take some deep breaths. It's normal to freak out at first, I sure did. You'll get it down! Mine is finally down to within normal ranges and so I've had a 4 month break. I am about to go see what my ferritin jumped to during that time!

@@KyleClaytonGore wow, u are amazing. yeah did my first venesection 4days back. gonna do once 3 monthly, prob recheck the ferrition after 2 venesection [ 1pint each time ] to see the progression. lowering the iron is very impt !! its like a silent killer.
@KyleClaytonGore5 жыл бұрын
Glad you're getting it taken care of! That sounds like a good plan!

I havent started yet. I will posted here my progress. Btw how much iron will reduced at each treatment approximately?
@KyleClaytonGore5 жыл бұрын
My ferritin decreases by around 30-60 per month on average. Although my iron would spike every 5 months, so it was a little of a roller coaster. Keep me posted and don’t hesitate to reach out! I have more videos about phlebotomies and stuff too! Hydration is the key!
@keanamuba5 жыл бұрын
Hi Kyle, what do you mean by Hydration is the key?
@KyleClaytonGore5 жыл бұрын
Your veins are more easily accessed the more hydrated you are. So I make sure to start hydrating a couple of days before my appointment. I try to drink 80+ ounces of water per day. Not only are my phlebotomies more efficient, it helps me avoid an hour of saline drip post phlebotomy.
@keanamuba5 жыл бұрын
Got it Kyle.
@KyleClaytonGore5 жыл бұрын
That's my current rate. I only get phlebotomies 1x per month. The last 2 years I have gone almost every week for phlebotomies and my rate was higher than that. Plus I had way more iron in my blood during that time. Hope that makes sense.

Hi I have hemochromatosis. Was wanting to know bout foods to eat and foods not 2 eat. Cheers
@KyleClaytonGore6 жыл бұрын
Generally it is good to stay away from "fortified/enriched" foods like pasta and bread. They add extra iron to them. Red meat has a lot of iron too. Talk to your Doctor about what they recommended. My Doctor didn't suggest any changes in my diet.
